I am a Muslim and I can easily tell you that Islam does not force women to wear veils that cover the face. Quran states that a woman must wear modestly and each culture take their own definition on what modest is. Bosnian muslim women don't wear veils while people in Saudi Arabia do. In Iran women wear veils differently. It is more cultural than religious.

the burqa ban is the most absurd prohibition ever. good god. does the typical european realize it is way more oppressive to fine and imprison a woman for wearing something she chooses to wear? yes, that's right. most muslim women choose to wear burqas and head scarves. get over it.

HOW DARE THEY propose this! Maybe next they will have all Muslims wear a gold star on their lapel! Or maybe all Christians will be forced to walk around naked. Or maybe anyone who is not French will have to be walked with a leash! GRRRRR..... typical politicians.... CLUELESS
