FOCUS!!! We have ONE COMMON GOAL... right?

Now, how many of you can come up with that common goal? I will get to it in just a minute. First I will tell you a few things about what I think and why.
EDIT: BE WARNED! I am about to try to "get your goad." If you are not up to it, skip the first three paragraphs, after them is where I get to the point.
I think 9-11 is the cornerstone to bringing down the whole house of cards. I will not support, in any way, any candidate who can not speak intelligently about that event. They do not have to "agree" per se, but nearly every politician wants us all to pretend it did not happen. It happened. It made a lot of toher things happen, and I want to know what they think about it all. Do I need to discuss it here? Not any more. There was a time, but now all it does is start fights.
I think HAARP is THE weapon of mass destruction. Look at the patents, and see what we KNOW it can do. You don't get a patent by telling someone "I think it will do this." Now, do I need to discuss it here? Not any more, all it does is start fights.
I think health care freedom is the ultimate in personal freedom, and I want the freedom to decide if and when my DNA is combined with someone else's, and if that decision is violently taken from me, I know I have the natural right to make a remedy. Most folks here think I am a baby killer. So be it. Do I need to discuss it here? Not any more. All it does is start fights.
I think self sufficiency is the only true form of freedom and everyone ought to stop fighting and just start farming. I think the Constitution is just a prettier description of involuntary servitude, and I believe a life of "an-archy" - without rulers - is my birthright. Do I need to discuss it here? Not any more, all it does is start fights.
So, there once were many delightful conversations going on here, and much was learned and many friends were made. But the place is overrun with people who like to fight, and I know I am a hot-tempered little number myself so I do not accuse all the fighters of being trolls. I can quit coming here, I don't do much but lurk any more. Or we can try to put all our differences aside, and concentrate on the ONE GOAL we have in common. So, what might that ONE THING be? If you cannot agree with this one thing...
Liberty.
We want liberty, right?
I mostly want mine, but I know I can't have it unless you have yours. So I want your liberty as if it were my own. They way to liberty is to cut ties with the people keeping you enslaved. Agreed?
Now, there is a little thing that does an end run around auditing or ending the Fed, and that is competing currencies. It is the "free market" solution. No more arguments about gold standards, or the need of the Fed to be "independent" or the market chaos that ending the Fed would cause...
HR 4248 could really be quite the focal point for this movement. There is not one thread about it currently. Why?
Now, if we want to seriously work through some of the areas where we have deep disagreements, that is a beautiful thing, but it DOES divide our focus.
So, how about it? Can everyone from Liberty-Belle to Octobox get on board with a full-scale assault to legalize competing currencies?
Note: I still believe the other conversations ought to continue. I simply think people who do not like them ought to NOT participate. Allow those who are curious about different topics to discuss them without hassling them. You all are worse than the jackbooted thugs at the RNC. At least they just stood around and looked menacing, you people actually get in and fight to try to make people stop talking, because you don't like the topic. Very odd...

If we don't like something

then we shouldn't participate with
our views?
Yeah,that's freedom. Ignore this-
I'm not really here

can one person explain...

how this will help Americans? --of course the taxes would be zero is this passes... on gold/silver coins that are purchased, but how does this help most people?

There must be a way to get people on board with this... but to explain it in a way that makes them motivated to call their representatives only will happen if they see how it will help them...

So.. how can will this help them if they never buy a gold or silver coin> ?

or ..how will this help a business person? or will it?

Excellent Idea!

Let's get to it!
I'm off to follow your links and Jdyah's links below...

**the soul would have no rainbow if the eyes had no tears**

Can you (or someone who knows) Please list the top 10

reasons why this bill will help the economy?

Reasons we can use to sell our congressman on co-signing it... Once they see it is good for both their career, and for the US economy... many will co-sign...

but if they either don't clearly understand why, or they can not easily explain it to their constituents, they may hesitate to co-sign.

If we are all calling, faxing, eamailing them-- what can be said that will make sense enough to them, that will convince them to sign on to this legislation?

Thanks...this will help out considerably

Yes, please

I am having difficulty pulling something wisely succinct together on this...a list of talking points would be great:)

All the talking points we need are right here:

I have to admit paul4one that

I have to admit paul4one that competing currencies would do more for our economy than anyone would ever believe, but it will take many of us just to start exchanging it with each other without asking for a law to give us permission. Many people wonder "how do I know what the exchange rate is?" while we all know that soon we will completely decouple the value of the USD with PM at this time in order to facilitate exchanging pm for goods we can use this site that would help us figure out the USD/PM value

http://www.silverandgoldaremoney.com/

It's a beta version website developed by some GATA folks, Catherine Austin Fitts being one of them

"You all are worse than....

You people...." Why do you always talk like that?

So you'd like us to petition the government for permission?

"Why do you always..."

Fr the same reason you did that. I am not always as precise with my words as I ought to be. Why not seek for what is good rather than pick at errors?

Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.

You people...."

