Candidate Patrick Henry Sellers!

I have exceptional news to share with Daily Paul readers – Patrick Henry Sellers is running for US Congress to represent Pennsylvania’s 6th Congressional District (southeast). Pat can win the GOP primary race and I’ll explain why. First, let me tell you that Pat is the right person for the job. He’s our kind of guy and I know what I’m talking about here. Thomas E. Woods, Jr. agrees and has endorsed him. Please read Pat’s PLATFORM.
Pat was an indefatigable Ron Paul supporter. He started one of the earliest Ron Paul meetups, #314 in June 2007 in Chester County, the heart of the Congressional District. His crew was very active. I worked closely with him as Ron’s former Pennsylvania Field Director during Ron’s Presidential campaign.
JOIN US to become one of Pat’s supporters. We need volunteers at both the local and national level. Give us your feedback. Please also kindly DONATE generously to Pat’s campaign. I did so and I decided to join his campaign team as well. His team is all volunteer.
The Opposition – RINO #1
Despite Americans’ overwhelming opposition, incumbent Congressman Jim Gerlach broke Republican ranks to vote for the Bailout. His record is a disaster: he also voted for Cash for Clunkers, the Hate Crime bill, its sexual orientation amendment, warrantless searches and other federal overreaching and destruction of liberty. He has angered many conservative rank and file. Gerlach tried to run for Governor but he raised insufficient funds, so he now wants to hold onto his Congressional seat. He just can’t stop bailing out. Apart from his record, Gerlach has three other problems: cash, a rich RINO #2 opponent -- and Patrick Henry Sellers.
Law prohibits Gerlach from transferring his Gubernatorial campaign funds to his Congressional campaign. His Congressional account had only $35,000 in Sept. 2009. Right now, he's busy collecting commitments and pledges from people who already donated to his expired campaign. NRCC funding may well be unlikely for two reasons: they are low on cash and Gerlach’s last general election was tight.
The Opposition – RINO #2
RINO Steve Welch has admitted voting for Joe Sestak (D-PA) in 2006 and for Obama
a> in the 2008 primary. He also donated to Sestak's campaign. He doesn't realize it yet, but that probably makes him toast. Welch has low name recognition and will, in his substantially self-funded race, target Gerlach.
The upshot is that Gerlach and Welch are damaged-goods candidates with political bulls-eyes on their foreheads.
Pat Sellers is the only conservative in the race. Pat will campaign on the economy with the subtexts of salvaging national finances while improving business competitiveness and national security by dramatically reducing the scope and scale of government. That includes sound money, phasing out the income tax and the Fed, and reverting to a common sense non-interventionist foreign policy that entails bringing our troops home and ceasing the squandering of military assets. In a nutshell, peace, freedom and prosperity. You’ve heard that expression previously from a certain doctor.
Please mark the inauguration of Pat’s campaign fundraising with a Donation. We will soon be calling people in the freedom movement in the 6th District and throughout Pennsylvania for donations, and we need and respectfully request intellectual and financial support of the movement at the national level as well. We’re going to do this. Pat will add to Ron’s voice.
The Revolution continues. Spread the message. Patrick Henry Sellers is running.
Yours very truly,
William E. Faust

PRESS RELEASE
For Immediate Release
February 10th, 2010
Re: Deja vu all over again - Gerlach no-show
Patrick Sellers and Steve Welch, Republican primary candidates for the US Congress, Pennsylvania’s 6th Congressional District, participated in a GOP candidate forum at the Crystal Tea Room at Wannamaker's (Macy's) in Center City on Tuesday night, February 9th. The event was sponsored by the Tea Party Coalition, a collection of twenty conservative groups. Candidates for US Senate, Governor, Lt. Governor, and Congressional Districts 1, 2, 7, 8 and 13 also participated in the forum.
Notably absent from the forum was embattled 6th Congressional District incumbent, Jim Gerlach. Forum moderator Dawn Stensland Mendte raised a few catcalls with a statement from Gerlach that he could not attend due to Washington business even while the House and Senate have both been closed since Friday due to snow conditions. Gerlach was a previous no-show at a candidate forum held February 4th at the Union League of Philadelphia by the Center Right Coalition.
All federal candidates were asked their position on Card Check, controversial legislation that, if enacted, would eliminate from union organizing the use of secret ballots, a hallmark of American democracy. Sellers pointed out that Jim Gerlach sponsored a Card Check bill.
Gerlach is notorious in Republican circles for having been one of 25 Republican Congressmen to break ranks in voting for the Banker Bailout.

I still don’t understand why you advocate electing a commission
over monetary policy?
No matter how great the commission is they will be replaced with money or through threats within their first term as commissioners. The people will react to the repeal of legal tender laws at a local level through local financial intermediaries so instead of planting another seed of socialism by instituting a commission responsible for monetary policy decisions it would only seem necessary to completely decentralize monetary decisions to private, local banks.
I think you should reconsider this motive... but other than that you seem to be spot on!
The role of a farmer, in Fukuoka's mind, is an observer, not an intervener, of the natural order in his/her particular landscape. How is that any different than Hayek in regards to Economics?
I'll direct your comment to Pat, but....
I don't like to speak for Pat, so I'll have him respond directly. My view is that he was likely not referring to a permanent commission that would perform any regulatory role as I think you might have gathered. Rather, it would merely be a short-term commission to study the best means to establish, transition to and maintain a system of sound money. There is a political process because the American public educational system has taught generations that the existing fiat money system is so wonderful and flawless.
No Quarter
Most Daily Paul readers understand that there is one simple rule for evaluating which candidates they should support. We always hear refrains of "America needs," "We should," and "There should be." Many of those appeals, even from Republicans, are efforts to control our liberty and our property. Those appeals will be crafted to appear in our benefit. Whatever points they might raise - any issue at any time and under any circumstance - we must ask ourselves whether or not their answer or solution is more freedom or less freedom. That is the only legitimate litmus test. That is the American way of life that we must resurrect. Accept no substitute, no compromise, give no quarter.

