I caught some of this towards the end
and went to check the scriptures to see if it was so.
Matthew 17:24-27 reads:
" And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute?
25) He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers?
26) Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free.
27) Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee."
Without trying to review all of Chuck's points on the text, I was somewhat encouraged to hear a more careful following of what is written than most preachers I've heard or read on these verses, until...he stopped at, "lest we should offend them."
What Jesus told Peter to do, is the most important part of the lesson in understanding why this unique remedy that Jesus prescribed, only applied to Jesus and Peter, and not the rest of the disciples who were with them.
Did Peter's mistaken answer to the tribute gatherers create an obligation to "give unto them for me and thee" and not the eleven others with them? Answer for yourselves. No theological or legal degrees necessary to figure this one out, folks.
If brother Baldwin has addressed this further elsewhere, (or if your reading this, Chuck), please let me know where, as I have yet to hear this text followed fully to what I believe are self-evident truths that are seldom, if ever taught!

If Ron Paul does not run I hope Baldwin does. He has my vote. He is one of very few who understandes freedom in the natural world and the spiritual world.

I voted for Chuck in 2008, in the Presidential election.
And I would vote for him again in 2012.
If Ron Paul runs in 2012, I would vote for Ron.
I'd also expect that Chuck would not run in 2012 if Ron runs. He wouldn't want to split any votes away from Ron.
If Ron doesn't run, there is no other "freedom candidate" that I know of on the scene today, that I would vote for over Chuck Baldwin.
Baldwin's hatred of homosexuals is
baggage he could never overcome. And to be so ruled by a strict Christian judgementalism about any peaceful life style says far more about the judger than the judged.
For his open bigotry and smug self righteousness I'd never trust the man. His politics are unbalanced and irrational.
There's no hatred involved..
One may condemn theft but that doesn't mean that they "hate" the thief...one may condemn prostitution but that doesn't mean they "hate" the prostitute...same with alcoholics, murderers, adulterers, homosexuals etc. Just because some particular action is considered a "sin" does not mean the person doing the action is "hated". Parents correct children all the time when they do "wrong", but that doesn't mean they hate them.

that is how I get it to mean. But when this is in the greater social realm, it will be spun as 'hate speech' no doubt.
Condemnation of the 'act' is appropriate based upon the story of the prodigal son. It is only upon those involved in the corruption to come clean of it and understand why it is wrong, that they can heal from it.
If those who are enmeshed in corruption are not confronted with their participation in it, it becomes even more virulent as we see today.

Nobody is out to outlaw it, of imprison anyone for engaging in that disgusting lifestyle. Homosexuals can do as they please; just do it without the expectation that anyone should pool their money to pay their medical bills since they engage in a risky and unwise lifestyle, shed a tear when their unbalanced and irrational lover kills them, or NOT prosecute them to the fullest extend of the law when they violate children.
Libertarianism of this most unwise and equally judgmental and hateful origin is what will keep America going down the road of the status quo.
How did I read it? Tolerance is the last "virtue" practiced before a nation goes under.

God's law is Leviticus 18:22, and Romans Chapter 1; and it still is majority opinion whether the democratic majority has a spine to elect representatives that believe and adhere to the same remains to be seen!

against homosexuals & their behavior...it is for "destroying our ability to DISCRIMINATE" as knowledgeable Christians - which would upset their ecumenical, feel good, Christian conservative movement!
"Come and bathe in our DECEPTION" they call - the LOWEST COMMON DENOMINATOR - openly gay bishops who can balance a church checkbook, it's all good! - talk about dumb sheeple!
The Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes legislation is a TOOL for the Republican Party to shut guys like me, and creationist Kent Hovind up for practicing religious FREEDOM! And any Campaign for Liberty guys who sides with I have to shut up, and 'lawfully' be forced to walk on eggshells because I might OFFEND somebody by telling them what I think is the truth about salvation, sin, vice, blessings, or cursings; bigger government versus God-given Liberty - needs to get out of the movement and go study American History.
They very well may be using it soon enough(after the November elections); if some of my understanding out there catches on; about the PURE faith of our founders - that WARNS against the spirit of PARTY over principle - that calls the Christian conservative hypocrisy into SERIOUS question by means of using scripture and
American history!
Those in DELIBERATE doctrinal error, those who compromise for the sake of "making a buck or two" off the name of Jesus, and those who would join hands and unwittingly advance tyranny when they should know better...NO! we cannot cannot just "get along" - you have to DEFEND your vote FOR "the lesser of two evils" AGAIN; which is the further imposition of an enslavement agenda upon my children; and the perpetual support for the continued THEFT of the fruits of their labors; as well as our labors!
Anyway, this is where I am today spiritually; and I see every REASON to be alarmed that I may soon lose my religious freedom and my free speech!
