Scary Bachmann Shows True Colors

Michele Bachmann, the outspoken conservative House representative from Minnesota, says the United States will cease to exist if it "fails to stand" with Israel.
"I am convinced in my heart and in my mind that if the United States fails to stand with Israel, that is the end of the United States," Bachmann said at a meeting of the Republican Jewish Coalition in Los Angeles on Feb. 6.
Bachmann went on to explain that God's special relationship with Israel means the US would be cursed if it were to oppose Israeli policies.

First, Pat Robertson says Haiti is cursed by God and now this. Why is there no outrage? Is seems that because one professes to be a "Christian", then one can get away with thinking and saying anything!

The point is not whether we
support Israel or not... No one can blame Israel for wanting to defend itself or Jews for self preservation. But hell, they have a superior fighting force in the region as well as the latest technology...
There is also nothing wrong with going to war to defend one of our allies... We learned this lesson a little too late in WW II.
The core problem is that if we base our foreign policy on sentiment or religion, we "entangle" ourselves needlessly and spend billions of dollars we don't have. Also, it is used as a cover for other hidden agendas as well as a manipulative tool like other religious issues such as abortion, gay rights, fiscal conservatism, etc.
