Welcoming Kucinich and Gravel supporters to the ranks
Submitted by freedomfan08 on Sat, 12/08/2007 - 20:13
When Dennis Kucinich and Mike Gravel bow out, I hope they encourage their supporters to run with the Ron Paul camp. We agree on some of the same things, and Ron Paul is the only one that would end the war...
In fact, he's the only non-establishment candidate who has a viable chance at winning. So you think they'll throw their support our way?

Isn't it interesting that out of all the people in Washington...
We only talk of 2 or 3 (including RP) that are honest?! I personally think that is more important than whether they are Democrats or Replubicans. To me most of them are Republicrats! Not much difference really. As for Dennis Kucinich, I hope that once he is eliminated, he will endorse Ron. That would mean a lot to me, lots of other people and I think to him too.
So, the only conclusion I can come to is that electing Ron Paul, must only be the first step. The American people need to clean house. This movement must produce the next generation of patriots and leaders if it is to truly be successful. Long live the constitution, freedom, liberty and Ron Paul.
DK won't drop out
He raised less than a half million last quarter. It's not about winning for him or even being a spoiler, but having an outlet to express his views. He knows he wont get any delegates or his name on most ballots, but like last time he will still stay in until the end. I think it is unfortunate, because his supporters seem far more passionate about him becoming President than he does.
One glimmer of hope though is that his parry is going to treat him like the Reps do Ron Paul this time around. His vote against SCHIP pretty much guarantees that the Dems will run someone against him in the primaries and financially support them. Before that I would tell you it would never happen because he is still beholden to his party to win back his Congressional seat.
My prediction, for what it's worth, is that he doesn't even win the primary for his house seat. We should all take a moment to appreciate the unique position Dr Paul is in with his house seat. He has some incredible constituents and donors that allow him to not only beat the Democrat, but also a primary challenge from his own party.
As for Gravels followers, I think if they really wanted their vote to matter they would be with us already. He hasn't even campaigned in Iowa or New Hampshire. The remaining followers he has can take a ride in the blimp (all of them at once mind you) if they join us.

old school Democrats
Dennis Kucinich and Mike Gravel represent an endangered minority in the Democratic Party and it is despicable the way they have been treated by their peers and the media. They both have excellent campaign platforms with workable Progressive proposals that would be tremendous if put into action, some government programs do work well for the people with the right leadership and vision. They have ideals that are not popular here but the positives far exceed the negatives so any influx from their camps including Mike or Dennis themselves when Ron wins the GOP nomination would be fantastic.
How about Edwards as VP?
I like both of these men...just like Edwards better.

I don't see Dr. Paul picking
I don't see Dr. Paul picking Kucinich as his running mate. Sure they're both honest, but Kucinich is from the opposite end of the spectrum. And you have to keep in mind the order of succession to the presidency....
Possible.
They would be welcome allies.
I hope he does not choose
I hope he does not choose Kucinich. Kucinich wants gun control, Paul does not.
THERE IS NO QUESTION
There is no question that they would endorse Ron Paul. My guess is Kucinich will be Ron Paul's running mate. This would bring almost all of Kucinich supporters to Ron Paul while at the same time making all the other democrats think even harder about voting for Ron Paul. So he will have all his supporters now, all of Kucinich's supporters, and have all the leftover democrats as possible supporters. There is no way in hell Hillary will steal any of Ron Paul's supporter but Ron Paul will steal a lot of her supporters, especially with Kucinich as his running mate.
he will not have Kucinich
as a running mate and already expressed that in an interview. Lou Dobbs? Hmmmm.... If Ron goes independent he may be able to snag him as a VP...
Let me state clearly though that I, along with many others, really like Kucunich and would also welcome his supporters.
YEP
Ron Paul has neither said no or yes about having Kucinich as his running mate. Kucinich said he wants to have Ron Paul run with him and Ron Paul has said that he would vote for Kucinich if he weren't running for president. I'm sure if Ron Paul didn't want Kucinich as a running mate he would have laughed when asked. I'm pretty sure it will happen.
Before I found Dr Paul, I
Before I found Dr Paul, I was a Kucinich supporter. I liked Gravel's openness and many of his ideas but he turned me off when asked why he filed bankruptcy on $91,000 in credit card debt and he replied, something to the effect that "the credit card companies" deserved it. He may be right in principle, but it felt fiscally irresponsible to me. Having said that, I would welcome with open arms any Kucinich or Gravel supporters.

I think it would be great to have them work together. The left and the right working together instead of fighting each other. At last we could all come together and reestablish the Constitution and a strength through peace foreign policy. Then we can bicker about what to do with all the money and brainpower and manpower we'll be saving.
dream team
said it before, i'll say it again.. kucinich, gravel and paul are the only honest ones out of the whole bunch. i actually agreed with gravel on everything on that msnbc matrix they had up. i like kucinich a LOT. but paul is my guy and i'm loyal to him. i was telling someone today that i would love it if kucinich got the dem nomination and paul got the republican and when it came down to the election they were going to say, ok well we're just going to do it together, (kucinich as VP) haha. the three of them are the most HONEST candidates i've ever seen. RP08
That would be great!
I loved Gravel's honesty during the debates.Ron Paul's message of Constitutional freedom includes all Americans. We're revitalizing the Republican party (it's a BIG tent).
It's obvious to me
that Gravel and Kucinich supporters have no clue about world government, since they already accept their candidates' socialistic views....
I wonder about Gravel...
I like him, or at least I did at first, but he keeps talking about a world government and that makes me suspicious of him: http://www.lewrockwell.com/blog/lewrw/archives/016039.html
I would certainly welcome his supporters to our camp, but Ron Paul's foreign policies positions would bring us further from world government, not closer to it, so I hope this isn't a major issue with any of them...
Surprised
That really surprised me about Gravel, the video has been removed but if that quote really is acurate then I disagree with him wholeheartedly. That sounds to me like CFR talking and the New World Order.
I actually
did view the video (when it was there, apparently), and the quote is accurate, to the best of my recollection. Gravel definitely believes that we need world government. I shiver.
I apologize
I didn't realize the video was no longer available.
Dennis and Mike who?
I think the less we associate Ron Paul with these leftists, the better. They're pretty much irrelevant, and Democrats can't vote in most primaries anyway.
um, they are not irrelavent
in fact, they are important.
blue dog democrat atheist for ron paul
Kucinich would make sense but...
Who ever cared about Gravel? Of course anyone helping us is great but I was wondering why Kucinich is doing so bad. Looks like he's the only one on the dem side who is actually passionate about the change and improvement in this country. It just tells how dumb American voters are. You can buy them with anything.
I did and do
But I am in the Ron Paul ranks and would welcome any others to come on in. Waters are fine.
I've heard from a few people
I've heard from a few people that it was Gravel's speaking that woke them up to the problems with America--even a guy who just wrote a great column at my school paper against H.R. 1955. So while his supporters may be small in number, they do at least care about our civil liberties being stolen.
That may depend on us.
We should do our best to reach out. Also, I wonder if Kucinich or Gravel would endorse Dr. Paul? That would go a long way.
