I have asked the moderators to do something about a poster, oswegoscott, who has disrupted a fine thread that legalizeliberty put on the front page of dailpaul. This individual is calling me a "sanctimonious unaware moron" and has told me to "get my head out of my rectum."
I have refrained from using like minded language...as much as this person pushes me to do so, but I am also frustrated that no moderator doesn't control someone like this when asked to by me, LibertyBelle and Jimmy Cricket to do so.
I have had this happen once before and possibly this oswegoscott character might actually be him in disguise.
I've spent the last 4 1/2 years, writing a book that will help Americans "love" one another and bring us supporters of liberty together. I challenge CFP's, CFA's, PhD's and Harvard Professors on various issues and someone with the maturity of a 12 year old is allowed to disrupt this posting unabated with dribble, malicious intent and abuse. He is not good for dailypaul's image, especially being allowed to attack me and get away with breaking your own set rules.
I've invited others here, including family members to further the cause of the Foundation that my friend is trying to do in helping the Orphans in Haiti. All they get to see me do is defending the orphans from oswegoscott. This is a waste of my time dealing with someone like this, but since I did invite others to read this post, I must defend it.
Liberty is full of radicals who will do their best to derail it by these types of tactics. I'm well aware of them and will point them out if they break the forum rules.

First of all, the DP is not an appropriate place for this thread in the first place. If you're going to put something like this up, then you have to take the consequences - that means dealing with opinions that you disagree with.
Second of all, this thread doesn't deserve to be on the front page - but legalize did that.
Third, I have more important things to do than referee a shouting match.
If you babies can't work it out, then go someplace else.
If people want to help the children of Haiti, then help them. If you don't, or can't afford to, then don't.
Stop wasting my time.
This thread is getting inappropiately hijacked and there are personal attacks going on to boot. We have asked the offending commentators to make thir OWN post to DEBATE if they want. This post was clearly not an invitation to debate or disparage those that wish to volunteer to help.
"I think we are living in a world of lies: lies that don't even know they are lies, because they are the children and grandchildren of lies." ~ Chris Floyd
With all the problems we have here you want to send money to Haiti?? How about donating to our kids here who are suffering because of the economy and bad government. Also, as far as the comments made to bring them here. Do we need more Haitians her to further erode wages and burden services? We need more Haitians like we need more Mexicans. Wake up! Forget the warm fuzzy feelings of multiculuralism.
"Debate on helping victims in Haiti' or something of that nature? This thread is posted for those that want to help voluntarily with donations to a private charity..please stop hijacking it by making it a 'debate issue'...which was not at all the purpose of the post. IMO it is highly inappropiate and disrespectful to the OP and those of us that CHOOSE to help. Make your own post for a DEBATE instead of hijacking this one.
All of what you said has been hashed and rehahsed below. There is no burdening of you or anyone else.
It's about a Foundation helping orphans age six months to 5 years who are living under a tarp with very little care and can't help themselves.
The money isn't "sent to Haiti," but to the Foundation that wants to help these particular children.
I was under the impression this appeal for help was about a private foundation and voluntary charity, so I don't quite understand why someone is hijacking this thread and attacking the poster of this thread with name calling.
If someone does not wish to help, they don't have to.
If someone wishes to limit their charity to Americans only, they are free to do that...however that does not mean others have to feel bound by that same limitation.
Anyway...thanks, Doug, for trying to make a difference.
Your thoughts that "if someone does not wish to help, they don't have to" and if someone wishes to limit their charity to Americans only, they are free to do that" are spot on.
Yes, people can "limit" their help to these.
Or they can spend all day debating me on the same thing over and over again. At the end of the day however, one of us will have done something to help those who can't help themselves and the other will have accomplished nothing by posting on this thread.
I'll be here all day and night defending those children and the Foundation that wants to help them... I have free will to do so. And those that don't want me to are stepping on my liberty.
and the kids temporarily separated from their families is imperative.
These kids are very vulnerable to being picked up as sex slaves.
They are also the least able to compete for the resources that will keep them alive and healthy.
I'm seeing on TV now about an Orphanage- Children of God Orphanage that has 80 children living under a tarp and 18 babies living in the back of a box truck. They have had no food, water or formula for days. The older children are singing to keep spirits up. The UN and the US has been aware of thier location..they are 2 miles from the airport and yet they have not recieved aid for days. Since the news reported it I think they are close to getting some aid soon.
