Anybody Currently In State University Out There? Question and Comment

I have re-enrolled at my local University of Minnesota and here is what I found and I am wondering if those of you attending State universities have found the same thing.

I am planning to return full time in the fall to switch to the sciences. Because I was an Art major I avoided math so I have to bring my math skills up.

I was told by my adviser I should start with the introduction to Algebra then I would also need an additional intermediate course that would bring me up to college level.

Fine. I'm ok with that.

Here's the kicker though.

In 2007 the University changed the policy regarding full and part time courses. They want people only taking full time and they intend to charge full time tuitions.

So if you need to take a single course that say should cost only $350.00, they are charging $1,400 because they now have a 'full time' policy. So even if you get permission to take part-time, you will still be paying for 4 courses for a single course!!!

I plan to make an appointment with the president of the university and ask where the difference between the actual cost of the course and what I am expected to pay is going?

Expect a report of my findings soon.
