Not Neo-cons, The new word is TEA-O-CONS
more and more ron paul folks are using Tea o cons instead of neo-cons..
catchy and says it all!
TEA-O-CONS: Neo cons who co-opted the Tea Party movement
Very well said.
He is actually in the process of educating interventionist's.
Good change never comes instantly... Dr.Paul is not a doctor for no reason...Dr.Paul is a doctor because has reasoning, but people should not think because he has reasoning that he will budge on his principles for one second, as many supporters will not at all either.
He is a doctor, and a caring physician does not need to hear many words, from a patient or the (sick), to know what is going on inside them.
Body language alone can tell volumes ;)
Personally, I think he is as wise as the serpent and harmless as a dove...
Media might try to shake the tree of support, Don't buy it people- Or I might sell you a pet rock the following Day.
Live well, live free, work happy.
LIBERTY OR DEATH!!!
Some of the comments below...
Based on some of the comments below, you'd think that this was not a good interview... I thought it was just fine.
Front Page -digg in Now and bump! ;)
Neocon Influence is infiltraiting tea parties
http://digg.com/politics/Ron_Paul_Neocon_influence_is_infilt...
The DP is proof that the grassroots support for Ron Paul and his peaceful message of individual liberty is large, real, and not going away!
Not his best one
but I will take it any day of the week.
Credit to Dr.Paul for bringing up the neo-cons
it's where he differs from Palin & other war mongering GOP's & it's the main common ground he has with progressives & peace seeking D's.
Maddow
I thought Paul carried himself well again as usual. If he did ramble a little so what, he is surrounded by morons all day when he is in Washington D.C.. I usually avoid watching Maddow at all cost even if Paul is on because she always gives me a case of the dry heaves when I see her and hear her speak. God, I can not stand the sound of that woman's voice!
I didn't hear any rambling.
He made perfect sense to me.
he hee ^^
That wasn't an interview- Rachel just handed over her mic for 7 minutes. Gotta love it.
On Paul's "incoherence"...
You all have to understand - this is MsM - not the State of the Union
Incoherence or rambling doesn't make a lick of difference - Ron did exactly what he was supposed to do, which was leave the viewer remembering only a few key points, namely:
1. he stands for a different foreign policy, fiscal responsibility, and transparency of the fed
2. on those points expressed in (1), some tea partiers may not agree
3. he doesn't see eye to eye with sarah palin on some issues (but that goes for members of both parties) so it's not a big deal
4. the issues expressed in (1) are issues that reach across the party isle.
Notice - numbers 2 and 3 show his awareness of manuerving the potential issues in his upcoming re-election. He is playing soft with the tea party movement and playing down any sort of issue with Palin's endorsement of Rand.
Numbers 1 and 4 make me smile, because they show that he is still actively focused on a possible 2012 run. He is separating himself and stressing that, unlike many potential leaders, he has his own unique plan and vision for foreign policy, fiscal responsibility, and transparency in congress/the Fed. Then, he tops it off with making the point that those ideas can reach across the isle - and a major quality of a good president is having ideas that can do just that. That fact that Rachael confirmed that they do indeed reach across the isle is just icing on the cake.
I beg you - don't mistake off the cuff discussion and rhetorical manuevering on an MsM talk show as "incoherence". The core issues came through, and that was clearly Dr. Paul's intention.

Excellent insight on your part. I agree!
E Pluribus Unum
Brilliant... you say really?!
Brilliant... listen to this a couple times. He actually blew away her attempt to drag people away from Medina. She is attempting to remind Tea Party newbies that Palin endorsed Rand Paul, get Ron's support of that, then remind them that (Neo) con-man Perry is also endorsed by Palin (and Neocon Brown, and Neocon McCain)!
Maddow tried to focus on the Palin fawning over Rand Paul endorsement, and steer Congressman Paul into that quagmire. He left it be: it is what it is... and steered her right back to his main issues, issues which many in the Tea Party are concerned about, which are clearly not Palin's forte, and for which she holds Neocon and opposite views!!
These issues and his discussion of them, will work towards keeping some of the Tea Party people FROM following Palin towards Perry!!! The Tea Party needs to see the REAL Neocon Palin, her Kissinger and Gingrich handlers, and her real globalist GOP agenda! Then they will support Debra Medina, a far far more important race than Rand Paul's race.
There is method to Paul's debate, for his debate has remained as sly as a fox, but ten times more dangerous to his opponents!
Who the hell decided that
Who the hell decided that Sarah Palin was the Queen of the Tea Party Movement? The Republican Party is trying to take over the Tea Party Movement, but they are not about to adopt the Tea Party issues.
I don't hear the Republican Party talking about ending the undeclared wars. I don't hear the Republican Party talk about abolishing the Federal Reserve. I don't hear the Republican Party condemning the New World Order, and the erosion of our national sovereignty.
The Republicans aren't talking about ending the Patriot Act, and dismantling the Department of Homeland Terrorism. The Republicans have almost nothing in common with the Tea Party Movement.
Let Sarah Palin hang in there with John McCain.
To the credit of the tea
To the credit of the tea party people, I think that a lot of them know that she has no idea what she's talking about, but they want to take advantage of her fleeting moment in the spotlight so that the tea parties in general will be talked about in the media. So far, it is working.
If someone is going to care enough about politics to try to be seen as a "tea party activist", i give them the benefit of the doubt that they wouldn't be so daft as to actually be lead around by mrs. palin, or they should at least be able to see through her when she is talking about subjects that she clearly knows nothing about.
