How do We Create a New Free economy?

This thread is for amassing ideas and techniques for starting up the free economy. We all agree there is no political solution, the parasites in DC and on Wall street will not and do not want to fix the problem so we are going to have to do it!

We talk a lot about what's wrong it's time to start focusing on what WE CAN DO to fix it because nobody else is going to.

So lets hear every idea for doing it! Lets brain storm. No Idea is insignificant, so even if it's just a thought throw it out there it might spark someone else to expand on it etc.

Here are some seed thoughts to get things going feel free to add to them also.

How do we avoid the revenuers (tax collectors)?
How do we operate outside the banking system?
How do we barter and trade without the revenuers stealing a cut?
How do we become more self sufficient and less reliant on the system?
How do we get out of debt discharge our mortgages etc? (If we could do this the rest would be easy)?
How do we undermine the current system and especially thier agents who enforce the oppression without ending up in jail?

We talk a lot and many of us do some of these things already along these lines but how do we come together and really create an underground economy, take it to the next level so to speak?

Let's try to focus on the "how too" if we can?

Hopefully this thread will become long and bumped often

I love this guy -- he's truly wise.

He focuses mostly on meat and dairy animals; I'd like to have links to the Salatin of multi-crop bio-dynamic veggie production.

FREE FARMERS REPUBLIC - the "high" pursuit

All native crops and species have several units of output harvestable by people; currency is simply the most liquid medium of exchange produced from each individual community. Some communities may find their Maranga trees are more vital for sustaining their eco-system, so the Maranga seed becomes the premium currency for that area. Whether or not Marangas would be sustainable within the adjacent areas to that community would determine the liquidity preferences to value that seed on exchanges held between communities from different regions.

A Free Farmers Republic would have to take sufficient care of their seeds as all local productivity would be based on useable seeds. Diversity and longevity would be key in sustaining seed production which means only the most versatile crops would be eligible as sufficient currencies… as others fail to grow, or become overly invasive in other regions.

Does anybody know what crop might just produce the widest range of outputs, sustain several different regions, and survive the conditions necessary for the largest liquidity pool status.

I think I do….. Roll one up and think about it.

But what we have to remember:

Monsanto is the ecological equivalent of the federal reserve system as they artificially create seeds and monopolize seed banks and consolidate resources in the guise of productive agriculture. If you want to decentralize the means of production to sustain local resources than it is time to go agrarian. It is time for permaculture through the church, through schools, through business.

I will say it a trillion times if I have to, a new way of life is the only way to win.

Desktop manufacturing = "wealth without money"

Who needs imports from China when you can manufacture your own plastic and electronics products from your desktop computer and a local rapid prototype machine?

Check out the open-source manufactuing system RepRap self-replicating rapid-prototyper. ("wealth without money")
http://reprap.org

Imagine if everyone in America who owned a computer also had access to their own manufacturing capability? This would have a huge impact on our trade deficits!

This is great stuff there is

This is great stuff there is other stuff like CNC machines and even farm equipment cars, etc. in the works that are open source like these, this is definitely the future, decentralization of manufacturing so everything is made locally could bring peace to the earth. Need a part? Download the software and bang it out on your reprap or cnc machine.

Thanks For This Thread Hawkiye !

A real Revolution does not have to be violent, in my opinion. A peaceful Revolution, by the Patriotic few, only has to be able to cut off the "Power Supply " that runs the entrenched failing system that causes deaths, hunger, fear, and misery, around the world.

What powers the world ? I'm not talking about electricity, or oil !
I'm talking about money !

This is what Ron Paul has focused on for almost 35 years now, in a public manner.

Dr. Paul has introduced countless pieces of legislation in Congress, hoping other elected officials will see the light about U.S. monetary policy, and join him on enforcing Constitutional guidelines, when it comes to money.

Here is his latest attempt at awakening the sleeping giant. { Majority of Americans }:

http://www.coinnews.net/2009/12/14/ron-paul-bill-seeks-coin-...

Now, here is my idea:

Ron Paul is a bona-fide American Hero, in my opinion!
So why not honor him?

Introduce a " LEGAL" Ron Paul commemorative coin set!

One set could be a 1 ounce, 1/2 half ounce, 1/4 ounce and 1/10th ounce set of .999 Gold coins wrapped in a clear protective covering, to prevent wear.

And one set of 1 ounce, 1/2 ounce, 1/4 ounce and 1/10th ounce .999 Silver coins wrapped in protective covering.

This site has the right idea, but I would like to change their coin slightly:

http://www.c4lcoin.com/

Changes: Engrave 2012 under the Ron Paul heads side of the coin.
{ This would help promote a 2012 Presidential run nationwide, for our choice for President in 2012 }

And omit the word "Fifty" on the back of the coin because that may represent a value to some people.
Commemorative coins are valued by scarcity, condition, and free market supply and demand.

