OK, somebody PLEASE tell me!

Is it just me, or do others have an EXTREMELY annoying (bordering on IMPOSSIBLE) time trying to watch or download these CNBC video clips? I give up on them already!

Every time I try to watch one, it takes FOREVER to download even a little bit (like 15 seconds of it), maybe 5 or 6 minutes, then after playing that little bit, it takes another 5 or 6 minutes to download the next 15 seconds of video, and on and on. Worse yet, if I try to download ALL of the video (which would probably take at least an hour), it then just cycles back to the beginning of the clip, as if I had never downloaded any of it!

I guess what I am saying is that these CNBC videos do NOT download even remotely as quickly or simply as YouTube videos do, for example. Does anyone else have this same problem?

Try a different browser

Maybe use Firefox if you aren't or IE. You can try Chrome too.

Also try going directly to the CNBC website and see what happens there.

Try updating java and any other add-ons or plug-ins.

History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid.
Dwight D. Eisenhower

Thanks Temporalist, but I am already using Firefox

and had the exact same problems prior to recently changing to Firefox, when I was still using Netscape.

It is just as bad for me trying to view them when I go to CNBC's homepage, if in fact not worse.

What puzzles me is that it not only will not download the whole video in one piece, but does not even indicate how much of it has already downloaded, as a Youtube video will (and with which I have no problems at all).

Please, can anyone answer this question?

Does anyone else have a radically slower and more difficult time trying to watch these CNBC video clips than you have downloading and watching a YouTube video?

No, not at all.

It's actually quite speedy for me.
I'm on a broadband connection, comcast. But I do have some issues with certain other websites loading content in a slow manner, but this vid starts right up and runs fine.

Smacked down!

This has to be the best smack down I've ever seen Ron perform on TV! He was on fire!

Man, Ron Paul is so awesome!

Man, Ron Paul is so awesome! He better live to be like 100.

“Liberty means responsibility. That is why most men dread it.” -George Bernard Shaw

Wow! Dr. Paul butchered him!

That dude was verbally ass kicked around the field! Seriously, that was almost like a 90 year old spoiled brat kicked in the nuts repeatedly because he wouldn't shop shitting on people!

Where's his dignity!? He can't find his dignity!! Someone call another Doctor to patch this dude up, he's been violently castrated in every appendage by this one!

He looked like he got hit by a school bus! The whole damned 10 wheeled Austrian Economic school bus! I haven't seen someone go down that bad repeatedly since Pam Anderson!

This guy had more violent beatings Rodney King! I think that fucker just lost 10 years of his life after trying to argue economics with Dr. Ron Paul! Even God hesitates to argue economics with Dr. Paul because he is DR. RONALD EARNEST PAUL - ECONOMIC GENIUS.

No crisis in 75

No crisis in 75 years??????!!!!!????? What the heck is that guy smoking? He is the epitome of a politician and with his walter chronkite-like persona he is especially dangerous. No substance but has more games than a casino. Watch how he changed the subject from the economy to Texas' well being to unemployment statistics to another distracting argument to get RP off topic whenever RP was making an effective counter to the current topic. This dimwit is all for big government and wall street collusion against the people's interests. This guy and his ilk must be taken down. How do we get these chumps out of office??

No crisis in 75

Agree...Kanjorski represents some of the most inbred, moronic douchebags in America....Nepotism in State Government, home of the Cigna Health insurance thieves, and being a hideout for the NY mob is what Lackawanna county is known for.

So its no surprise he hold such a Svengalli hold on his consituents...as Forest Gump would say..stupid is as stupid votes.

Paul E Kanjorski illustrates moral hazard secrecy Vs freedom

I could be nasty and say Kanjorski is a tool for mal investment and a criminal but case in point it is the system created by secrecy of special interest. Go down the list AXA special annuity taxes heavy in the CDO market, SLM Sallie Mae like Fannie and Freddie a broke GSE that has pushed the Education (since 1980 my graduation) 7% and bankrupting our children, PMA lobbying firm FBI breaking up, Goldman, Bank of America, AIG, FMR. Do I need to say more... All of these companies thrived on making it difficult to have a free market where you could invest your own funds. They all thrived on secrecy and specials laws in pension and investment controls that propagated an industry of sinecurist that lived off dope(if informed) and government policies that gave control of OPM (other peoples money) to and industry that did nothing. Im not going to argue merits or good intentions but disclosure and transparency perhaps could help in an intelligent debate.... IMHO Keynes failed. Apparently Reich comparing Paul to Hover opens up some questions.
Most policies have an agenda for the "in the know to steal in the form of usury and inflation".. All we ask is transparency to argue to effect policy.

