Besides the internet, what kind of campaigning did you do for Ron Paul this weekend?

Besides the internet, what kind of campaigning did you do for Ron Paul this weekend?

I would like to know what everyone on this site actually did to gain Ron Paul Support this weekend besides type on the internet.

Myself:

Voted in the National Caucus Friday Night for Ron Paul - Ron Paul had 32 votes at our caucus. Huckabee 5 votes no other candidate got a vote.

Saturday. Attended Ron Paul booth at gun show all day, then hit a Christmas Parade with a Ron Paul float at 5pm. Today attended Sunday portion of Ron Paul booth at gun show.

If you want to actually win, you have to get out and campaign, you cannot conjecture all day on the internet - that won't do it.

I've been talking to friends, co-workers, neighbors, waitress

I've decided to focus on only one issue when I introduce Ron Paul to people. And this is working for me.

AMERICA UNDER ATTACK from inside by CFR. Do you support USA or NAU?

See here for the details (There are links to videos that gave me good resutls.)

a girl i chatted RP up w/

a girl i chatted RP up w/ months ago came up to me at the diner tonight and asked, "hey, whacha been doing for our man lately? My friends have a couple bands that're trying to put something together and..."

ahh...

does the heart good.

we caught up. bemoaned voting machines and the tragic decay of our liberties, exchanged happy new years, then it was coffee and tip.

later that night local bar...

hey, have you heard of Ron Paul?

she: "hmmm? it sounds familiar...should i know?"

well, he's running for president.

she, blushing: "well, i should know THAT. then. i usually would know that but, i don't know, lately i've been so..."

apathetic.

she: "exactly."

well let me change your life in two words.

she: "your not a scientologist are you?"

...................

no. of course not.

Ron Paul.

she: ???

those are the two words.

she: "oh, i get it. so i'm supposed to go home now and do a search and learn all about him and he's going to change my life?"

probably...

Played the football crowd

I took advantage of 2 different rather large football gatherings (Don't care about football myself) to educate people about our current economic state, and how it related to them. Then fielded a Q&A. I got EVERY person in both crowds to pledge both to vote in the caucus (Here in Reno Nevada) and hang Ron Paul signs in their yards in prominent positions.
Held signs on busy street corners and answered an astounding number of questions from curious pedestrians. Gave out over a dozen hand made signs.
My strong point is that I'm quite educated on the issues, so i can answer questions precisely rather than referring people to a web site they may or may not visit, so I take advantage where I can.

I have not been doing very much.

What I have done in the last two weeks: I purchased a half page advertisement in our local newspaper for $900 to cover the entire county asking Ron Paul supporters to unite. The response was two people. That means that these two people cost me $450 each. Being a little discouraged from the response I continued my campaigning for Ron Paul. I constructed and printed out 485 postcards to cover my precinct here in northern Nevada. I assisted another member of our meet up group and printed out an additional 250 postcard for his precinct, which he mailed today.

Yesterday, some of our meetup group attended a meeting for Republicans in Humboldt County, sponsored by the Humboldt Republican Committee with guest speaker Sue Loudin, Nevada State Republican Party Chairman. During this meeting, Sue Loudin made an interesting statement that Nevada has picked the Republican presidential candidate going back to Richard Nixon. Interesting!

Tonight our meetup group attended a mock caucus for the Republican Party, sponsored by the Humboldt Republican Committee. Last month I became acquainted with the members of the Humboldt Republican Committee. The reasoning behind this is because my support for Ron Paul.

This weekend I will be voting in the Nevada caucus and running as a precinct 7 delegate in support for Ron Paul. I have also volunteered my time to the Humboldt Republican Committee as a volunteer to help in this event.

The chairperson of the Humboldt Republican committee informed us tonight that all votes will be counted in the open and each precinct chairperson is responsible for this count.

Other than that, I have not been doing very much.

Flyers and paid someone to put a sign in his yard

Went to see a band, "The Editors," at a pretty large venue and handed out Paul business-sized cards. Also, paid an acquaintance who is not interested in politics $50 to put a yard sign in his yard for a month, which is on a very high traffic road.

I dropped about 30 flyers on

I dropped about 30 flyers on ski lifts, restaurants and shops & stores in Breckenridge Colorado.

Independent film festival in Denver, CO

I was at an independent film festival in Denver, CO dealing with various issues of tolerance/intolerance. I wore my Ron Paul sweatshirts each of the three days there to the screenings and got quite a few people coming up to ask me questions about Ron.

I also had time to visit with a couple who are friends of mine who were debuting a recent film project. The god-daughter of martial arts legend, Bruce Lee, and her husband. I also had an opportunity to visit with several of the leaders of the Matthew Shepard Foundation, one of whom was quite supportive of Ron and who had obviously been keeping up with Ron in the GOP debates.

Fun stuff!!! :-)

Hi Tracy

How'd your gun show go? Ron Paul for President!!

Good.

We've been taking sign-up sheets with us, and when we find supporters getting their contact information and telling them we're looking for people to get involved in the local County Republican Parties to be delegates to the State SD Convention.

We got over 15 people signed up, and passed out DVDs and fliers to a lot of people. We how have representation about about 6 different counties in the Brookings area trying to become delegates.

IT'sreal easy to get people plugged in, we just need to find them, and tell them what to do, so they can do it.