She certainly has developed some talking points and a media personality, but she hasn't taught anybody anything. She never comes up with ideas or new information, and as a result, can't possibly retain the the current level of media coverage that she has held for the past year or so for much longer. The story gets old and people will move on, it happens with every other fad.
Shoot, a family member called and i missed the whole thing
It was good though, I hadn't talked to him for a while. He wanted to know what I was up to. :D
Well usually I shy away from talking politics with family but I decided to go for it. I said I've supporting candidates around the country. "wha?? what do you mean? Like that tea party stuff?"
hahaha, "and here, we, go"
So for about an hour I was able to explain all about the liberty movement, the real tea party and people like Ron Paul and Debra Medina. I explained the importance of constitution, the proper role of government and the encroachment of the federal government on our rights. I had his complete attention. He was blown away, he'd never heard any of that before. He then went on and on about how much sense that all made and how amazing it was that there were actual candidates running all over he country on these principles. He seemed genuinely pumped that there are answers and principled politicians out there. He never really paid attention to politics, believing it all to be a bunch of lip service, but now he's excited about it. Just thought I would share that.
Now where's the youtube link? Oh good, you guys are quick! thanks!
Great story!

One thing that came across in this interview
is the idea of agreement across party lines. Isn't that what President Obama has been talking about these last few days? But Ron Paul was talking about it from the vantage point of his actual experience of it. It's not about the idea of "bipartisanship," but rather about what we can all agree upon simply because it's smart, it makes sense and, because of this, will get us to that better place. As Dr. Paul is fond of saying, "Freedom is popular!" (it is also smart)
I was a bit disappointed in
I was a bit disappointed in this interview. Ron, as much as I love the guy, has rambled on a lot lately and I don't think he fully answered the Palin question tonight. Maybe this is because I've seen so many interviews and I already know his lines that he often uses, but yeah it looked like even Rachel got lost.
Maybe it's me, but I thought
Maybe it's me, but I thought Ron Paul spoke very clearly. You've got to remember, there are 3 'supposed' tea party candidates opposing him in the March 4 primary: and they are getting 'supposed' tea party supporters based on their slandering of his foreign policy. If he loses that race, it would be a travesty.
The conversation went something like the following-- note: he was very very careful not to step on Palin, but, at the same time state that her endorsing his son does give him pause. He specifically rambled alittle at that point so that if you didn't follow him closely, you might have missed his answer on Palin. I _know_ this tactic-- because I use it all the time when I get caught in a situation like that ;-).
-------------------------------------------
Maddow: Palin endorsed your son. Is there anything about her platform that gives you pause about that endorsement?
Paul: I could say that about most Republicans-- so, yes, there is.
And, yes, there's alot of things I disagree with the 'average' Republican on.
-------------------------------------------
He needs to be careful with March 4 coming up soon. My gut tells me if he wins March 4 (God willing) he will be quick to distance himself from Palin. If he does not separate himself from her, I will be disappointed too.
Ron twice mentioned neo-cons
And your analysis was well done, charrob.
Dr. Ron wasn't quite as frank as he might have wanted to be, because of the upcoming election dynamics. He would want to use any media time he could get, to connect with the host in a personable way, while answering on point with his consistent message.
Ron Pauls' use of the term, neo-con, was quite intentional.
Liberals have tried to change their label to "progressive", as if a name change would improve their selling points for a utopian.
Neo-cons are doing the same with the tea party movement; trying to sell empire-building to independent folks who have not trusted them before, for good reason.
For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst and provide for it. - Patrick Henry
I still emailed Rachel thanking her
rachel@msnbc.com
.
what did you thank her for, bringing up a worthless pathetic and heavily SKEWED topic to have the good Dr come on in an attempt to make him burn bridges?
how very swell of her
thanks rachel
probably to thank her for bringing on dr paul, being polite, showing him respect, for letting her watchers hear dr paul's side (our side) of the political debate.
i also would/will thank her for showing that clip from 2007 that showed tea party members marching for ron paul.
make him burn bridges? i guess ur talking about the palin/rand question. hers was a fair question and he handled it well.
usual stuff i think.
I pledge, do you?
Perhaps letting him speak,
Perhaps letting him speak, and giving him more time to speak than she did during the segment. The message is getting out loud and clear, and they are finding it ever more difficult to suppress the Truth.
Rachel
would be great with Jesse on Conspiracy Theory. Good cop, bad cop.
I think Ron was practicing
I think Ron was practicing some common sense of "first do no harm". He could not agree with Palin and her stupidity, on the other hand he did not want to put her down because of her endorsement of Rand for the Senate. He walked a tight rope. I am disappointed that he did not take the opportunity to put in a plug for Medina.
He has agreed to support Texan Republican incubments
No suprise.
Free includes debt-free!
It would be rare to see him
It would be rare to see him go after specific personalities. He seems to have a policy of avoiding personal insults and criticism. He tends to attack the ideas and philosophies of freedom's enemies. I learn a great deal from his diplomatic rhetoric.
thanks
that was well put.
I pledge, do you?
I love Ron Paul with the rest of you...
but he's getting old and is losing his ability to make sense and stay on topic. I think he's guilty of trying to cram too much information into too short a time span. He'd be better served just to answer the two or three questions he gets asked without trying to put his whole platform on the television in three minutes.
But, maybe when he does that more liberals will go and do some research on him and find out what he's all about. Regardless, his being on the show is an overall positive.
