Who is Glenn Beck?
Around last November I added Glenn Beck to my DVR because he seemed to be getting so much attention and I wasn't clear on where he stood. I thought watching his show every day would give me some insight, but it hasn't.
The biggest issue that I care about is war because it is the easiest to use as a litmus test to determine whether someone is a conservative or a neocon. I have watched nearly every episode of Glenn Beck since I added it to my DVR and I still can't figure out what his opinions are on war, or any foreign policy.
Can someone clue me in? I sort of think he's playing the same game that many neocons began playing last year, which is to talk about fiscal policies and limited government while hoping people forget about what they really did while they were in control.

Back on Headline News
I remember often watching Glenn beck when he was on CNN HeadLine News. It was maybe in 2005 or 06, this was the last golden years of neocon. Glenn Beck was then SUPER PRO WAR. He was saying that 911 woke him up and made him pay attention to politic.
Now he says stuff like: should just blow up coutries without invading them...
Maybe he will oppose the next Obama war
What I can't stand about this
What I can't stand about this windbag Beck is the way he's constantly bringing up his battle with booze and calling himself a recovering alcoholic. How about we give Glen a AA patch to wear on his sleeve? I mean a big one so everyone can see it. That way he can finally shut up about it. Aside from that, anyone who is so obviously fumbling around in the dark trying to figure things out shouldn't be the one standing up in front of us all acting as if they know it all.
That's what gasbag Limbaugh is for.
Things are only impossible until they are not.

You're right he doesn't talk about it on TV
The reason? He would alienate a lot of the GOP people who watch him. But if you've heard him talk about Wilson on the radio, he doesn't support imperialism. And he said another day that he doesn't think we should be going around the world spreading democracy by force. He's coming around believe me. He isn't a strict noninterventionist now, but either way talking about noninterventionism on TV would give him the first door out of Fox.
He's politically maneuvering, and like Nystrom said yesterday, maneuvering doesn't imply giving up your principles. Listen to Beck on the radio, he's more free to give his real opinions there.
I think Beck is slowly
I think Beck is slowly climbing down the 'rabbit hole' it is interesting to watch. He has started to come around on the war and quelled some of his fears. He was quoting Washington's farewell and many of Jefferson's ideas. He is learning, I do not think he joined the CFR yet. He had a good interview with Dr Paul the other day on his radio show.
Time will tell
Peace
For me,
The fact that he refuses to talk about why we never have Congress formally declare war is a dead giveaway that he works for the globalists.
Congress doesn't vote to go to war because we signed a UN resolution stating that the UN can order us to send troops anywhere without a vote.
He's is going to be the r3VOLutions Benedict Arnold, IMHO.
For an informed citizenry, individuals must discard the television set in favor of the acquisition of information via either books and/or the internet. An uneducated populous will remain in ignorance and thus continue to suffer the sharp ax of tyranny.
I think he's similar to Rand Paul.
Both of them advocate against using the military to spread democracy, and both of them are wishy washy on Afghanistan. Rand says he's unsure of whether to bring troops home from there. He needs more information on whether it's in our national security interest to be there. I think that is approximately Beck's view as well.
If you listen to Beck's latest interview on his radio show with Ron Paul, he agreed with everything Ron Paul said in regard to foreign policy, including CIA policy.
Don't fall for all the Beck paranoia you see around here. I think a lot of it is being driven by Alex Jones who sees Beck as a business competitor, so sends his followers out to trash Beck.
Agreed
BTW, didn't Alex think Ron Paul was going to declare his candidacy in February just a couple months ago? Well we'll see but as far as I'm concerned when I first saw that I knew it was just a bunch of bull. It got ratings though.
Hi Flame...Anyone who
Hi Flame...
Anyone who supports the imperialist war in Afghanistan is likely a neocon. It was a justified albeit illegal war after 9/11, but that is no longer the case. I'll have to watch the interview after work to judge Rand's position on the issue.
I do agree that some people are blowing Beck out of proportion regarding his hostility to our movement. Its not that I disagree that he likely will sell us down the river come election time, but the facts are not there to assure us that he is a judas goat. Ultimately, I would rather be too vigilant than be caught off guard.

He admitted that most of our interventions are imperialistic, but not the ones in the middle east specifically. His criticisms of those wars are style(we need to go in and win it, not nation-build), not substance.

I believe presently he is an advocate for American Imperalism.
Maybe he will change, but don`t bet your last lotto dollar on it.

Glenn is a work in progress. He is against the federal reserve so we must use him to keep the pressure up.
Just last week he talked to RP on the radio and said that he was thinking that our foreign policy should be like Switzerland's. He is starting to come around on the foreign policy but I'm still holding out for more proof in the future.
Remember, we need to dump the federal reserve and he is a great mouthpiece to help with the education process. Maybe we should push for Glenn to have a full hour story on the evils and history of the fed.
Correction
He "claims" to be against the Federal Reserve. Really, I've never heard hime be "against" them, just questions.
Just thought it was important to point that out.

I've come to the realization
I've come to the realization that it doesnt matter what he says until endorsement-time during the elections. Most of his followers are double-thinkers. He could be 100% pro peace in rhetoric and then endorse Palin and no one would bat an eye.

I'm with you. I will be watching to see if he really favors Switzerland's foreign policy. In the meantime we can concentrate on ending the fed.
