New 'world order' coming for docs

The title of this front page article of Healthcare IT News caught my eye.
"New 'world order' coming for docs"
http://www.healthcareitnews.com/news/new-world-order-coming-...
It seemed like just an article about improving physician-patient communication using modern technologies like iPhones, video chat and texting(?!).
So its just a cute title for another medical technology article, right?
But then it started talking about how all of us docs should be moving toward "virtual" (i.e. electronic) patient visits and integrating everything with the Obamacare electronic medical record system.
Sounds like it would make it a whole lot easier for the NSA to keep tabs on how your hemorrhoids are coming along, doesn't it?

My boss told us his victory story last week.
He said last year he made an appointment for a check up with his M.D.
He said he got their 'on time' but by the time the doctor actually saw him it was a little over an hour. So Tony said, "You are an hour late". Doctor: "I am busy and its always like this". Tony: "Well, I am busy too. Isn't my time as valuable as yours?"
This upset Tony and he stubbornly went to the small claims court and sued his doctor. He got $1,500 check from his M.D.
Tony said when he received this check he ripped it in two because he was just glad to make the point. When asked if he ever heard from his doctor again, Tony said, "Oh of course I went back. He's a good doctor but he just needed some help respecting other's time. He says now when he makes an appointment he is seen immediately!
I am going back to University precisely
to become a Naturopathic doctor. What I consider a 'real' doctor. I believe in non-profit organization of health centers that provide true preventative methods of caring for oneself.
That is what I intend to help create where ever my residence will be after 6 years from now.
One of the finest, yet quietest, non-profit centers is in Pennsylvania in Bucks County. It is called Woodlands Health and Research Center and has been in existence since 1966.
I would invite you all to pay attention to this astounding, inexpensive center that is providing true health care for a fraction of cost.

People should go to the doctor less
anyway. If only Americans actually took care of ourselves and didn't eat so much garbage.
Absolutely right
Prevention is key to NOT developing an illness.
There is no preventative medicine out there.
Does anyone envision a day
Does anyone envision a day where people will no longer have a "family doctor"???
Also, will the Iphone app have a built in 90 minute wait time?
LOL
"will the Iphone app have a built in 90 minute wait time?"
The physician robots moving down the hallways...
with a TV in their chest and a speaker in their metal heads, while the doc sits at his desk at the controls having coffee enjoying himself.
That kind of medicine is a joke and offensive.
So are these virtual visits.
How do you exam the patient?
All current billing involves face-to-face contact, and the time spent with the patient.
Soon they will be talking about virtual doctors.
Who really IS that guy talking in the mic, a doc or an impostor?
Would you feel good about taking orders from a robot?
What malpractice insurer will underwrite telemedicine visits run amok?
Thanks for the post 'spacehabitat.'
We both may end up practicing out there, the last frontier!
Coming soon to a clinic near you,... RoboDoc!
Actually, I wouldn't worry too much about doctors getting paid for doing nothing. As far as I know They have never gotten around to figuring out how to reimburse doctors for telemedicine.
If and when they do, you can bet it will be chickenfeed.
This is just another way to undermine the middle class in America. When this becomes commonplace there will be no reason not to outsource the rest of our medical care to India. The only jobs in "health care" left for native-born Americans will be changing bed pans.

Mike , not I!
I will go to the grave before accepting a chip , this is one of the hills I am willing to die on! My children are not vaccinated, how much less will I allow a chip to be placed in me (or them, for that matter) regardless of the government hack 'docs' who claim "It's perfectly safe!"! Revelation does not seem so far off anymore. I have been listening to Daniel Amos' 'The Revelation', and it is just eerie how it is all coming into sight.
But that man should play the tyrant over God, and find Him a better man than himself, is astonishing drama indeed!~~D. Sayers

Well, that's one.
Same thing for me and my family. Let's hope others follow suit. Honestly, do you think they will?
