Revisionists are erasing our heritage!
taken from an email sent by Mathew Staver, Founder and Chairman Liberty Counsel
This weekend, I'll be on Mike Huckabee's television show
to reveal the latest round of attacks on the culture and
heritage of America -- the re-writing of our children's
textbooks. See Below -- Mat.
Right now, the Texas public school system is embroiled in a major
battle over efforts to re-write our history and remove references
to our Judeo-Christian heritage from their textbooks.
The Texas State Board of Education will soon finalize the language
that publishers use to align their textbooks to current "acceptable
standards." Many of the suggestions that are coming forward are
shocking:
+Replacing the term "American" with "Global Citizen."
+Stating that students need to be shaped "for responsible
citizenship in a global society."
+Removing all references to Daniel Boone, General George
Patton, Nathan Hale, and Columbus Day.
+Replacing "expansionism and free enterprise" with
"imperialism and capitalism."
+Even stripping "Christmas Day" from all textbooks.
And since it is one of the nation's largest states, Texas greatly
influences the textbooks and ultimately the curricula employed by
many other states. Tens of millions of children will likely be
impacted.
++That's why we MUST "Take Back America" in 2010
This latest round of attacks on America's
heritage is just one more reason why Liberty Counsel's "Take Back
America 2010" campaign is so important.
If we let the Left re-write our nation's history, our
heritage and our freedoms will be lost forever!
I want to send the strongest message possible to the liberal
elites that we will NOT allow them to destroy our heritage.
But I need your help.
Please...
Join tens of thousands of concerned Americans who have already
signed the "Take Back America" petition:

Liberty Counsel will do everything in our power to stop anti-faith
elites from re-writing our children's textbooks. But I need you
to stand with me right now to "Take Back America."
Thank you and God bless America!

Rewriting History
began in the 1920s. It was an organized effort by Morgan and especially Carnegie (Carnegie Libraries). I've been reading my way through the "5000 Year Leap" and I can say every school kid in America and every other country should be REQUIRED to read this book. It is a careful review of in the inside of our earlier foundation history.
I fear this is only the first step
Next it will be illegal to teach this knowledge to our children and grand children ourselves. There should be riots over this! This direction of thought should be nipped in the bud and forced into the MSM.
I suppose they think it is not fair to the immigrants of this country to force U.S. history on them.

If any of you watched that
If any of you watched that Jericho series after Chuck Baldwin recommended it, you might remember a part of the show where they covered the issue of history being rewritten in the school textbooks.
...
How many involved in local school boards?
We need o fight the battle whenever and wherever we can.
Interesting the reference to "capitalism." Seems to me pure capitalism is free marker and free enterprise....but today it comes with so much more baggage...it is corporatism and jsut another "ism"...one choice among may.
That is why we really need to stress "Free" market and "free" enterprise, because these are part of a "Free" society. And if enterprise and the market is not free, then, really, nothing is.
