Medina Takes West Texas By Storm

ANDREWS - The election primaries are fast approaching and Republican Gubernatorial hopeful Debra Medina may at first look like a little fish out to meet the sharks when stacked up to her opponents Governor Rick Perry and U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison.

But this little fish is acting a lot more like a piranha than a guppy as she fearlessly takes on two of the biggest political names in the state.

Medina was in West Texas this weekend and the fresh face politician is already proving herself to some West Texan supporters.

"Understand that freedom requires eternal vigilance," Medina said. "We've got to pay attention to what's happening around us."

Those were just a few of Debra Medina's opening remarks in Andrews on Saturday.

The South Texas farm girl's down home charm is already earning her West Texan supporters.

"Everything she talks about we stand for," Medina Supporter, Humberto Acosta said. "She's really talking to us. We're Texas people and we really love her."

Medina says she's different than her big time competition.

"They're both big government ideologues," she said. "I am a constitutionalist and I understand that the Republic stands on the rule of law. The job of government is to create a set of laws that are fair, that create an equal opportunity for everyone, but don't guarantee outcome."

She's for gun owner's rights, securing the boarder, restoring Texas sovereignty and eliminating Texas property taxes.

"We don't own property in Texas, we rent it, because of all those taxes on that property," Medina said. "I want to eliminate property taxes so we own land in Texas again. It's a freedom issue, not a fiscal issue."

Helping Debra Medina

It would be a great idea to go down to Texas to help out on election day.
Does anyone know the elections laws on how far away you can be at the polls to hand anything out.

Here in Pennsylvania, you must be 10 feet away from the doors of the polls to hand stuff out. In New Jersey, you must be 500 feet away to hand any political materials out.

If Texas has a close one like PA, then it would be a really good idea for supporters all over the nation to go down at stand at the polls to hand stuff out to the voters before the go in and vote. We want Debra Medina to be the last name they see before they go in and vote, they will more likely vote for her then.

She really could use some funding. I don't work for her in an official capacity but rather a very vocal supporter. Tomorrow is her money bomb. I would encourage everyone to turn their passion to their pocket and dig as deeply as you can without killing yourself. Those of us that can still do so , could take up the slack from those of us who can't. Debra, with our help, will make Texas a place worth living in. God Bless You all.

Excellent coverage, and this race could prove

To be the first shot fired in the Liberty movement and show us how many Texans are sick of a non representative form of government. We have all been witness to several states declaring 10th amendment sovereignty on 2nd amendment issues and others, but to have a state put teeth in legislation could well be the spark the states need to begin to play their proper role in national politics, as opposed to a house and senate voting for their own profits and greed. To have a real recovery in Texas under Medina would be a painful blow to the status quo as others witnessing freedom in motion, and desire true representative leadership for themselves, a truly historical moment for aware citizens.
