DR. PAUL, could I have a minute of your time?
Dear Congressman Paul,
I'm taking a stab in the dark here on something one of the Daily Paul forum posts had said.
"I wonder if Ron Paul reads the Daily Paul?"
Well sir, I have a hunch you do. With that being said,
I want to be first here to let you know how much it would mean for me and my family if you run for President of the United States in 2012.
I have 3 young children getting ready to unfurl their sails and chart their course in the rough waters of life. It is my responsibility as a father to make sure they are sea worthy and I am getting that done the best I can. Lately I have noticed some pretty big waves rolling in.
It sure would be nice if we had a good navigator to show us the way.
Congressman Paul, This country needs you to navigate us through this storm. We will do the rowing, we just need you to point the ship!
Please run in 2012!
Respectfully
Dexterszyd from The Daily Paul.

Dear Dr. Paul ...
The decision is yours to make. But frankly, I can't conceive of anyone but you who has proven they have the "strength to resist the temptation of power".

If they yank his subcommittee chairmanship
and give it to someone more "reasonable," that will surely propel him toward a presidential campaign. The most important thing to Ron is getting the ideas out to the public.

Dr. Paul
I support you wholeheartedly in every effort you make toward bringing our Republic back to its Constitutional framework. If you decide to run for President again I will support you - with a song in my heart and every bit of cash I can spare. If you decide instead it's best to endorse someone else and support that person, then that's what I will do as well.
Running for President of this nation is a weighty decision and I will not presume to make a plea one way or the other. You have given so much of yourself to us who are now involved in this movement, I feel it to be the height of selfishness for us to demand that you make this great sacrifice yet again. This is how I truly feel.
If there's one thing I've learned with regard to you it's this. Trust. I trust you implicitly and this is not something that comes easily to my nature. So whatever your decision is, then I will trust it and support it.
This is my pledge and I do not make it lightly or trivially.

great post dexter
We all know the Liberty movement would not be as far along without Dr. Ron Paul. Even in his marginalized campaign of 08, he and the cause of liberty, scored a tremendous victory.
It's a reality that Dr. Paul probably wouldn't win the Repub nomination but that seems irrelevant to me. We need Dr. Paul to "point the ship" as you say, regardless of the outcome. We need a voice in this battle.
In Louisville last Jan., at a Rand fundraiser, Congressman Paul spoke about his voting record. He said that many constituents questioned his votes on certain issues. After explaining his vote they understood and now they seldom question his principle. He said they understand there must be a reason and it probably involves the Constitution.
We need Dr. Paul to keep explaining to the entire nation.

I know
Dr. Paul knows exactly what strategy to use to become President. I want him to decide he will be President and pull out all the stops.
This time there will be no question about invitations to debates and no talk about fringe.
Dear Dr. Paul,
Ever since my childhood, when I first learned about the Constitution, I have had a very strong libertarian streak. Unfortunately, I, like many others, lost sight of my principles and beliefs after 9/11. I became a neocon, which I deeply regret. It took many years for me to awaken and return to my libertarian ways.
I can tell you the very instant it happened. On the Monday before the Super Tuesday of 2008, I attended a rally at Northrup Auditorium that changed my life. Hearing your speech that snowy night was one of the happiest moments of my life. I remember sitting in the balcony and crying tears of joy because I had finally found a group of people with the same beliefs as me. This gave new and total life to my dieing passion for freedom.
The next day, I participated in the delegate process and was elected an alternate. I made it as an alternate all the way to the Minnesota State GOP convention. You may or may not remember it, but I was in the front row of the audience for your speech outside the convention center, and I was directly in front of you. I had planned to bring my tripod so I could easily film your speech, but a forgotten part prevented its use, so I simply held the camera, fighting my tremor, for the duration of the speech. When it was over, I attempted to get my copy of The Revolution signed, but you were told to stop signing books right before you got to me. I did manage to catch you inside and get it signed there. You looked so happy and alive. I laughed at the people who thought you were too old to be presidant, because they couldn't understand the energy and good health you posess (unlike a certain other old candidate).
Moving forward in time, we had the Rally for the Republic. Once again, I was in the front row. Well, technically I was behind you during your speech, as I was leaning on the stage behind you. I got to shake your hand as you left the stage. I made it into several pictures and a video that were shown in various news agencies. Had the picture on the back of your book End the Fed been panned over an inch or two, I would have been in the frame.
Since then, I have dedicated time to read good books like The Creature from Jeckel Island. In an Advanced Composition class I took (college level), our final project was a 10-page research paper on a topic of our choice, so I did the Austrian Free-Market Economic Perspective on the Current Crisis. I apparently made the proffesor turn into a libertarian, because I got a perfect score out of more than 200 points! And it never would have happened without you, Dr. Paul! (I actually sent you a copy of it, but it is unlikely it ever made it to you...)
It never ceases to amaze me on how many things can be explained in terms of the laws of price, supply, and demand, and how government intervention is bad. For instance, I play a model wargame called Warhammer 40K. Most people go to a hobby store that has tables and terrain for the game on a specific game night where they can ask around to organize a game with other players. Now, in this game, certain armies can use certain units that can be close to impossible to defeat.
There was a story about a player who was banned from using one of these super-units by the owner of the store. This player never even got a chance to try and find a player who was willing to play him, because the store owner (the government) was interfering with the process of players talking with each other to get a game going (the free market).
What the owner should have done was let the players themselves decide on what units are too strong to use in a game. If too many people refused to play him (low demand), then that player has incentive to not use it so he can increase the demand for games with him.
That is what the free market is all about! You don't need the government to step in and tell people what they can and can't do because the incentives that come with maximizing the demand for what you are supplying has the controls of what people want already built in.
But I digress! I've rambled on about how I have learned to apply what has been taught. Let's talk a bit about you.
Dr. Paul, as a citizen of America, a voter, and outright fan of freedom, I want you to run for presidant in 2012. You are the only politician I trust to lead this nation. You have proven yourself to be honest, wise, extremely well educated, and a friend to those who love freedom everywhere in the world. When you run in 2012, you will have the support of everyone in the freedom movement and more. Dr. Paul, you may not be from my district, but you represent me, and for that, I thank you!

