Lambert, 28 , also wants Texas to be prepared with an alternative currency should inflation spiral out of control and drive down the value of the dollar.

So he proposes that Texas nullify a federal legal tender law so that gold and silver can be used as official currency, an idea that has been promoted by U.S. Rep. Ron Paul , R-Lake Jackson.

"I just want to have the system in place so that you have the ability to do it. You're not trapped," Lambert said. "I'm not trying to force a change on people."