Wrote to Health Food Stores

If Hillary and McCain have their way, nutritional supplement stores are finished. My wife sells nutritional supplements. Prior to this weekend, she wrote a cover letter. A printer made 200 copies of that, a RP speech on the "Health Freedom Protection Act", and a slightly modified health care slim jim. Over the weekend we finished mailing 1 ounce letters containing those three flyers to over 130 nutritional supplement stores in Iowa and began mailing them to Nevada stores. The cover letter suggests that the recipient make copies of the other two enclosures to provide to customers.

Suggestion: This same at home project could be done by contractors, chiropractors, home schoolers, farmers, etc..

St. Augustine Night of Lights weekend

Looked more like a Ron Paul rally!

Signs and supporters everywhere.

Also to everyone who thinks "Google Ron Paul" and "Who is Ron Paul" is the wrong message for the blimp.....

My Grandparent in laws who are both in their mid-70's grabbed an RP slim jim and said "Ron Paul, we have never heard of him". They are both very internet savvy, so this surprised me. Just because WE all know Ron Paul doesn't mean everyone else does.
I stopped and talked with the supporters for a bit, and they seemed to find the best spot right in the middle of everything to set up shop!

I also noticed that many parked cars on the street had Ron Paul for Prez signs in the front windows.
It was an encouraging weekend

canvassed in Waterloo, IA

We plastered the neighborhoods Waterloo, IA with fliers for Ron Paul despite the freezing temperatures and snow/ice..

Next weekend: Davenport, IA walk-off canvassing.

Be a part of it!

Didn't do any campaigning

Didn't do any campaigning really, but I brought up his name at a party and told them I was going to vote for him.. A couple guys were enthusiastic about it, but a couple others (one who supposedly studies politics) we're saying he couldn't win.. The one who studied politics said he thought Giuliani was going to win and I told him how much I hate that guy..

How to support Dr. Paul for less than $1

ALWAYS have notaxontips.com flyers in your wallet, even if you don't have the more-detailed slimjims. You never know when there's an opportunity. It is vitally important that one person in each meetup (at least) print up and cut up a few hundred of these and divide them up at your next meeting.

Most cashiers in drive thrus don't get ANY tips. If you let them keep the change and at the same time give them a flyer that mentions NoTaxOnTips.com, and mention going to the website, you don't even need to mention Dr. Paul. They'll be intrigued and visit the website, and we'll get another convert a lot of the time if everyone does this.

Oh, Um, Uh.... well...

Wish I could say something great, but my job prevents me from being as active as you guys, however, I do email 100 to 150 a day to businesses until I have canvassed the state.
I have worked over NH and Iowa, now working on Texas For Dec 16th...

If anyone reading this is a stay at home Mom, or other person that doesnt have the ability to get out and canvass like we would like too.... consider emailing SMALL businesses who might like the less tax or get rid of the IRS and certainly everyone wants to bring the troops home.... I also push abolishing the Patriot Act, getting rid of Fema and Dept of Homeland Security etc. etc. etc. always add google or u-tube Ron Paul....

Sorry I am not in the class of you other folks, but I do my best and if everyone did in a small way the message still gets spread.

Show me yours...I'll show you mine

DA, would you shoot me a sample of the email you're sending to businesses?
We are going to start on that segment and would like to see what others are using.
Thanks

It's Not Either Or

People forget that the internet got this whole going very powerfully - WITH REAL PEOPLE.

And it still has a lot of mileage left in it for those who will use it.

This weekend our little team of volunteers reached thousands of new people who became IMMEDIATE Ron Paul supporters with their actions and their money.

And we didn't have to leave the comfort of our homes or spend one precious cent on travel or supplies.

In fact, this project is going to have an enormous impact on Dec 16th.

Gun Show

I campaigned with my meetup group at a local gun show. I was surprised at how many people were already going to vote for him. Also there were tons of people who didn't know who he was but were very interested in him by the time we stopped talking to them. And there were some ignorant, angry rednecks too.

Put out yard signs and canvassed mall parking lot

Put out 10 Ron Paul yard signs along 2 major highways and overpasses.
Also canvassed mall parking lot with 700+ Ron Paul "Hope for America" brochures. North Central Pennsylvania.

Organized and ran two phone banks in our NYC headquarters Saturday and Sunday.

Walked in two Christmas parades

We had a car with a Ron Paul sign on top. While the car passengers threw candy to the kiddies, we "walkers" distributed hundreds of Ron Paul slim-jims to as many adults as we could could find along the the parade route.

Not a whole lot

Printing flyers, folding [trifold], filling handout packets, formatting trifolds for printing. Printing donation forms. We only have 17,496 registered voters scattered over three counties, 13,601 sq mi.
Now thats larger than
CT, DE, RI combined or
MD, DE, RI combined or
NH, DE, RI combined or
VT, DE, RI combined or
NJ, CT combined or
MA, CT combined or about the same as
NH, CT combined and stretching from Oregon to Montana.
There are only 35 precincts and two of them are mail in ballot.
Anybody up for walking a precinct?

Door Knocking

I watched Scott's video twice, took notes, and then followed his advice: http://ronpaulreveres.com/canvassing

I knocked on my neighbors doors. Told them about my hero. Gave everybody fliers. I explained that we need their votes in the primaries.
I explained voter registration rules and gave them the forms.
Some I gave DVD's.

It was fun, productive, and I enjoyed it.
I intend to do it many more times.

Promoted the Univision

Promoted the Univision debate in my neighborhood (at least half here are Spanish speaking), as well as the RP Spanish blog (ronpaulspanish.blogspot.com). Made phone calls to the remaining people I know about RP (overwhelmingly successful, especially considering most people I called are NOT conservatives/Republicans)