Dr. Paul, you were a relatively unknown
candidate in the last election cycle. Now you are recognized and respected across the political spectrum as one who foretold the current crisis. Our country need a new vision, of peace and liberty.
The next election cycle will be the educational opportunity of your lifetime. The challenge is huge; we stand ready to support you.
Now more than ever
My wife watches all the RP utubes, she's never had an interest in politics whatsoever. I asked her the other day, "in all the years we've been together I've never known you to listen to politics, what gives."
Her reply, "in all the years you've known me, they've never said anything worth hearing."
I don't know why Dr. Paul, it doesn't matter why, but I have a suspicion it has do do with your moral character. You are the one man who can continue to galvanize the liberty movement you've been working so hard for your entire life.

Read the comments. A 2012 campaign would blow the 2008 one out of the water. 2008 was to introduce you to America & for We The People to get to know you & how qualified you are. Now that everybody knows who you are, your donations would be astronomical!

I don't want you to run!
Before you guys jump on me, hear me out. We must consider the possible downside to his running. The unintended consequences!
2012 will not be the phenomenon that 2008 was. It was unique and first. I do think that this movement is growing, but not enough for victory yet, and not by 2012. Which is where my thoughts run.
I am afraid that another run will begin to marginalize Ron Paul as a perennial candidate.
The 2008 bid catapulted Dr. Paul onto a perch that we could only have hoped for, even in the midst of the election. Did anyone here think that Ron Paul would be so sought after by the media, in positive ways?
My fear is that what is at stake is that perch. And I think it is too important a position to risk losing this time around.
I have been wondering if it would be better for him to find someone to endorse (I know, touchy subject right now). Gary Johnson really comes to mind and has a pedigree that is almost as impressive as Dr. Paul's. I'm sure there are other candidates that I'm not aware of or hadn't investigated.
What if we have a candidate we trust from their past actions, someone who has shared our philosophy for a number of years (proven!) and not someone we have to lead? With Ron Paul's endorsement, and perhaps a commitment to a cabinet position for Dr. Paul (Secretary of the Treasury!).
Couldn't we formulate a plan that would propel us forward again without compromising Ron Paul's influence? Then, maybe, in four more years again, we would have a better shot.
Of course, We are still a ways out from the election, and things are happening at lightning speed. I can also see the other side of this: that Ron Paul should grab this opportunity while this focus is on him. The things he has been predicting have come/are coming to pass, and we still wage war.
Dr. Paul, I assure you that no matter your decision, I will support it. I will stick with this effort to free our country once again. This is our Revolution, but you are our main Leader.
I Am Not Jumping On You,
I am just calmly pointing out how ridiculous your statement is that "2012 will not be the phenomenon that 2008 was." 2012 would be ten times what 2008 was! Ron Paul lost in 2008 for one reason and one reason only: He was unknown to most people and the mainstream media either ignored him, marginalized him, or deliberately tried to paint him as a kook. That simply could not happen this time.
This fact, combined with the sad state of the economy and Obama's broken promises on foreign policy and civil liberties, would make a 2012 run unstoppable.
Ron, please run!
Ron Paul did not lose only
Ron Paul did not lose only because he was an unknown, he lost for many reasons, one of them being vote fraud. I was there when the big guns were out from the RNC to keep him out. If the playing field had been fair Ron Paul could have ran against Barry for sure!
I would find it more ridiculous
to not consider the possible blowback, since our dear Dr. Paul has taught us the meaning of the term!
I could see a scenario where it could be greater. And I can also envision the other scene. A lot will depend on the elections this year, I guess.
Ron, Even Though You Are A Bit Conservative
for my taste (I am at the radical end of the libertarian spectrum), the fact is, if you run in 2012 and win the Republican nomination, you are likely to be the most libertarian candidate on the ballot in the general election. I would proudly vote for you because I know you really mean it on the "big three" liberty issues: The end of American Empire (and all of its excused civil liberties violations), establishing sound money, and abolishing the Income Tax and repealing the 16th Amendment.
I promise that, if you run, I (and I know virtually everyone on this site) would support you in such a dramatic fashion it would make your head spin. Imagine a November 5th, 2011 money bomb that brought in $50 Million. Imagine crowds in the tens of thousands at each of your public appearances. The mainstream media simply couldn't be silent this time or write you off as a kook. You couldn't be stopped.
I know your family is as important to you as ours are to each of us, and I know you wish to spend time with them during your retirement. But what greater gift could you give to them than a freer, more prosperous, more peaceful, and more harmonious country and world?
Please Ron, begin the rebirth of liberty. You are the only person at this point in history who has the potential to do it. Please, give us hope again.
Dr. Paul,
I have so much to say to you than I could ever eloquently express! You are the most inspirational, influential person in my life. You are a rare human being and a statesman/patriot of the highest order, as history will surely record!
To simply thank you, is not enough..but to let you know that yes, I do trust you and respect you. I am strongly for non-interventionism foreign policy and I refer to your book 'A Foreign Policy of Freedom' frequently.
Thank you so much for all you have done and continue to do. Thank you and your beautiful family. I will not ask you to run in 2012 ..that is your decision. But if you DO decide to run in 2012, my support and energy will be with you 100% !!
Sincere Thanks,
Karin
