Dallas Morning News: "Medina and her aides believe they can win."

As much as these liberal BELO corporate newspapers hate to admit it their articles are increasingly starting to reflect many signs and comments that Debra Medina could take this race for governor and win it...

Medina a wild card in governor's race

By CHRISTY HOPPE / The Dallas Morning News

AUSTIN – Debra Medina has come out of far right field to add some fire and suspense to the GOP governor's primary, and many believe, tilt the outcome.

During tonight's debate, sponsored by The Dallas Morning News and Belo Corp. television stations, she is again ready to challenge the state's Republican titans, Gov. Rick Perry and U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison. Medina's message: that she is the sole straight-talking, steadfast conservative.

Will tonight's debate be streamed on the internet?

Anyone know?

Thank you for your coverage on Debra Medina, albeit measured so as not attract the ire of the GOP elite. We all have to watch our backs.

I would argue that Medina is not in the “far right field.” She strongly advocates adherence to the US Constitution. I would not describe Thomas Jefferson a far right politician.

Medina is indeed “the sole straight-talking, steadfast conservative.”

“Few believe she could surpass either Hutchison or Perry and make the runoff…” is an editorial comment perhaps designed to please the GOP elite. The media should leave it up to the electorate to decide and not prejudge. The voters will decide, but they do not need to be discouraged or nudged into a different direction.

Daron Shaw might be a political science professor, but Debra Medina is no Ross Perot, much as I admire Ross Perot. I cannot ever remember Perot mentioning abortion, gun rights or the US Constitution. Ross Perot was an independent. Debra Medina has a long history in GOP politics, as your article correctly points out.

“Medina's support is probably coming from Perry's highly cultivated conservative pockets – gun-rights, state-sovereignty, Tea Party loyalists – and from Hutchison's target of voters looking for a change and fatigued by Perry's long tenure, Shaw said.” This is a very astute observation.

Your coverage of her debate performance was very good and, again Shaw added poignant comment. Your summary of her positions was also on the money, and you have no idea how much we appreciate it.

“Medina’s platform reflects an ideological purity, though not necessarily what is politically possible.” Rather, her platform reflects a Constitutional purity and very much in line with the GOP platform in Texas, except for the fact that other GOP candidates routinely ignore the platform.

I applaud Belo for inviting Medina to participate in the debate. Now we have a real debate on our hands. Belo and KERA have brought integrity back to the debating process, once firmly in the hands of the League of Women Voters, but then hijacked by the two constituents of our one party state.

Professional and compelling.

Professional and compelling. I know newspaper reporters, this is how they need to be spoken to.

10-15 million more voters need to believe in non-interventionism (liberty) at home and abroad to change America. Minds changed on Syria. Minds changing on privacy. "Printing money" is part of the dialogue. Win minds through focus, strategy.

Great Job, Thanks!

Your effort is much appreciated by patriots across America.

Will tonight's debate be on C-Span, like the last one was?

A fresh, new poliitcal breeze

A fresh, new poliitcal breeze is sweeping across Texas in the form of We The People.
There is finally a candidate in the race for Governor that will stand and speak for We Texans.
May God bless We Texans with the election of Debra Medina as our next Governor.
But also remember, God helps those who helps themselves so we need boots on the ground, donations and on election day to get out the vote. We need 300,000 votes in Texas to win!
Early voting starts on the 16th of Feb.
Primary voting is on March 2, which is also Texas Independence Day.
The second debate is tonight Jan. 29th at 7PM. Be sure and watch!

The Above Link has an S (secure) in it

The server that is on port 443 for the regular web page has a certificate on it for VPN services - not a website.

So when you use the S (secure) version it goes to thier vpn server not the website.

Typically you make your default 443 site also point to the regular main site - but they have it pointed to thier vpn server. (or the vpn server certificate was wrongly deployed to the server.)

This link is the normal plain security link

My bad. Link corrected. But I hear they are upgrading...

...the site to handle they traffic from the dedate tonight.

Has anyone had trouble

Has anyone had trouble getting to Debra Medina's website? I have been trying all morning to get on her website and it will not load. That could be good news that people are excited about the debate. Or the establishment has hacked her website. I am just trying to donate 25 bucks. Sigh.....
