I just tuned in. Mr. Burton just asked if Mr. Geithner would be supportive of an annual audit of the Fed. Geithner gave a vague answer but as the Congressman's time was up he made the comment "I'll take that as a yes".

Like I said I just tuned in.

Paulson said the Fed has the ability to print money, but would like the Fed to answer those questions, and not him! Paulson you scum bag, covering up for the Fed! You should be in prison!

The other question I would like to see addressed is... how could we have avoided getting into a situation where a bailout was required in the first place? Who was responsible for the atmosphere that allowed blatant corruption and circumvention of the law to create a financial disaster that required emergency actions?

Actually, he may be right: the initial hurt would have been a hard blow. The problem is that we haven't cleaned our wound yet -- it is still festering and in the end we will be much worse off than we would have been if we had taken the first hit. Instead of a great deal of pain but a healed wound, now we will be forced to amputate.
