Blimp takeoff postponed?

I've heard that the takeoff is postponed due to delay in delivery of the graphics from CA. I live an hour away from elizabeth city, nc and want to be there for it. I don't see any updates on the website so I'm not sure what the truth is. Any help out there?

Ron Paul Blimp

I heard the same thing on a youtube video. The video is no longer posted so everything might be back on schedule.

The blimp website shows a Departure Jamboree in Asheville:

Sun, Dec 9, 12:00pm - 11:30pm
City County Plaza, Downtown Asheville, NC

Then, a caravan departing from Asheville to Elizabeth City

Mon, Dec 10, 8am - 8am
City County Plaza, Downtown Asheville, NC
Departs Asheville for Elizabeth City, NC - ETA 5pm.

Then a rally in Elizabeth City

Mon, Dec 10, 5:00pm - 11:30pm
Tcom Drive, Elizabeth City, NC

There was a youtube video

I saw a youtube video where the head guy said there was a delay with getting the graphics from California. He said they were going to have some kind of all day event in Asheville and then caravan to the blimp site on Monday morning.

I tried searching youtube but can't find it again. They had a whole series of video answers to all kinds of questions.

It is puzzleing why they don't post these videos on the blimp site.

I'm surprised

I'm surprised that there hasn't been more attention given to the blimp on their website. I commend the efforts of these individuals to pull off such a coup, and I don't really want to interfere with their effort as they seem to know what they are doing. I am, however, curious with regards to how the decals are being placed, times of take-off, etc.

I would think that they would be posting some sort of progress on their blog. Why aren't they posting pics? Why aren't they changing their website to something a little more media friendly?

I'm sure there are legal and contractual issues at play, so I'll leave it there. I just wanted to let them know that people are curious--that's all.

The big news of the day is that with a 36 hour rush of support, the Ron Paul Blimp is go for takeoff. There were some doubts after the slow financial start and the speculation of false pledges, but as usual, Ron Paul supporters [more]

The site you refer to

looks fishy. The Washington Post link doesn't even work. And the story reference the time when they were taking pledges and not donations. The blimp will fly.