Military used as police
Just watched the "news". It appears that at the Super Bowl, the military will be "providing security". They say they will be using equipment which will be able to x-ray entire vehicles and occupants.
Full body scanners are being used in airports which "see" through your clothes, and, map your body.
I'm not ashamed of what might show up in my scan, should I choose to fly, but, where does the government get the right or authority to do these scans, and, I thought military was not to be used for domestic policing.
Mr. Sellers, your thoughts?

Competition
It wouldn't really be any fun if it was easy. If I had no competition and just waltzed right in, it would be too quiet. This is going to be a campaign to remember. One where grassroots activists help a Liberty candidate expose two RINOs for what they are. All we need to do is get the message out to enough voters.
This is going to be more than just an educational effort. When I take office a year from now, we will have one more sure vote for freedom.

I support the establishment
I support the establishment of a Sound Monetary Policy Commission to chart a new course for our future.
Why doesn't he just support the repeal of legal tender laws?
We need to insure Monetary Policy is set privately by independent local banks issuing competing currencies. If you elect further oversight then you are just changing the players and not the game.
The role of a farmer, in Fukuoka's mind, is an observer, not an intervener, of the natural order in his/her particular landscape. How is that any different than Hayek in regards to Economics?
Legal tender laws
I support the repeal of legal tender laws. I am certainly in favor of competing currencies. The Sound Monetary Policy Commission recomendation is designed to soften the blow to the uninformed. If we had a Commission chaired by Lew Rockwell with people like Tom Woods and Peter Schiff on it, we could end up with real Sound Money. The powers that be will fight this with all they have. If we try to go for all the marbles at once, I think we will not get anywhere in today's climate.
Patrick Henry Sellers
Why delegate the policy towards any convening body?
No matter how great the commission is they will be replaced with money or through threats within their first term as commissioners. The people will react to the repeal of legal tender laws at a local level through local financial intermediaries so instead of planting another seed of socialism by instituting a commission responsible for monetary policy decisions it would only seem necessary to completely decentralize monetary decisions to private, local banks.

Sound Monetary Policy Commission vs. legal tender law repeal
Good question. I've asked Pat to reply,
Snow Cancelations
Looks like Gimmie Jimmy must have made a deal with the devil to get the debate scheduled for Feb 6 canceled due to snow.
I think he was about to get a good swift kick from Pat, and, with the attendance I figured would be there, he was probably hoping to get out of it.

Do I hear a money bomb coming down the road?
!!!
Yes, a Money Bomb is coming down the road
The campaign's focus will turn to fundraising very soon and yes a Money Bomb is forthcoming, but with a twist or two.
Perhaps not surprisingly, donations spiked upward with the launching of the Sellers campaign's Daily Paul ads and this article. To those who graciously donated, a heartfelt thanks on behalf of Pat. To those who have thought about it, Pat can win with your help. Lets go RINO HUNTING!
Incidentally, DP readers, take a look at the real estate that Pat bought here on the DP. Pat has an ad in the right column to the immediate right of Ron that rotates with other ads. Now look at the center column for the same ad and you'll see this lineup from the top of said column: Ron, Gold, Pat and Rand. Sounds good to me.
Awesome!
PA is pretty lucky to have both Jake Towne and Patrick Henry Sellers!
Go get'em guys!

Money Bomb date is forthcoming and to-be-announced. Patrick will light it here personally with a special message. Stay tuned.
I am glad he is running BUT
I am glad he is running BUT look at this primary he must work through! JESUS. He would be running against a Republican incumbent along with many other Republicans, some with massive funds. AND, he then has to defeat a Democratic opponent with over 1 million dollars.
Check this out: http://fec.gov:80/DisclosureSearch/HSRefreshCandList.do?cate...
We see it as opportunity...
The Dec. 2009 FEC report shows 6 GOP primary candidates. Add Pat Sellers and Steve Welch for a total of 8 candidates. 5 of the 8 candidates have withdrawn, so 3 now remain in the race. Click on Jim Gerlach's name on the FEC report. That link will take you to his report. You can see that he burned through more money than he raised. He was left with only $5,000 cash on hand. Broke at that juncture, about a month ago. Very bad left-of-center voting record. All he can really do is claim (he does) that he can appeal to Democrats. On the other hand, Welch publicly admitted voting for Obama and other Republican sins. He will implode.
Turning to the Dem side, Doug Pike has self-funded almost $1 million of his total receipts. He had about $1 million cash on hand at Dec. 2009. He's a Dem machine guy. He'll have to spend a lot of money to feed many mouths. Regional MSM have seemingly anointed him the Dem front runner. Perhaps he is indeed the competition.
Consider that a majority of Americans identify with conservative values. Maybe not as upper case Conservatives, but with said values. Ronald Reagan sold those values and captured the massive middle block of voters. Beyond that, it would be imprudent to discuss general election strategy, but Pat will prevail.
I'm going to merciless rip off Ernest Hancock who graciously visited the Philly area just recently. Freedom is the answer. The question doesn't matter. When anything is in opposition to Freedom, it's bad. We all know that's true. We can sell it.
Thanks for the great reply. I
Thanks for the great reply. I am convinced! good luck, I hope I can help out if at all possible from across state lines
