Beginning Of The End: Sarah Palin Hijacks The Tea Party Movement

There is much truth in this article, and it annoys me to no end. Would changing the name of our movement drive a stake into the heart of this beast?

The tea party movement is dead. The one I was familiar with anyway. Judson Phillips held it down and Sarah Palin drove a stake right through its heart live last night on C-Span in front of an unsuspecting audience.

Sarah Palin didn’t give a tea party speech last night. She gave a partisan Republican address. It was a purely political speech designed to position her for a presidential run in 2012 or 2016. Period. She wasn’t there to celebrate the organic nature of a movement she had nothing to do with creating. She was there to co-opt the name and claim the brand as hers. And she did.

The movement, that came to be officially recognized almost a year ago but whose roots go back further than that, has been snuffed out and replaced in the public mind. The movement that began as a people’s movement of angry independent, libertarians and conservatives will now be thought as the movement of people like Palin, Dick Armey, Judson Phillips, Mark Skoda, etc. Essentially, a wholly owned subsidiary of the “Official Conservative Movement” and the Republican Party.

Keep these two thoughts in mind!

She's not that smart, and we're not that stupid!

That was a trial balloon by her campaign - it did not fly!

One thing to keep in mind...

The people that she appeals to are the status quo partisan republicans. She will not take votes from the tea party candidates, as the partisans are going to vote for the status quo anyways, and the best we can do is expose her for what she is. She has already been called out by her base on face book when they asked why she was supporting McCain. There was a statement made that since she is supporting McCain several of her supporters are stating that she does not follow her true conservative values. As she attempts to claim the tea party for the neocons (which was discussed as her motive here during the very first national tea party)slowly but surely many of her base see her for what she is. I predicted this many months ago, and now I will guess that she will be exposed well before she makes any ripples in the liberty pool. The tea party movement was never in total control of the liberty movement, and I think we can be more effective supporting "our" candidates and explaining why they are the best to the local voters. So keep your heads up, and never stop telling people who Palin is and what she supports, as this needs to be hammered home far and wide.

Always remember:
"It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds." ~ Samuel Adams

Stay IRATE, remain TIRELESS, and set those BRUSH FIRES everywhere you go and in all you do!

oh I absoulutly disagree

especially the younger women who are sarah fans.We need to stop bashing sarah before this election.

Oh my, and after reading the

Oh my, and after reading the comments I'm even more saddened! There's definitely some sock puppet astro-turfing going on in there, or the majority are just deluded.

For an informed citizenry, individuals must discard the television set in favor of the acquisition of information via either books and/or the internet. An uneducated populous will remain in ignorance and thus continue to suffer the sharp ax of tyranny.

look guys can we lay off the Sarah bashing

for a little while look weve got what we wanted and she endorsed Rand. We cant do it all at once.Down here their are alot of Sarah fans who just might happen to be Debra fan lets not turn them off lets tone down the reuterric.

It sounds like people want us

It sounds like people want us to bullshit them until we get their votes. That's not the way my R3volution operates. If the Palin supporters that come here can't digest or refuses to understand that the majority of what Sarah talked about was in direct opposition to the principles that we founded the RP R3volution on, let them go I say.

I'd rather they left the party because we were honest about our platform than lie to them until another neo-con comes around for them to worship.

Killer fact - Palin got $100k to give that "grassroots" speech. Tickets were $500. It was a neo-con event.

Ya... and she turned out a whopping

600 people! Big whoopee- Ron can turn out a crowd that size at a Jr. High School on a Tuesday!

Some people are always gonna go for that "golly gosh, you betcha" folksy bullshit that Sarah exudes. We'll never get them anyway. We don't need or want 'em. Our message can't be dumbed-down enough to appeal to them. The Republicans are attempting to usurp the tea-partiers in an vain attempt to reassemble Reagan's "moral majority". It's a dead (almost literally) strategy. It's not gonna work- most American's are smarter than that.

It's not the beginning of the end- it's the END OF THE BEGINNING.

Thats not very good politics my friend

do you think that when Rand met Sarah .Rand come out and started bashing her and calling her a neocon .Now they were friendly cordial im not saying we should restrict conversation but lets tone down the like retoric we dont want to hurt Debra

Look at the bright side...

Look at the bright side... our r3volution held a simple fundraiser and it turned into a huge movement. If we can do that then imagine the things we can do with just a bit more effort.

Ron Paul 2012!!!
