NEW YORK – The Dow Jones industrial average closed below 10,000 for the first time in three months Monday on nagging concerns about debt loads in Europe.
The Dow, down almost 104 points, had its 10th triple-digit move in 16 trading days. Shares of big banks pulled the market lower, extending a slump that has led to four straight weekly losses.

The Chinese main investment fund is buying up US stocks while they are chaep. (dump dollars for tangibles)
Asset bubbles?
Everything else has had asset price bubbles, why not gold?

Metals down during the
Metals down during the treasury auctions, which ended around 12pm, but even if gold hadn't turned down at that point, metals have been seeing big take downs lately amidst fake strong dollar news, causing more people to buy treasuries. Many auctions this week, three tomorrow.

Somebody is buying out there, and it isn't stocks.
