What does Iran have up their sleeve on Feb 11th????

Iran has a surprise waiting for the global powers on February 11th so says AHMADINEJAD

U.S. expanding missile defenses in Gulf

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States has expanded land- and sea-based missile defense systems in and around the Gulf to counter what it sees as Iran's growing missile threat, U.S. officials said.

The deployments include expanded land-based Patriot defensive missile installations in Kuwait, Qatar, UAE and Bahrain, as well as Navy ships with missile defense systems within striking distance in and around the Mediterranean, officials said.

General David Petraeus, who as head of U.S. Central Command is responsible for military operations across the Middle East, said this month that the United States has stationed eight Patriot missile batteries in four Gulf countries, which he did not identify.

The buildup began under the Bush administration, but has expanded under President Barack Obama, who is pushing for a new round of sanctions against Iran over its nuclear program.

Officials said the expansion was meant to increase protection for U.S. forces and key allies in the Gulf.

The chairman of the U.S. military's Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen, said last month the Pentagon must have military options ready to counter Iran should Obama call for them.

"The chairman has made it clear many times that he remains concerned about the ballistic missile threat posed by Iran, but it would be inappropriate to discuss any mitigation or defense measures we might have in place to deter/defeat that threat," a spokesman for Mullen said.

Obama announced a revised missile defense system last year that included the deployment of Aegis ships equipped with missile interceptors to help defend Europe and U.S. forces against Iranian rockets.

The Pentagon said it envisioned keeping three ships at any given time in and around the Mediterranean and the North Sea to protect areas of interest, with the possibility of sending additional ships to the region as needed.

The Obama administration said the decision to change plans was based mainly on technological developments and a shift in intelligence assessments to meet short- and medium-range missile threats posed by Iran.

Pentagon officials said deploying ships with SM-3 interceptors, made by Raytheon Co., would provide the flexibility to move U.S. missile defense capabilities as may be needed.

Ships with Aegis interceptor systems are capable of blowing up ballistic missiles above the atmosphere. The system can track over 100 targets, military officials said.

Should not the question be:

What is the US govt. telling us What Iran has up it sleeves?

Feb. 11: Iran claims new

Pop some bubble wrap?

make loud noises?
where tall head gear to appear larger to their enemies?

I'm so scared.

It’s a great big game of risk for the IMF,

Iran is a threat whether we like it or not… Geopolitics is like a security valuation formula and unfortunately for Iran natural gas fits perfectly into this equation. What does this mean? The banks have taken notice to the oil reserves and are going all-in for natural gas because it is a resource that is highly capable of monopolization.

A true flower can not blossom without sunlight and a true man can not live without love.

Iran is

Still holding three Americans hostage.

I just read that article and

I just read that article and remember their story being in the news for a while, although I don't remember the specifics.

What in the world were they thinking? With all the problems the U.S. has with Iran they are going to hike right along the border? Are they nuts? Asking for a death wish maybe? Of all the places in the world they could have chosen to hike they chose the border of Iran.

No wonder the Iranians think they're spies. Who knows, maybe they are. I cannot believe any normal sensible person doing what they did.

I hope they're alright and that they get lucky enough to be released back to the U.S. asap.

The guy who runs Iran is just a great big jerk

who is losing his popularity with his people. His opposition is calling for massive ralleys on the 11th. He needed to say something...... and the US is ALWAYS anxious to strike Iran and keep the masses AFRAID! That's my take.
(When are the Olympics by the way????... they may have just gotten their "fall guy")

Viva La Revolucion!

It's really up to China & Russia

to decide if they are going to saddle up with Iran.

I recall Russia releasing a

I recall Russia releasing a statement back in 2007 that they would consider any attack on Iran as an attack on Russia. That might have been only for that specific point in time, but still is a strong statement that we should consider seriously even a few years later. For all we know it's still in effect.

China... they need oil, lots of it, and Iran has it. I recall back in 2008 China expressing significant interest in being involved in Iran's planned oil pipeline that was to go through Pakistan & India. So that's Pakistan, India & China possibly significantly affected if a major war breaks out and we end up destroying Iran's infrastructure related to that pipeline. I can imagine those 3 countries being very happy about it.

The real question is, what will the federal government tell us

Iran has up its sleeve. Ain'tyamamamad might just want to say something benign and just enjoy the buildup. I am more worried about Israel and the feds will cook up and make up in response.

Keep in mind

Iran is one of five countries that do not have a central bank.

Not true

It did

"The Central Bank of Iran was renamed to "the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran" immediately after the Islamic revolution and the overthrow of the Shah of Iran."

"Islamic rules prohibit earning or paying interest"

"All such transactions are performed through Islamic contracts, such as Mozarebe, Foroush Aghsati, Joale, Salaf, and Gharzol-hassane. Details of these contracts and related practices are outlined in the Iranian Interest-Free banking law and its guidelines. This law describes and authorizes an Iranian Shiite version of Islamic commercial laws. Iran’s banking system adheres to Islamic rules that prohibit earning or paying interest."

It is just a Coincidence

Hey I see Haiti might have some big oil deposits...

I'm sure thats all it is:)

Following the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, there are now only five nations on the world left without a Rothschild owned central bank: Iran; North Korea; Sudan; Cuba; and Libya

There ya go!

Of course, probably just a coincidence as well...

Here we go with one of those "exercises"

We all know how these go.

"The Cobra Gold, one of the various military maneuvers the United States regularly holds overseas, coincides with Washington's clandestine steps to increase the capability of land-based Patriot missiles on the territory of some of its Arab allies in the Persian Gulf region.

Military officials speaking to media on condition of anonymity have also revealed the US Navy is also upgrading the presence of ships capable of intercepting missiles in the Persian Gulf. "

Heres a not so secret meeting

Between CIA and Mossad

A secret meeting between the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Leon Panetta and Israeli officials has reportedly centered on Iran's nuclear program.

In a secret flying visit to Israel on Thursday, the head of the CIA reportedly discussed Iran's nuclear issue in a sit-down with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Mossad Chief Meir Dagan.

The trip, which was originally scheduled to take place in May, follows a recent wave of developments in the Middle East that are strongly imply preparations for a possible new military conflict in the region

Here's the Feb 11 article

You folks are losing your touch. Ever hear of "google" or if you prefer (as I do) "scroogle?"

I was thinking that maybe you

I was thinking that maybe you saw that mentioned in another article somewhere. Would be interesting to read about it. Thanks for trying to find it.

Iran Has yet to do anything to provoke

The type of aggressive behavior from the US. They have done nothing but be open about their nuclear program ever since we invaded Iraq. They may be a few nit picky things they haven't been squeaky clean on with the inspectors, but who ever is squeaky clean during an inspection process (anybody have to deal with electrical or osha inspectors knows this)?

The nuclear plan they have put forward should be acceptable to the US and France if The US is actually being truthful in its objectives. My guess is the US is not being truthful and flat out doesn't want any nuclear material in Iran. Iran's counter offer is nothing more than a fair exchange in nuclear material where they don't want a situation that the french could take all their nuclear material.

There is no doubt our tax money has gone to trying to foment demonstrations. Iran just might expose the incredible ridiculousness of the us policy towards them. OR announce a sweet heart deal with china or Russia so that its nuclear program can continue peacefully. It may just be a giant announcement of a deal with China or Russia for oil too.

Most of the time AHMADINEJAD talks big, but nothing really comes of it. Most of it is due to the fact that people misinterpret what he is saying.

I don't know

but it doesn't sound good
