We can stop Bernanke's reappointment! Official meeting spot for activism.

We can stop his reappointment! All we have to do is work together and contact the Senators who are still undecided on how they will vote for Bernanke, and demand they vote no. Here is a list of Senators who are still undecided. Please help send a message to the Fed by stopping his reappointment! If anyone can do anything to help such as provide fax/phone numbers that would be great. Also if anyone can provide any anti Bernanke flyers to fax, that would be amazing. Post your ideas here on what other actions we can take to stop Bernanke. Let's get to work patriots!

Vote time??

Anyone know what time the snakes will be voting tomorrow?? Contact your Senators first thing tomorrow morning. Even if they have said they will vote for Bernanke, make sure they change their mind! Thanks for the hard work everyone.

28th

Following morning business, the Senate will resume consideration of H.J.Res. 45, Debt Limit, as provided for under the previous order. As a result, at approximately 10:30am on Thursday there will be a series of 5 roll call votes in relation to the following items:

- Brownback amendment (Commission)
- Sessions-McCaskill amendment #3308 (spending caps)
- Reid amendment #3305 (paygo)
- Baucus (for Reid) amendment #3299 (substitute)
- Passage of H.J.Res. 45, Debt Limit.

Following those votes, there will be an hour for debate prior to a vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Ben S. Bernanke, of New Jersey, to be Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.

Thanks!

Thanks for the info! Hit the Senate before this happens!

I just checked my email

I just checked my email, and Campaign for Liberty sent some info on this, but not until today, at 4pm! Oddly, with the same audit the fed posts on the top of the the front page, this URGENT issue(same as before the health care vote) wasn't fit for the front page, let alone the top? I realize this movement isnt a democracy or even a republic, I'm simply offering what I hope will be seen as a constructive opinion. Again, I am grateful for each and EVERY individual who has contributed in any way to restoring our republic, never let it be thought otherwise! We are in this together, and I hope we can respect one another even when we disagree.

However, does anyone else sense a bit of a disconnect between rhetoric and urgent action(where ounces at the right time can outdo pounds, maybe tons, of plodding) in many areas of the liberty movement? NUMBERS are very important in politics, and not all of the troops can be crack commandos like army rangers, navy seals, the mossad, etc, and be on top of every deadline. Some of us may benefit from a heads up at times. No?

If you doubt this is/was urgent, I'll paste the C4L email and let them do the talking. Or maybe they were assigning too much importance to using Bernanke's confirmation as a weapon of leverage toward auditing the fed? I'd rather hear some of these posters call C4L(Ron Paul himself?) wrong rather than think they are just putting the OP in their place. On that note, I want to thank you, Liberty Mike, for the post! Here is the C4L email:

January 27, 2010

Dear C4L Member,

The critical vote for Ben Bernanke will come tomorrow. That’s when the Senate will vote on Harry Reid’s cloture motion.

Please call and email your senators (information is below) and continue to insist:
“No Audit? No Bernanke!”
But we also need to send another message, and that is:
“A vote for cloture IS a vote for Bernanke.”
That’s because some senators are looking to hide behind “voting for Bernanke before voting against him.”

You see, if Reid wins his cloture vote (requiring 60 senators), he only needs a simple majority on the final vote to confirm.

That gives nine senators political cover, while still putting Bernanke back in charge of the Fed -- with no transparency.

And they’ll actually think their “anti-Bernanke” vote will make you happy! That’s why it’s so important you call and email your senators now, and make sure they don’t try this cheap trick.

Remind them:

1) “No Audit? No Bernanke!”
2) “A vote for cloture IS a vote for Bernanke.”

Senator Mark Udall: 202-224-5941 click to email

C4L has launched a nationwide effort against a bailout for Bernanke, including phone calls, email, and banner ads targeting over a dozen swing-vote senators.

As a matter of fact, you have put so much pressure on the Senate that Politico is reporting today that a senior Obama administration official is asking, “Is the minority [i.e. Republican] leader Ron Paul?”

One of our banner ads even ran with The Huffington Post article describing the cloture deal Senate leadership is trying to cut with fellow Democrats:

After a full year of rope-a-dope and refusing to have his Federal Reserve audited, Ben Bernanke is on the ropes and could be knocked out for renomination.

