End the supermajority a year sooner?
While I can understand wanting another Kennedy to fill a Massachusetts senate seat(just kidding, i meant a liberty candidate), is it wrong to at least ASK whether being pragmatic and ending the 60 seat supermajority 1 year sooner is better then voting your conscience on a candidate who I haven't seen a lot of support for on here? And on that note, have there been any money bombs or a lot of great(any) front page write ups on JK here?
Similar to focus remaining on hr1207 when the Christmas Eve vote was scheduled for obama care, it doesnt seem like JK(yes, the irony of the initials) got much attention diverted his way with his election approaching and the others a year off. Yet for all that fabulous effort, we are to ridicule a someone who thinks ending the filibuster-proof supermajority a year early, and at least giving us a chance to make it to the next elections without healthcare passing is a worthy compromise?
Sure, Brown supports the war and some other things I might not care for, but his 1 vote on those handful of things would be considered far less important than the ability it break the supermajority a year early by some patriots.
It seems as though even on DP people would rather not have to make tough decisions. I guess that is part of human nature. However, it is of my opinion that those who are making this out to be a no-brainer may be doing so because they are experiencing cognitive-atrophy and dont want to think or see others discuss such issues. I would have preferred to have seen this topic discussed a bit, and seen JK promoted to be more than the guy who could potentially keep the supermajority in tact.
I realize I am in for some flaming because this may have indirectly indicted some folks and they may take it personally, but that was not my intent. I simply thought this topic deserved a bit more thought and discussion than the usual marching in step some of the people who have all the obvious answers prefer practicing. Is there anyone who agrees this was an issue at least worth consideration?

I did a great deal
of research on Scott Brown. He's promised to vote against ObamaCare, but he's also announced his intent to bring RomneyCare with him to Washington. He also seems disingenuous: currently he's touting himself as a pro-life candidate despite his long history of support for Roe vs. Wade. Personally, I think sending him to Washington is too risky, but I would encourage everyone to do their own research and draw their own conclusions.
"Pragmatism"
How has that worked out for you? How's that worked out for the country?
Sure, Brown supports the war and some other things I might not care for, but...

t seems as though even on DP people would rather not have to make tough decisions.
Really? You think its not tough to stand your ground and vote your principles, even when everyone else wants you to play the horses and have some fun, go along with the crowd, go along to get along and play the game like the rest of the American zombies?
You think it is easy for Ron Paul, every time you see a vote that is 434-1? Oh yeah - easy. He probably just thinks, "Here's another bill - I'll just vote no."
Easy? Not.
The easy part is doing what the media tells you to do. Every other commercial on the TV here is for Scott Brown. He's got robots calling me every day - from Curt Shilling to his just graduated daughter. "It is tough out here in the world. That's why I want you to vote for my dad."
The easy part for some is to ignore their heart and go with the flow" "Yeah, he's for the war - for killing innocent people, but...he might stop that healthcare thingamajig deal, etc...whatever."
I would have preferred to have seen this topic discussed a bit,
Then you should have discussed it. That is how the Daily Paul works. You don't have to wait to "see" anything. You could have started your discussion at any time.
Is there anyone who agrees this was an issue at least worth consideration?
Yes. This is why I run and maintain the Daily Paul.
Have at it.
This is an immediate issue
The immediate issue at hand for all of us is the need to tie their hands, or by 2012 we will be in big trouble. There seems to be many that are begging for a full out violent physical revolution. It can be done without this kind of extremism.

Joe Kennedy
I'm hoping the voters that don't pay attention go in that booth and see the Kennedy name and vote for him. God would that be an upset. But we have Dielbold to thank for that never being possible.
Here's a really wicked connection.
What did Diebold make before voting machines. ATM's Cha-Ching! The bankers count our votes...
hey, Ronald Reagan won in
hey, Ronald Reagan won in Louisiana, remember?!?!?! Its too bad that he decided to give all of his votes and delegates to McCain though :/

Throw us a bone!
I am reasonable.
I realize there will rarely be candidates I can vote for that I agree with 100%, or even 75%. That's fine. And when there are, I've come to learn not many other voters join me in supporting them. I hope that changes someday.
Right now is a great opportunity for those other candidates however. I'm willing to consider a compromise! For the first time that I can remember, I am offering to be a single-issue voter. Why? Well, for the first time that I can remember, a libertarian issue is being seriously considered by Congress. I can be bargained with!
We need another vote for auditing the Fed in the senate. Another co-sponsor would be even better.
I will plug my nose and vote to push a viable S.604 co-sponsor into the Senate.
I have found no public statements from Scott Brown regarding S.604 or the Fed in general.
Oh no! He's running out of time to support S.604 and win my vote! Without that support, I, along with a likely margin of victory, will vote for a Kennedy in a few hours.
I am the Fed Audit Voting Bloc!
It's unclear
whether or not Scott Brown is in favor of auditing the Fed (S604), but it is certain he's not in favor of ending the Fed. I don't know if that helps you.
No
I'm actually on thin ice with one of my best friends over this. If I'm not willing to help Scott Brown out to appease her, I'm certainly not going help him because you ask me to!
Why would anyone on this site
Why would anyone on this site want to help this guy?
There's no guarantee he will not vote for that health care bill--these people lie through their teeth!
Go to his site, look under "Issues," this guy has taken a page right out of Obama's play book--keep it simple, bland, non-committal, and as vague as possible.
Didn't we learn anything after Bush and Obama?
Bush said he was for limited government!!! Geez... wake up, people!!!
Look at it this way. The
Look at it this way. The establishment wll continue doing the same thing it is doing, accelerating the complete and total economic collapse of the US. I say bring it on. The sooner the better.
What happened to
"Let's bargain with the GOP?!" The thing I find curious is I don't see much GOP support for Scott Brown. It's not like Michael Steele and the RNC are sending out the e-mails requesting support for Scott Brown. Those have been coming from groups like FreedomWorks and TeaPartyExpress.
I'd bet dimes to dollars if Ted Kennedy had switched parties and
not policy, you would have voted for him pretending to be a Republican to keep an "evil" Democrat from winning.
Have you lost your marbles?
This guy is FOR socialized medicine. Just his own flavor of it.
The real liberty candidate is Joe Kennedy the Independent. (really Libertarian)
Brown is a neo-con. A RINO. If he had a "D" next to his name, he wouldn't have to change any policy positions, and the liberals would love him and Republicans would hate him.
You have been HAD. Quick, fix that and come to your senses before you vote tomorrow and alert everyone you know.
Don't worry, I don't live there
I won't be voting.

I voted for Ron Paul!
Sorry for all the alarm, I really did not know much about Brown except that he said he will not vote for the health care bill, which could stop it in it's tracks.
I did not do enough research!
Why is there a race for dog catcher?
I support Joe Kennedy.
Scott Brown supports mass murder in the Middle East and abortion mills, out of control government spending, indefinite detention without trial or public defenders for Gitmo detainees, amnesty for illegals and Romneycare.
What's to like about Scot Brown?
Well Said,
Joe Kennedy gets my vote.

The DP is proof that the grassroots support for Ron Paul and his peaceful message of individual liberty is large, real, and not going away!
My question is
How do I get him to stop calling my home?
I'm voting for Kennedy.
What....?????
Michael you are so funny, Kennedy is dead already....
There's a candidate named Kennedy
He's the "Liberty" guy.
