Wow! Medina did an amazing job! --explains drug legalization

Not to compete with the other Medina thread but want to advertise this fact to the DP.

Watching her tonight I could not stop thinking about how the RP movement has taught us all how to articulate the message.

Medina has been painted as a "crazy Ron Paul person" in the media. But tonight, she transcended this stereotype and made herself a real force in this campaign.

I predict DP folks and RP folks around the nation will start pouring money into this great voice for liberty.

she really did do a great job

she really did do a great job explaining her position on drugs. perry obviously gave her that question to label her as an extremist/crazy but she did just fine. i do not live in texas, but can someone who does explain the populace's overall attitude toward drug legalization?

Alot of conservative

Alot of conservative christians make up the republican base. And you have to remember, from my precinct data, anyone younger than 45....they only have a 5% chance of voting in a primary election. The 65 year voting block has a 90% chance of voting...what do you think when you hear those numbers?

I see Kay

using her little 'hand signal.' Whatever the significance, there it is.

On a side by side, Perry sits lower than Kay and that is not good for Perry!!

I need Debra Medina signs BADLY !!

Anyone have any of the type you put next to street intersections ? Let me know I'm in Houston write me

She started off a little

She started off a little shaky... she was probably a little nervous, but she improved greatly...

She improved as the debate went on- could have been a little more specific/articulate with explaining freedom solutions... For example, instead of just saying freedom leads to prosperity, so I'd lower taxes/regulations, or I'd follow the Constitution, etc. she should try to clearly explain why and how those will be successful/practical solutions.

I think she did the best of the 3. Judging them totally objectively, I was actually surprised how bad Rick Perry did... he came across as arrogant, whiny, annoying, etc. He kept talking about how Texas is so great, and spent more time talking about how great Texas is rather than answering questions. Additionally, he has to deal with the problem of, here Texas has a large deficit/debt, has lost jobs, etc. He claims he's tackled those problems, but if that's the case why do they still exist/why have they gotten worse? I'm not from Texas, and don't know much about their politics/situation, but logically, if you're the governor and you supposedly dealt with those issues and solved them when you came into office, as Perry claims, then isn't it your fault that they now have returned worse than ever? Doesn't that suggest you've grown government/spent money/made some bad decisions?

On the question on what was basically about 'death panels,' Hutchinson and Perry didn't even seem to know it existed as a pre-existing law, which made them look insincere and weak in their answers. Debra Medina won that question as she didn't just know it existed, but had witnessed it's effects first hand through working in the medical profession.

There were some interesting moments where it almost seemed like Medina and Hutchinson were teaming up against Perry, or at least using each other's arguments to further the attacks/their arguments against Perry- smart strategy- makes Perry look less credible if there's two against him.

Hutchinson debated ok- better than Perry, but I'd say Medina won. She was the most articulate/clear spoken/took her time... could have been even more articulate/specific with her solutions, but was better than the other two. Perry just sort of rambled, and Hutchinson wasn't much more specific.

Lastly, Medina's closing statement was by far the best. It felt the most sincere, was very clear and inspiring. Perry's rambled, and Hutchinson's sounded too traditional in it's format, but was still fairly successful.

Did you notice how Perry

completely ignored the Trans Texas Corridor questions ?
Said the problem with the TTC was solved with tort reform ?
Tell that to the farmers and ranchers who spent money they didn't have fighting your friggen attorneys Rick. Rot in hell Perry !

I watched some of the debate.

I watched some of the debate. I can't imagine what kind of person would vote for Hutchinson. She was the least impressive in my opinion.

Ventura 2012

Debbie was awesome!

It was an amazing debate. If I was in her place, I would get a speech coach. She now has the attention to grasp the support of many. I wish her much success. She's awesome!

In truth,

Medina!!!! I think she knocked it out of the park!

She out shined both of them. I was very pleased!

letmapeoplego I'm so thrilled

with Debra's performance I was making a nuisance of myself on the other thread..LOL Glad to have a new place to post my delight !!

no kidding!

I am inspired! I have been cringing at the treatment of her prior to tonight...hoping but doubting she would be a good voice for us.

I am beside myself! Our message is crystalizing.

I had lunch with a Texas legislator today, he is your standard mainstream "conservative" Republican and he was quoting RP to me.

He expressed the typical "you know things are screwed up when Ron Paul sounds like the only person making sense" (ha ha ha as I grit my teeth)...but then he went on to say, but I heard [Ron Paul] say "One side wants to spend money on wars and the other on welfare but neither side realizes that it is not their money!"

He went on to talk about state sovereignty...a conversation with other members of the legislature.

Our message is starting to penetrate everywhere!

There is a real state sovereignty movement a foot here in the Lone Star State!

The media didn't miss a lick. Medina ignored.

Mentions Medina very briefly. Says that Hutchison and Perry will debate again soon.

The media is still not our friend.

With Freedom Comes Responsibility

They only mention her name.

The whole article is the two rats. Where's the Ghandi quote? ...

Medina's no friend of the Fed.....

Therefore no friend of the MEDIA

Get Medina elected, if Texas secedes....get ready.

Perry kept talking about job creation

all I could think was why not get rid of HIS JOB !! Politicians by and large are parasites. Unless of course your actually working for the people you represent like our good Dr Paul. I'll take that type all day in every possible capacity in govt, federal, state and local.