This is from opensecrets.org on Kanjorski. Now there is to my short information quest not a "Dodd Countrywide smoking gun" but it sure does not look good.

so the FED is independent and

so the FED is independent and makes independent decisions about monetary policy BUT if the FED is nominated by a republican his policies result in failure. wait a second, if the FED was independent wouldn't it not matter who appointed the FED chairman?

These guys can't pick which logic to use. The FED is either independent and screws up all the time or it is politicized.

I really didn't like Ron's style here

He is much more effective when he's calm, cool, and collected instead of interrupting and trying to talk over people. Yes, the other guy interrupted too but let's face it, Ron will never win in a shouting match. He looks more presidential when they go back and forth in a more congenial manner.

History...

I think that there's some past history between these two. I've never seen the Dr. go off like that! LO F'IN L!!!

If had been fighting these

If had been fighting these idiots, liars and morons as long as he has you might get a little excited also.

“Defiance of God’s Law will eventually bring havoc to a society.” - Dr. Ron Paul

I'm not happy about it

no matter what you say.

God I hope he runs in 2012.

WOW

I haven't seen him this feisty in a while. Awesome. Full of energy and logic!

Ron

ate him for lunch. That guy was stupid. No wonder we are in trouble.

been studying

this situation for over a year and that's the best the Gentleman from Penn. could do?

He needs to brush up on his talking points. It's hard to polish a turd though, I guess he did his best.

Miamisburg, Montgomery County, Ohio

Wow, Ron as on Fire!

Ron Paul for President 2012

Ron Paul is my President.

Thanks Michael , that was a slam dunk for the good Dr.

Great Video to be saved.

It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people that pay no price for being wrong.
Thomas Sowell

How is what the FED is doing

Any different that one of you guys taking ALL MY CREDIT CARDS and MAXING THEM OUT without telling me, then leaving me high and dry with the bills ? Actually they maxed out the credit cards of generations of people. They've killed
any interest on savings ? And my calling you to ask you why, where, when and how you spent all my credit is off base. Have you ever heard of anything more absurd ?

Just one last kick in the nuts, then a final deathblow

go Ron!! school that moron!

go Ron!! school that moron!

Kanjorski sure has some no-class debating techniques there.

Surprised that a congressman of his age would stoop so low to try to label Dr. Paul as gleeful that the economy is doing poorly.

He repeated states "your side" to Dr. Paul, I'm assuming he means the American people that still honor the Constitution, since Dr. Paul has repeatedly shown that he is not bound by partizanship.

I called Kanjorski's office to let them know how much he embarassed himself on national tv here:

http://kanjorski.house.gov/index.php?option=com_content&task...

.

"I have a side?" says Dr Paul, "I thought I was a lone voice in the wilderness."

Joη's picture

yeah, "Diamond Standard" Kanjorski

razor wit, he.

"You underestimate the character of man." | "So be off now, and set about it." | Up for a game?

The Times, They are a Changin'

I often think about Gandhi quote I first read in these pages: "First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win."

I love and relish the ridicule, and it will most likely intensify.

And fighting for them is unavoidable because we're taking it to them. The fighter we champion has been training for this fight for a half-century and is honing his skills to prize fighting consistency. The battle ground is the people of the fifty states; exploiting the ideological shift in our political cultures will ensure us a victory.

The peaceful r3volution barrels ahead.

Great again, but painful to listen to the idiocy!

As usual, Paul is preaching to the choir here on DP, but I say, "let him preach, and I'll turn the pages!"

It was painful and hard to take the idiocy on the part of the globalist neocon who, quite frankly, know nothing about the real causes, nor understood what Dr. Paul was explaining... that is why the "neocon expert", as they all do, resorted to the same rhetoric talking points, talking over Paul's answers!

It is the typical "expert in the studio" attempt by the network to marginalize the greatest statesman in the last 200 years!

It did not work!

It served only to reveal the ignorance of another member of congress... my, my, how did he ever get into office, and serve on a financial committee to boot! Oh.. of course the electorate voted him in... Diebold, the best election money can buy!