It is one of the many very desperate, heartbreaking life or death situations happening now. These children are in process for adoption with American families and the families here in the US are beside themselves trying to get rescue missions to get the children aid and out of the country.
Without food or water and as the days go buy epidemics will be setting in and the children are the most vulnerable. This is a life or death situation and IMO not a time for 'selective compassion' as I see some comments below. You either have compassion or not..it is not something that is 'selective' to a country or a race or a disastrous situation . Some people have the ability and will to donate and others may not be able to give now. Even if a person cannot give $$ there should be no one disparaging those that can and want to.
I would ask those that are wanting to make this thread an argument and an issue to respectfully cease and desist. This is not the time or the appropriate post to do that. Doug is trying to do what he can and this is a thread for those that want to help.
For those of you that do not know the history of the US corruption that has had a large part in keeping Haiti in the deplorable condition it is now then I would ask you to look into it.
Thank you, Doug for your compassionate efforts.

I can only take a conversation so far but when someone turns to name calling, it is not worth my time to converse with such mentality.
Appreciate your info and efforts as well...
but it's "against the law" for me to do so.
Ron Paul "Sign Wave Across the USA" -- November 5th!
I hope many Haitian orphans will be able to come to America and be adopted into loving families.
is overwhelmed by the enormity--
then just help one person somewhere, whatever age or race or . . .
just help one person.
If you are uncomfortable with giving money, then find a child in your community who could use some kind of help or find a parent who could use help--
and help one person.
It can be overwhelming. Do just one thing, and don't become discouraged.
If you aren't comfortable giving money, and you have money to give, then find another way to help.
If you have no money to give, then pray for one person.
I know that it can be hard for those who have money--
it's sometimes easier not to have any; then if you help, you will do it less out of guilt.
good advice 1988vote...
Thanks for sharing...
Life sucks. We all have problems. Another 30 were just laid off at my primary client site. A friend's father in law watched another 20 laid off on the same day. My dad has been laid off for almost a year.
I have been supporting people that didn't deserve it for almost 5 years now. I personally will never give another dime to a politician, OR a politician's cause, OR any cause for that matter, ever again.
I am done with altruism. I have sacrificed myself 100 times over to benefit others. Never again.
And I know this doesn't contribute to the conversation, really. And serves no purpose but to get me flamed, but I am SICK of people demanding handouts from me and I just lost it when I read this.

and near the end of your resources. It's important for each of us to take care of ourselves so we can be refreshed and energized to continue caring for others too. We're all in different phases of give and receive and constantly need to stay in balance.
Those of us who still have the energy will do what we can to give a hand to those less fortunate. You will too, I'm sure, when you feel more supported once again by the world.
We are all perhaps facing a really tough time ahead, and we in the liberty movement have a lot to offer, just in helping people understand how the world can be much much better for all.
I just about lost it today when I went to pick something up at my local drug store and was accosted by the cashier "to donate money to Haiti". The pressure to donate is getting ridiculous.
then go start your own Foundation to help orphans stay where they are and not be cared for.
The purpose of my article was to help a friend make a difference for the orphans who cannot help themselves, not debate those who don't care about the orphans.
I spoke with Sam Han late last night. He had called to give me an update on what the Han-Schneider International Children's Foundation is trying to do in helping the Orphans of Haiti.
There is a group of 30 of them, age 6 months to 5, that they are trying to arrange transport to the U.S. Sam has connections he is trying to use with the Eisenhower family, Elizabeth Dole and others in trying to make this happen. He had asked me if I could help with creating a press release.
I created the press release below based on the information Sam gave me in an attempt to express the importance of expediting help to these children who no longer have a place to live and are presently living (sleeping) on a tarp with very little food and water.
His hope is to secure transportation and get the 30 orphans to the United States. If you know anyone from one of the many Foundations that can help, please contact Sam his telephone in the press release below. I will be contacting all I know in this effort. Together, we can all make a difference.
Here is the press release and I'll update things later (it's 2:30am PST right now and I hope those on the East coast can keep this thread alive as I need some sleep). Thank you...
