I wrote the following letter to Senator Bill Nelson -- hopefully he will respond.

Dear Senator Bill Nelson

I am writing to encourage you to vote against the confirmation of Ben Bernanke, and
Co-sponsor the S. 604 Federal Reserve transparency bill.

As you know many Florida residents are suffering from the economic crisis. My wife lost her job last year and we have lost our home – it is in foreclosure proceedings as I write. I have asked you to support S 604 on several occasions but you have chosen to ignore my requests.

The economic melt-down has been traced directly to the actions of Ben Bernanke/Greenspan of the Federal Reserve and others in the US Treasury Department. It was their job to prevent the financial calamity we find ourselves in today. They are responsible for the biggest theft in world history.

I have a couple of questions: If, as our financial leaders have claimed, the world economy was on the brink of collapse therefore requiring massive amounts of tax dollars, why did the US taxpayers have to foot the whole bill and prop up foreign companies/governments? Why did the citizens of foreign countries get a free ride? Did our leaders ask the leaders of foreign countries to do their part and pony-up? It appears that our government is putting everyone else’s best interest above ours.

This looks like it will turn out to be nothing.

If climate gate proved anything its that emails don't mean anything. Nobody will loose their job over it.

What does it prove that he disagreed with his subordinates. Last time I checked my boss doesn't have to listen to his subordinates.

On the other hand if this were an email to or from Goldman sachs or if it mentions them...maybe they have something.

Unless there is fraud or a conflict of interest demonstrated this sounds like capital hill politics at the its worsted. And that is something I really really don't want to be associated with.

Geithner was never meant to last long.

If Bernanke doesn't return, a shiny new scheister will replace him and have the temporary benefit of blinding everyone while their eyes adjust.

I didn't go to digg or reddit!

But as far as I can see the only one providing information on the subject is the zerohedge one. And yes I read it.

oh and phathead doesn't mean thick skull or anything...it could mean quite the opposite; a large brain or maybe its just referring to a different "head" all together. Either way I see no reason to get personal and start dragging my name through the mud. I didn't say anything out of line and if I am wrong will gladly admit it when sufficient evident arises to support that case. If I missed something point it out.

those emails provided lots of extra news coverage for what scientists where doing behind closed doors. They would have taken more control if it had not been for those emails.
In this case Bernanke is already getting negative attention, some more of this caliber even if it will only amount to speculation in the news, is worthwhile.

So just to set it straight. Yes extra attention on the fed is good. But no one cares. When you have the likes of Warren Buffet going around saying Bernanke is the messiah crap isn't going to change. Everybody wants to give bj's to billionaires especially in the media and congress. The majority of this population is obedient and only listens to their overlords and the talking heads. They don't trust the likes of rothbard, mises, and Paul...they don't want to even think for themselves.

So if I am wrong (which is very likely, I am not clairvoyant) who are they going to appoint? In my view the best fed chairmen was Volcker then we got Greenspan and then we got Benny B. This is a continuous downward trend. So won't the odds be the next ass clown they put in that spot be worse than Ben? What you really think the puppet masters are going to go with an Austrian? Didn't Greenspan write good stuff about gold and wasn't he a Randian objectovist?

I don't think one ass clown is better than the others. In my view, Volcker appeared to be better than Greenspan who appeared to be better than Bernanke, not because they're not equally bad but because the results of their combined meddling with the economy have consistently thrown this country into a downward spiral. Bennie is just coming into the picture when things are really starting to collapse. His replacement (if he has one) will probably look even worse.