Now, what purpose would these commemorative coins serve?
1. Promote a 2012 Presidential run.
2. Honor Ron Paul for many, many years to come.
3. Act as a legal barter type currency for anybody that wants to trade goods or services for these Silver and Gold commemorative coins. Value could be determined by weight of Gold/Silver metal in relation to products or services.

Examples: 1/10th ounce Silver coin for a dozen eggs.
1 one ounce Gold coin for a downpayment on a used car to a private party.

This system could be further expanded by using an "Honest" electronic ownership transfer system, similar to this system already in use since 2001:

http://goldmoney.com/index.html

This system allows "Approved" merchants and buyers to exchange goods and services from the comfort of your own home computer or Iphone, using the internet. { Think of how ATM machines work to understand this system }

Thank you for reading.

I'd love this to work, but how does

it fit with Griffin's caution of a likely confiscation of gold/silver by the government when they become more desperate?

Contrary to popular belief, the government has never

"confiscated" gold and silver on a massive scale. The only cases I can find involved the possession of coins that were never released by the mint, but were in fact "stolen." The example that comes to mind are the several 1933 dated $20 Double Eagles. None of these were released for circulation and did not become "coined money of the United States." They technically are not legal tender. The Secret Service considers them, when they are in private hands, to be "counterfeit."

Other than that, I think you are referring to the E.O. issued by FDR in March of 1933, wherein he allegedly "ordered" Americans to "turn in their gold." No such thing ever occurred. Nor could it.

Yes, he did issue that E.O. Yes it does contain language which APPEARS to order Americans to do so, but in reality an E.O. only applies to EXECUTIVE BRANCH EMPLOYEES. Thus the name Executive Order. An E.O. is an order by the President to the employees under his authority on how to do their job. (he cannot even order that they for example turn in their PERSONAL gold) His E.O. in question was an order that AS EMPLOYEES in their CAPACITY as EMPLOYEES, that they were to turn over all gold coin in their possession AS EMPLOYEES, to the Treasury, and were not to pay out any such coins in the course of their jobs AS EMPLOYEES.

What does this mean more precisely? If you were say in the Forestry Service at the time, and you had in your possession, gold coins to be used for various purchases given to you by the Comptroller of the Currency, upon a requistion for certain office expenses, then you had to turn that BACK into the Treasury at once and could not spend them on any office expense.

If you were in fact the Comptroller of the Currency, you had to turn any coins you had to the Treasury, and could not pay out any such coins to any agency, department, or employee.

If you were a bank in the Federal Reserve system, you were defined by law as a U.S. person in the employ of the U.S. government that this E.O. applied to and so you also as a bank had to turn over all gold to the treasury and could not pay any out.

The EO was intentionally worded in a deceptive manner and was reported to the general public in a deceptive manner, so as to fool and trick the American people into turning over their own property to the government in exchange for worthless paper that promised to pay absolutely nothing. (in reality)

People were told this was their "duty" and that anyone who refused was a "hoarder" and was hurting the economy. What it really meant, was that the U.S. was bankrupt and its creditors wanted to be paid. Since they couldn't politically raise the taxes needed, and there wasn't even enough money in the whole economy to do so, they 'tricked' everyone into giving their money to Uncle Sam, and used that as security to their creditors without having to pay them the entire amount.

There is no record that I can find of anyone being arrested or prosecuted, and certainly no mass cases of such arrests and prosecutions of ordinary citizens for not turning in their personal gold.

There was no official "confiscation" of gold from ordinary Americans.

There was no law the President was carrying out which authorized such confiscation passed by Congress. Any such Act of Congress would of course, constitute a "taking" under the fifth amendment and require "just compensation."

If Congress had tried to go this route, they would have had to exchange silver for the gold turned in. In essence, no net gain for the treasury. Plus, they didn't have the silver stock or treasury balance to do so anyway. That was the whole point. At that time, they would not have been confiscating a commodity, but money itself. They would have had to compensate with money, and they didn't have enough which was the problem in the first place. It would have been silly to confiscate one form of money only to have to exchange it for another form OF EQUAL VALUE, when the purpose was to make a net gain to the treasury.

Additionally, contrary to popular belief, it was NEVER illegal for Americans to posses gold. (just as most Americans have no "income" tax imposed upon them. It seems when everyone believes a lie though, it is really hard to go against it)

Also, there was NEVER, not even the hint of, any confiscation of silver coin, nor any prohibition, even if convoluted and deceiving, of possessing it.

Silver became impractical as use for currency when the central banks of the world had printed too many fiat notes. This occurred in various countries during the late 1950's to mid 1960's. I believe the U.S. was the last country to abandon silver currency. (the "dollar," a coin containing about .77 ounces of silver which is hundreds of years older than the U.S., circulated throughout most of the world until the 1960's)

Also contrary to popular myth, JFK was not attempting to "down the FED" or restore silver currency with his E.O. He ordered the printing of silver certificates precisely because the U.S. silver stocks were in critical supply and he was trying to reduce the circulating coinage. The effect was to boost the strategic stockpile, not circulate more of it. However, by the time of his death, the effort was too little too late, and Congress passed a law removing silver from our coins effective 1965. (half-dollars were still minted in 40% silver reduced from 90% for a few more years for circulation, as were a one year issue of Ike dollars for collector sets)

In closing, there is no more worry of actual confiscation of gold, silver, or anything else. Any attempt to do so will be countered with another metal - lead.