30 Orphaned Children From Haiti Desperately Need Your Help
The tragedy an earthquake has brought upon Haiti has seriously endangered the lives of 30 orphaned children ages 6 months to 5 years. These young children have seen their housing reduced to rubble and are presently living under a tarp with no beds and a limited supply of milk, water, and food. If they don't receive help in the next couple of days, there could be an even worse tragedy put upon them.
The children need immediate assistance that only America's Foundations and charity minded individuals can provide in such a short amount of time.
The Han-Schneider Foundation, through the efforts of Founder Sam Han, is presently organizing the transfer of these 30 orphaned children to the United States so they can be properly cared for. But the Han-Schneider Foundation can't do it without your help.
Would you please consider helping us in this valiant effort to prevent any further tragedy from occurring? Time is of the essence.
Naturally your generosity and commitment in contributing to help these children will allow them do that for which they are not capable of doing for themselves.
Please contact us for further direction by calling 1-213-700-9721
Thank you for your consideration...

Yeah, bring in 30 MORE foreigners to soak
up our funds. We'll give them lifetime
welfare and medical.
I'm being REALISTIC--I don't like it either, but I have kids and nieces and nephews who are Americans!!
It's not their fault we let our government get out of hand. Get them here so they can survive, so the place they come from will be less strapped, then go fix your government.
America would be 'all right' if we were generous AND moral--
it's the lack of morality that has gotten us where we are, not the 'generosity'--
it's immoral to wage undeclared wars. It's not immoral to help orphans.
If you are a Christian then you know that those who help the 'widow and the fatherless' will not be forgotten by God.
If you aren't Christian, then what can be your objection to others doing it, if they aren't using your money?
You can make that choice.
I can't say more without betraying more about myself than I dare to do so on here--
The money of those who care about Orphans...no one is forcing you to open your wallet and give. No one is asking for a government hand out.
You have free will to give or not to give. Humans are humans and those who can't fend for themselves need care whether they are Muslim, Haitian, Korean or American.
The Church used to do this and still does world wide. http://www.allaboutgod.com/orphanage-outreach.htm
For Sam Han, as an orphan, it is his passion to help those who can't help themselves as he was helped...by an American, decades ago.
Where do you think those orphans are going to go when they turn 18? Once they turn into adults and stop receiving support from the orphanage, then it's handouts from the government in the form of free student financial aid (that most working American citizens never have a chance of qualifying for!), free health care, or worse, welfare. Then we're all going to be forced to pay for them whether we want to or not.
There are thousands of poor starving orphans all over the world and we simply can't afford to take care of them all. We can't even afford to take care of the citizens in this country. What happened in Haiti was a terrible tragedy, but those kids are no more special than the ones who are poor and starving elsewhere.
No, I don't like saying these things, but at some point somebody has to say "enough is enough".
many are adopted.
Perhaps you'd rather let them die where they are in your version of utopia. That's not my version.
You have free will to think like you do, and I have free will to make a difference for the orphans of this world in helping my friend accomplish his goals.
WHO will pay later? What do YOU do for our kids? YOU and the Radical enviros are
part of the problem !! oooo lets go
help the whole world. Christ--you WANT one world order---redistribute the wealth.
LISTEN to yourself!
I DON'T CARE what you do with your money.
But your actions will put more burden on me and my children by bringing MORE immigrants in to live on the dole.
You have a Socialist mentality.
obviously don't know anything about me to make judgment. Perhaps we have more in common than you think.
But you're presumptions preclude you from discourse as you would rather profess your way of thinking rather than understanding the person you are speaking to.
Do you really think I'd be writing the many articles I post on dailypaul if I was an "enviro," "one world order" individual who wants to "redistribute wealth?"
You ask; "Who will pay later?" Hopefully the new parents who adopt the orphans, but if not, the Foundation takes care of the orphans, not the government or your paycheck that you can happily keep for yourself.
You ask; "What do you for our kids?" Well, my child was abducted at six months old and because of the country where she was taken not being part of the Hague Convention I had no rights to get her back. So about four and a half year ago I decided to write a book dedicated to her that I believe can change America for the better. The book will be out this year and you can decide for yourself if I am all you think I am.
In the meantime, you can read the articles I've written via my blog (see below) since January of 2007 in defense of the "message" that Ron Paul and other liberty minded folks bring.
