9:52 p.m. -- Senate President Therese Murray is addressing Coakley supporters. We are living in difficult times. People are uncertain about the economy and health care, where we’re all headed. Martha Coakley understood that and no matter what came her way in this campaign, she stood up for what was true and what was right.
9:47 p.m. -- Chants at the Brown victory party: "Obamacare is dead," "Shock the world," and "Yes, we can."
9:46 p.m. -- “Tonight, Scott Brown made history by exceeding all expectations and defeating Martha Coakley in the heart of the Democrat Party’s political stronghold," Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele.
9:44 p.m. -- "It goes without saying that we are disappointed in tonight's result. There will be plenty of time to dissect this race and to apply the lessons learned from it ... we will continue to work tirelessly on behalf of the America people and we will redouble our efforts to lay out a clear choice for voters this November" -- Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine.
9:38 p.m. -- “I have no interest in sugar coating what happened in Massachusetts. There is a lot of anxiety in the country right now. Americans are understandably impatient" -- Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Chairman Robert Menendez.
“In the days ahead, we will sort through the lessons of Massachusetts: the need to redouble our efforts on the economy, the need to show that our commitment to real change is as powerful as it was in 2008, and the reality that we cannot take a single thing for granted and cannot afford even a second of complacency."
9:13 p.m. -- Coakley has conceded in a call to Scott Brown, according to a Brown aide.
9:09 p.m. -- At least Coakley won her hometown of North Adams, 2,854-965.

The election results
If Mr Brown votes with the ""constitution"" during this year then in a year we can celebrate.
They used Die Bold voting machines to count the vote.
Who believes the machines are not pre-programed for a predetermined outcome?
Those of us that were on board with the Ron Paul campaign all become very aware the establishment controls MSM and cannot be trusted.
The establishment lets us (the public) take turns sending democrats and then republicans to run the White House.
The establishment decides in advance who the dems and repubs will nominate to be the presidential candidates and then the public is allowed to vote for the pre-ordained establishment's chosen candidates we like.
The candidates are the actors the media spends months giving us drama and then we pretend we had a choice in the out come.
As long as we pretend we have a choice and they pretend we have a choice and they entertain us for months on end this show will continue.
Liberty is our campaigns gift to the world it is our manifest destiny.
Freedom is a movement who's time has come. Our campaign will lead world wide freedom.
It's a moot "victory".....
Just one more Neo-con Senator who will represent corporate America and completely diss his constituents. A Zero Sum gain.
Good news, bad news ...
The good news is one less Democrat in the Senate. The bad news is one more Republican. I just watched his acceptance speech and I am afraid that I did not witness the next champion of the Constitution. Sigh!
With that astute summation, case closed for me.

GOP doesn't get it
on FOX when they are talking about health care they always say something like" the people don't like it by the poll numbers". What is unbelievable is that you never hear them say that any health care bill IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL by the 4th Amendment in the Bill of Rights. Why is that not ever declared by the so-called constitutional GOP? So it seems the people are going to have to start taking their government to court at every turn to force them to uphold their oath to the Constitution.

isn't this almost exactly
the same chants we heard almost a year ago to date?
quote:"Obama" "Shock the world," and "Yes, we can."
as Mr. Nystrom says;
Hope. How's that working out for you???
Columbus, Platte Co. Nebraska
yep
the only thing voters can "Hope" for is so much infighting on Capitol Hill that NOTHING can "get done".

This really reminds me of one the original video games ...
we thought was a big deal when it first came out--Pong! However, just like in Pong, the ball just got batted back to the other paddle, again. Really, nothing is going to get better and the American People didn't win. Back and forth, back and forth.
The way that the spin is going on the MSM, Martha Coakley lost because she ran a shoddy campaign--not that the new-cons won because people don't like the president or big govt. Just you wait and see, Obama just got reprieved, if you ask me. If/when the healthcare bill goes down the tubes they won't ever pin it on him directly for being the least liked president in the history of the United States during the first year of his (only)term, or on corrupt Congress controlled by the Dem. Nor will they (the Dems) ever admit that the People just didn't want bailouts and big govt, either. It's going to be Martha's fault in the long run. That's just an opinion for now, but she will be used as a scape-goat by the Dems eventually, IMHO.
But, anyway you look at it, the People decided that instead of walking into the voracious mouth of the lion, that maybe they should turn around and march back into an even hungier mouth of a grizzly bear. No difference, really. Being eaten alive by a lion or a grizzly is still bad for your health--healthcare bill or not!
Yes,
and I have a clear conscience because I didn't do a damn thing to help him.
Antidisestablishmentarianism.
You should here all the crying going on over at the Huffington Post. The referendum on incumbents continues.
yeah...hahaha
it's not just Huffington...Washington Post and many others are already putting out articles online that this election was NOT about "Healthcare". heh