A friend on Facebook posted this founding father wisdom:

“The best thing to give to your enemy is forgiveness; to an opponent, tolerance; to a friend, your heart; to your child, a good example; to a father, deference; to your mother, conduct that will make her proud of you; to yourself, respect; to all men, charity.” ~Benjamin Franklin~
I believe this speaks to the first part of this post--
Liberty is the most important and should be our main goal.
So I very much AGREE, Paul4Won!

:)

Liberty.

"We want liberty, right?" -

"We want liberty, right?" - paul4won

A nice chant, but some are afraid of their fellow man,and will trade/has traded liberty for safety.
No one alive today has experienced the amount of liberty that was fought for,and as each generation goes by there is less and less.

13 No servant can serve two masters; for either he shall hate the one, and love the other, or else he shall lean to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and riches. - Luke 16

Okay,

I've admitted on numerous occasions that economics is not my strong point. I placed a small article in my local newspaper about HR4248 last month. I got a very nasty response back, by a person whom I believe was one of those reported as sending articles to various newspapers throughout the country, although the negative response COULD have been from a local resident. (I was instructed that if I wanted to use competing currencies I should move out of the USA). Anyway, if someone could explain to me in very simple language the benefits of this bill, how it would work for the common man (information along these lines)...then I will try one more time to get this information out to the masses here in Pennsylvania...

BAN ELECTRONIC VOTING!!

The most simplistic way I view it...

It is the "free market" solution to the clear difference of opinion in how the nation's finances ought to be handled. Those who tell us we cannot reutrn to a gold standard have valkid ponts: this does not require ONLY a "gold" standard. "End the Fed" is a great chant, but not an answer. This allows the Fed to continue, as is. If they really are the best way, the free market will gravitate to them. If they really are lying scum, this will allow honest people to complete.
I hope that helps!

Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.

Thanks for

responding, Paul4won...I am sending this to my inbox to prepare another submission to my local newspaper...

Well said, Paul4won!

Okay, I'll help with this effort! I have this post bookmarked to review the bill later. I just woke up and have to go out soon!

Hugs!

This may not be getting a lot of hits, but I just love the people who are responding. They are the ones that will drive the engine...

Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.

aparently people do not want to see competing

currencies... or they don't read the thread to the very bottom... and realize that is the issue you are speaking about getting behind...

Edited jday, thanks.

Thanks for dragging this out of obscurity. I was pretty discouraged by the lack of response, thanks for giving it another round. I edited to try to improve it's chances of getting read.
I was glad that at least people did not "take the bait" and try to argue with me about the things I am offering to lay aside on this site, if we would give this bill the time and attention it deserves.

Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.

Hear,Hear!

A common goal and direction,If you can't contribute positive thoughts ignore it or go start a negative thread of your own. What a concept!

If I disappear from a discussion please forgive me. My 24-7 business requires me to split mid-sentence to serve them. I am not ducking out, I will be back later to catch up.

Positive thoughts- I've noticed that

many here are narrow minded in
what they construe to be "positive"
thoughts. There is more than one way to skin a cat.

Competing currencies as in continue
to use fiat paper and electronic blips? Hasn't that system failed enough times over the centuries to convince one that it is folly to try again?
We need a "money" that has value in
and of itself. Natives on islands
used rare seashells which were,to them,
as accepted as gold and silver have been to others for thousands of years.
Of course there is also the option of
horses,goats,grain,etc.
However, the beauty of metal is that it is easily carried, doesn't die or
get eaten, doesn't break as a shell is apt to.

Gold and silver have proven themselves in virtually ALL societies
for millenia. It is politicians and
other "controllers" who have interfered
with the continued use and acceptance
of metals as the exchange medium.
In the past governments have been unable to continue,or even start, wars
or expansion plans because they ran
out of,or didn't have, gold and silver.
Leaderships found a way to solve that little problem by turning to that guy
Guttenberg's invention.
Furthermore, we would learn to live within our means. Credit would be
given by private persons and firms.
THEY would decide who's trustworthy,
and defaults would be their problem;
NOT ours.
We,as a whole, must not be held
hostage to the failings and
inadequacies of others!! We must be
able to succeed,or FAIL, based on our
own desires,wants,needs,ambitions,etc.
If we run into difficulties,well,
then we turn to friends and family.
Maybe we can turn to others for help,
but it should NOT be a right or expected. Others can help if they wish,
but the burden must not be placed on all by law or decree.
These are a few of the things that
are part of freedom,in my view.

Well said!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So the first step is to get as many co-signors to this bill as possible... are there any so far? And where do we go to find out how many there are and to see updates on this bills progress>?? (is it the link you have there?)

Ok, for those of you who are reluctant to click the link above... please read this...
an excerpt from the article link above....

...Federal law currently mandates short-term capital gains rates of up to 35 percent for coins and long-term capital gains taxes of 28 percent, which Ron Paul argues is a hindrance to competitive currencies. H.R. 4248 would eliminate taxes on "any coin, medal, token, or gold, silver, platinum, palladium, or rhodium bullion" as well as restrict states from assessing taxes and fees "on any currency."

Finally, the legislation would eliminate laws that prohibit the operation of private mints, and retroactively end prosecutions and convictions of citizens who have been charged with such. Ron Paul specifically discussed this aspect of the bill as well as the raids on Liberty Dollar when he introduced the legislation.