Now is the time to deal the knockout blow!

Please immediately call and email your senators below:

Senator Michael Bennet: 202-224-5852 click to email
Senator Mark Udall: 202-224-5941 click to email

Tell them that Ben Bernanke must not be confirmed without an up or down, roll call vote for Audit the Fed on the Senate floor.

And make sure they know that a vote for cloture is a vote FOR Bernanke. Remind them that you will hold them accountable for how they act on this critical vote.

This fight comes to a head tomorrow, Thursday. Please call and email now.

In Liberty,

John Tate
President

P.S. Thanks to the efforts of patriots like you, Ben Bernanke's days of secrecy at the Federal Reserve may be numbered!

Senate leaders are cutting deals to ensure they win the cloture vote, but you can make the difference by contacting your senators immediately and telling them to vote NO on cloture!

C4L sent out the info for my Senators Boxer and Feinstein

I sent them both e-mails and had a friend make a phone call to Boxer.

Here is mine sent to both my Senators -- Udall & Bennet

Senator Bennet,

I'm taking the time to write you today to urge you to vote NO on Ben Bernanke's confirmation hearing. Mr. Bernanke has been the head Chief in charge of the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression hit this country almost a century ago.

Jobs have disappeared from this great nation at a staggering rate. The Federal Reserve is charged with keeping unemployment low. Mr. Bernanke has failed with this task.

Additionally, Ben Bernanke has purposefully and willfully refused to adhere to President Obama's promise of transparency. Mr. Bennet, do you support transparency or do you support secrecy for the nations greatest frauds?

Senator Bennet, I do not support Ben Bernanke. I will not support any elected official who will back Ben Bernanke.

This is a hot button issue Senator. We the people have no moral hazards about firing any elected official who supports Wall Street over Main Street. Your actions will be closely monitored tomorrow and rest assured should you vote to reappoint Ben Bernanke your constituents will be quick to send you back to Colorado just as quickly as you arrived.

JUST SAY 'NO' SENATOR

Even though both have already

Even though both have already committed to voting for him

Block Bernanke - Audit the Fed!

What is the point?

It is not the man running the FED that matters. It is the fact that the FED exist at all or that the simple requirement in the Constitution that gold and silver coins can only be legal tender in the States is in fact ignored. (Article 1, Section 10) When was the last time that in any State in the Union that you paid or were paid in gold or silver coins?

"Bend over and grab your ankles" should be etched in stone at the entrance to every government building and every government office.

By throwing out the current

By throwing out the current chair, we draw more attention to the fact that the FED is failing us. More people will pay attention than if he is re-confirmed. It's all part of the process.

I think all a change will do is make people think the problem is

solved.

It is the same thing that happens when people finally get fed up with their Representative or Senator and vote him out; his replacement just ends up doing what the predecessor did, i.e., bring us more government.

Putting in a new FED Chairman simply endorses the ideas that the FED is legitimate and can be a positive force in our lives, both of which are false.

"Bend over and grab your ankles" should be etched in stone at the entrance to every government building and every government office.

Nope, we'll just get saddled with a new idiot who doesn't

understand that the very existence of his post is the problem.

Welcome the new guy, same as the old...

Do you really expect transperancy from this crook??

With him as head, what are the chances of actually ENDING the fed?

What are you fightin' for?
Caught in the middle?
Freedom is only for those with the guts to defend it!

D4L, are you honestly of the delusion that anyone else proffered

as the Fed chairman for confirmation would be transparent enough to END the FED?

Seriously?

He would have absolutely no reason to. None. No one who understands economics from the Austrian perspective ever has or will get to be Fed chairman. Nor, I presume, would they ever take the job.

Besides, 'ol Ben needs to go down with the ship. It is only fitting if he's at the helm when it implodes. And potentially, if there is a big backlash and Bernanke doesn't get confirmed and the next guy makes changes, or appears to be someone "friendly" to our cause (even though he won't be for the reasons I stated above) then when the SHTF, it will get blamed on US and the media will spin and wonder, would Helicopter Ben have saved us?

LOL

A new one will be worse than this one trust me...its not like we get to pick the next guy.