Would you be worried about confiscation if the issue was over food and water? Or would you simply acquire that which you know you need to survive?

That's probably the reason that,,,,

,,,Americans are setting "All" time records in the purchase of firearms !

They gotta take our guns to get to our Gold/Silver, and valuables, including jewelry.

By stepping outside of the

By stepping outside of the system (the jurisdiction), but you already know this hawkiye.

By declaring independence, one individual at a time. The problem comes in BEING independent, which is required before one can declare independence.

But the truth is, no one is truly independent, we will all at some time depend upon our "neighbor". Therefore it requires a community of independent people, a community in which the individuals have declared independence from the Jurisdiction of the "system" and create their own system that does not practice authority over each other, But supports each other in needs through freewill offering, with no expectation of repayment.

But as far as operating outside the Banking system, paying taxes, ect., you know well the solution for those things. It is as simple as not being PARTICIPATING member of THEIR system, and creating another system that is OUTSIDE of their system. One is only under their jurisdiction if one consents to be under such. "They" recognize this, it is the "people" that do not recognize this.

This is correct, we must come out of her. Most all of us have heard the cliche at some point in our lives, "Love it or leave it". Aside from being a cliche, it is also the truth. If you do not love it, then leave it. If you do love it, then do not complain about it, but instead LOVE IT.

You do not have to leave the land to leave the system. It is up to you, either Love it, or Leave it. But please stop hating it and yet at the same time continue your marriage within it.

Awesome thread. I've long

Awesome thread. I've long been of the opinion that begging and pleading with politicians is a waste of time and even counterproductive since it lends legitimacy to their usurpations. We do have the power ourselves to start building parallel institutions that, when the time comes, will replace the stinking, bloated corpse of the corrupt institutions that are looting us to death. I think -- thanks to the Internet -- we're just beginning to see the possibilities of peaceful social cooperation across a wide range of freedom-loving individuals from all walks of life. It's going to be awesome when that paradigm finally replaces the hoary, rotten one of state violence and collectivism.

Offer Real Money to Local Businesses & Friends

I've been offering silver to local businesses and friends as compensation for goods and services. So far, only a few friends have taken me up on it, however it at least stirs up conversation when I offer to pay one ounce of silver for my $20 of produce at the farmers' market. I've also offered other local merchants gold in exchange for larger items. They informed me that they only accept cash, check, and credit, but they don't accept gold. I told them, "You will."

As far as buying gas or items at other corporate stores, I treat the FRNs like the hot potato they are. Every once in a while, I make a comment about how it's amazing that someone is willing to accept paper with a certain number on it as payment. I've been surprised at how many people reluctantly agree! We need to change people's concept of what is and isn't money. It will take some time, but in the meantime, I'm content to go on a personal gold/silver standard and offer the same to friends, family, and local business.

Time Standard of Money makes local currencies global

Jct: The ultimate do-it-yourself economic lifeboat is to start up a UNILETS time-based currency that's compatible with the rest of the world's trading unit.
Time Standard of Money makes local currencies global
In 1999, I paid for 39/40 nights in Europe with an IOU for a night back in Canada worth 5 Hours. Time is the ultimate numeraire. Time is the universal base for currency. We can trade between galaxies when the unit it time.
With Africa trading with mobile-phone minutes, Arabia trading with mobile-phone card credits, with Hours being traded in Ithaca, with Greencredits being traded in LETS, Facebook, Twitter, Graigslist, offering social currencies to their databases, the use of new social credits to cut the bankster middlemen out of any interest is undergoing unheralded growth around the world. It would be nice to see Ron Paul jump the "silver and yellow rock" standard and join the time-based community curency standard.

Competing currencies. The more the merrier

Unilets - interseting entry at wiki. It's great that people are trading Time Standard Units

But for government transactions gold is gold no matter what galaxy. I think the objective, tangible presence of gold has value.

Good question. Starting over

Good question. Starting over should be simple -- enforce the Constitution. The collapse of the dollar should spark a revolution that will clear the decks as far as getting rid of most of the corruption in government. Until then nullification by the States is a good place to start. http://rgeorgedunn.blogspot.com/2009/12/nulificationlast-bas....

When competition is legalized, everything else will naturally fall into place.

Permaculture posted this

Permaculture posted this video earlier in the thread and I just got around to watching it and was quite impressed. Permaculture there is plenty of desert land in the US that can be had very cheap and what most people do not know is a lot of these rural counties have very little and in some cases no regulation because much of the ground is considered unusable so you could literally do what you want.
