China threatens sanctions against the U.S.
This does not sound good at all, and can mean some big trouble with China.
China threatens U.S. with sanctions over Taiwan arms.
BEIJING (Reuters) – China threatened to impose sanctions on U.S. arms firms and cut cooperation with Washington unless it cancels a $6.4 billion arms sale to Taiwan, in an unprecedented move signaling Beijing's growing global power.
China on Saturday bitterly denounced the Obama administration's announcement a day earlier that it wanted to sell the package of weapons to Taiwan, the self-ruled island that Beijing views as an illegitimate breakaway state.
The dispute deepens the rifts between Beijing and Washington, already at odds over trade, currency, Tibet and the Internet.

End game
I believe the idea of China's economy being seriously shaken with the dollars devaluation is misplaced. An article I came across from Oct.2009 noted the "fatherly" recommendation of the state to encourage citizens toward purchasing precious metals with their hard days wage. The Old man himself has invested a substantial amount of monetary reserves in the shiny stuff. Thus allowing them to shore up Asian lending agents with actual wealth purchased from the liquidation of artificially elevated dollars before the world follows suit. Coincidentally, China has also been busy gourging itself to complacentcy on resources from the global market place to stock pile for further domestic production. No argument in that they will choke down a glut of treasury bonds purchased from the land of the distracted, but relative to the "fair and balanced" state of our currency, margins begin to shrink.
The question then becomes: Why sponser such a lifestyle only to have it squandered by a pampered populace, impotent in their complacentcy, vowing subordination under corrupt dolts who pervert and distort the very rule of law they force upon other nations with all the fury of a rabid wolf? Perhaps they see some value to exploit within this wolf. Its soul is consummed by greed resulting in an unsettling propensity for irrational aggression to feed itself. What if the beast were reliant on us for food? It may then become a useful pet, after all this forest is unfamiliar to us. So food is provided. Eventually the animal's insatialble appetite, coupled with an occasional growl directed at the masters, grows tiresome. Having cleared the trees enough to allow for a clear view of the field, the village begins to rethink the value of the arrangment. Now this simple creature, being managed for so long, has neither the will nor knowledge to feed himself. Time to release the thing back to the wild. It will remember how to hunt on its own, or fall victim to the predators kept at bay just beyond the treeline. The wolf is of little use to the village now that all threats have been tactfully abated.
To the dismay of this nation, our running joke of a government has forgotten that while the strong may rule the weak, the smart will always rule the strong.
Just a fleeting thought.
No matter where the actual circumstance of our compromised situation may lie, keeping our uniformed patrots engaged in an expensive and meaningless charade abroad is nothing short of treasonous. Those men and women will never forget how to hunt. God keep them well until they reunite with the pack where they are truly needed.
I have always thought the actions of men the best interpreters of their thoughts.

There is another factor
with this,Transportation of all goods in the country have now become dependent on the supply of tires from China,We cannot make enough tires in this country or import enough from other counties to meet the demand.
also there are many sizes that we need that are not made here or anywhere else but China. It takes years to set up to make a certain size. This could be a major Transportation and cost issue that will affect everything that is Transported.
This could be very bad as a whole.

So what do you think this will really mean to us..
The Americans?
hmmm . . .
something *we* need to be aware of--
one of those 'quiet' things that happens while *we* are focusing on "other" things--
:/
it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--
What are they going to do shut down WalMart.
They still need us until their middle class grows large enough to buy the greater part of their production of goods (junk).

Um...
You are aware that without the Chinese government the United States, for all practical purposes, would vanish from the global market?
We need them far more than they need us... LOL.

I don't think that's the whole story
Chinese sanctions may be just the thing needed to wake the sheep. The end of the US, in the form it's been in for the last 100 years, is inevitable. Maybe sooner is better than later.
The US constitutes way too big a portion of the market to just disappear. More likely, there will be a realignment within the US, or, the rest of the world will simply leave us behind, i.e. stagnation.
That's the rub, isn't it...
We are still unsure what the future role of the US is going to be globally, we just know that the inevitable badness is coming.
Think about what is going to happen when we (since we will have to) default on our loans.
Globally.
What I think will happen is that the dollar (and the Fed) will go away and America is going to have to negotiate thier debt with the IMF to even remain a 3rd-world country.
American citizens will do so... they will beg for it, actually.
This isn't about the US and China or anyone else as a people... this is all about making money globally using the same system you use to grow anything else.
It is crop rotation.
We are fast coming up on the end of the harvest. Then we will be left to go fallow for a season while China is blooming.
So the sanctions don't matter in terms of money anyways. It is just to condition us for what is to come.

Devon_Saunders...
Once again you are correct.
Sounds like sabre-rattling
China and the U.S. are woven together like threads in fabric; we need each other, primarily for trade and business.
This could be a lousy situation if it escalates, though.
Which side do you think
will win this p. contest?
China cause they will be using real p.
While we will be using fiat p.

This scares me, I sure hope....
Washington/U.S. stands down on this threat, or we may have bigger issues to deal with other than just our government's incompetence, and corruption.
I don't think it will be...
The U.S. in this case.
