Fort Worth business owner displays flag in distress, media freaks out
I called this business owner when I saw the flag flying in distress this afternoon off I-35. I thanked her for being brave enough to stand up for her beliefs, and that she‘s not alone. We had a wonderful conversation.
She stated that she attended the march in Washington on this past September. She feels as we all do that our Country is in distress and that our Government isn’t listening to the citizens. The only way to get their attention is to not pay our taxes, and at this time thats not an option. She is a wonderful woman who runs her own business.
Cynthia stated that she heard about the distress signal on the radio and thought it was a good way to send a message. She copied the “flag etiquette rules” and posted them on the front door of her business. That way if anyone had a problem with it they can refer to the rules. I told her to keep up the fight. I asked her who she was going be supporting for Governor of Texas and she replied “Debra Medina. “

"The only way to get their attention is to not pay our taxes, and at this time thats not an option."
This is not necessarily true. Please mention to this lovely brave woman that another effective and peaceful method (if enough people in America actually do it) is to have her cut her cable bill. This would also get the establishments attention not to forget it would also save her money.
The most effective way of doing this though would be for all of us who still have a cable bill to have a precise date/month carved out where everyone cuts the service simultaneously. Say.. the month of May for example...
Say in May 2010, practically half the people in America are without a MSM/cable tv bill; to have cable tv in May 2010 would put you in the minority. Just imagine the message that would send o.O
It's an idea I practically dream of every day for the liberty movement to grab on to and run with united within our network.
hey
i like this!
but i already don't have cable. just internet, which i simply cannot do without currently.
thanks =]
I don't have cable nor a TV either heh
but I really like this idea too. I think it's not only a peaceful action but would be a powerful one. And yes, I am not referring to the internet at all. In fact the internet would be the solution for people to fix the problem in which this idea might create for them.
I am presuming you bring this point up though because of the package deals the ISP/cable/telephone companies offer? No matter, just cut the cable part of the bill.
I would just fricking love to get this idea out at all the independent & tea party people:
May 2010 we should all cut our cable bill. This will send a peaceful and real message that enough is enough.
whoa
this is in my neck of the woods, peeps.
we're gunna hafta head down 35 and visit this lady.
and thinking seriously about doing the same thing.
have been for a while.
we plastered the front of our house with "9/11 was an inside job" for a few weeks about two years ago. that did nothing tto start conversations in our neighborhood. my two neighbors just kept quiet while everyone else - well, we never really talk to anyone but the people directly next to us. which i think has always been odd.
but anyway....i wonder if the flag being upside down would put a different perspective into their heads?
I tell ya what
"everyone else - well, we never really talk to anyone but the people directly next to us. which i think has always been odd."
You make it a point to improve on that, and I will do the same. Let's report back in a week...
What he said!

well....
i DO talk to people in the neighborhood....but it's not like there's a whole lot of camaraderie. and most people in my precinct could give two shits about anything political.....which was evident during the last election when about twelve peeps showed up at the precinct convention. of course the dems had about two hundred packing the auditorium of the same high school as we occupied a classroom next door.
but the point is....that most in my area work full time, they're blue collar and i, myself, have little time to go poking around - even on my own street - to procure friends...let alone voters.
this is the dilemma that, i'm sure, we all face.
sure. i'll work on it.
Core of a patriot
I embrace the sacrifice made by the American soldiers and their families who struggle daily in this conflict. It affects me so deeply that I try to find reason within it for a justification that brings me peace. We as a nation are condoneing the deployment of our service men and women into hostile territory to shelter us from our own fear. The only stated misson by our government in relation to the military action is to route out the "evildoers" and establish a central democratic government to control extremist ideology, so it does not find its way to our shores. When did Americans become such a fearful populace? I say bring our men and women back home with their families, and if the freedom hating hoards descind upon us we can all share the burden of hazard on our turf. Terrorist (or the agents behind them) do not frighten me, but living in a nation blinded by fear absolutly does. We have declared war on a tatic that can be applied to anyone who challenges nationalism as it exists today, like this woman who sees real danger in our governments flawed policies.
I have always thought the actions of men the best interpreters of their thoughts.

I converted a Hutchison supporter.
I was talking to my neighbor this afternoon. At one point I asked her if it might be alright to put a Debra Medina sign on their property, which borders a high traffic area.
She said "Oh we're supporting Kay Bailey Hutchison" I said
Cassandra what in the world has Kay done in Washington ?
Her claim to fame is saying she wouldn't vote for "THE BANKER THEFT" then she turned right around and did it anyway ? She has attended numerous Bilderberg meetings and is loyal to those people, if elected she has no problem with completing the trans Texas Corridor, she told Texas DOT it met the test ? The test being killing small towns, taking 100's of thousands of acres of farm and ranch land and exploding illegal immigration. Not to mention killing what's left of the US economy, American trucking companies and those companies that depend on them to earn a living.
Just one last kick in the nuts, then a final deathblow
Personally, I think it would
Personally, I think it would make a very strong statement if that were to happen nationwide. Imagine driving through America and seeing them all upside down. Think the guys in DC would finally get a hint? It would be covered all over the world and I think that it would help to shame them, and those that didn't understand what it was about would ask questions, more opportunity to talk to them about liberty and the Constitution. Just saying . ..

The comments make it. People
The comments make it. People are unbelievable. From the usual "trash" and "unpatriotic" all the way down to "why doesn't she just wear a KKK hood" and "I hope she loses her business"
WTH.
here is what I wrote!
According to The Flag Code Sec 8 a "(a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property." Texax and the Country as a whole has a huge problem with the establishment croud like Gov Perry and Pres. Obama! The country is far beyond "Dire distress!"
Freedom is NOT free!
thats
great!
Freedom is NOT free!
Isn't a flag just a
Isn't a flag just a propaganda tool used by a government to promote nationalism? Like, I understand the military requires some method of identifying each other and the flag has its uses, but couldn't the military find a different method nowadays and allow the rest of us to refrain from identifying ourselves with a flag?
State flags first
I've begun flying my state flag above the US flag when I go to events. People come up and try to correct me and I go right into 10th amendment issues and why states should be first in the hierarchy. They usually leave agreeing with me.
It is improper use of the flag.
That's supposed to be done for a real emergency, like somebody dying, so that people can respond and save someone.
I of course support her right to do this, but it really is improper use of the flag.
And what if lots of people do this? Then people don't know who is just trying to send a political message and who has a real emergency that needs saving. Then it loses it's effectiveness for what it's really meant for. I recommend not doing this, unless there is a real life-threatening emergency.
I can just picture that
"Honey, you keep the gun on that home invader and I'll run outside and turn the flag upside down".
So it's okay for the
So it's okay for the goverment to declare a state of emergency, but not us. But by that logic the goverment is suppose to be represenative of us. So really it's a wash. No one in Washington is listening to us. Faxes, phone calls, letters, marches. This lady has already done all of the above. It is her property the flag is flying on and I back her 100%.
Do not give into evil, but proceed ever more boldly against it.
lol
It's snowing in Virginia today so the Governor declared a state of emergency. I'm not joking.

the flag code referred to earlier was probably written in revolutionary times or something haha. before the age of the internet and cell phones, that is for sure.
