A Shaman's Maneuver

Shamans keep nothing to themselves. To empty themselves in this fashion is a shaman's maneuver. It leads them to abandon the fortress of the self. When one has nothing to lose, one becomes courageous. We are timid only when there is something we can still cling to.

Shamanism pertains to a live world. A live world is in constant flux. It moves; it changes; it reverses itself. I fear nothing, so I will remember myself. The power of warrior-travelers is to be alert, to get maximum effect from minimal impulse. And above all, their power lies in not interfering. Events have a force, a gravity of their own, and travelers are just travelers. The moment one begins dreaming-awake, a world of enticing, unexplored possibilities opens up. A world where the ultimate audacity becomes a reality... That's the time when man's definitive adventure begins. The world becomes limitless with possibilities and wonder.

it is carlos castaneda...

and a view i have followed for decades

now, here is the way i believe this state of "being" will be applied to us:

we, as a majority of people, would never get to the point of GIVING AWAY everything we have (we continue to "cling" to things that keep us comfortable)

being realistic, i would submit that only the most deeply "religious" among us or those "seeking" true inner knowledge would freely give everything they own to seek this "peace"

we won't give it away but it will, very soon, be taken from us as our "government" forces us into socialism

more taxes are inevitable ("they" say), the hijacking of our 401k pension funds is being discussed even now to fund treasury...

when we lose everything (and if we don't fight now we could lose everything) we will be in a shaman's position

its 'cos I owe ya, my young friend...

9/11 Truth.

This sounds like something

This sounds like something Don Juan would say from the Castaneda's toltec books...

I am nearly certain it is

I was heavily influenced by those teachings, and am grateful for the truth I found there. People need to know the end of this tale, though.
Casteneda had a little sex cult going, and when he died and ordinary death in an ordinary hospital of ordinary human disease, several of the female "Warriors" committed suicide. Among them was the "Blue Scout" he claims to have brought from "another dimension." It seems he had her as a virtual sex slave, body, mind and spirit, from the time she was a teen until she killed herself, unable to survive without her god.

Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.

So true

"When one has nothing to lose, one becomes courageous. We are timid only when there is something we can still cling to."
The last earthly thing one has to lose is their life...if you are willing to give even that (as were our forefathers) then you understand freedom.

You want fries with that?
