PATRIOT ACT UP FOR RE AUTHORIZATION

Now, ever so quietly, the Obama administration is working with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi to sneak reauthorization of the Patriot Act through without creating a stir among liberty-minded Americans.
The Patriot Act, One of the things Obama said he would eliminate during his campaign. Now they want to renew it and Obama is endorsing it. Don’t let them get away with it twice. The Patriot Act has done nothing to guard against terrorism but can and has been used to harass our own citizens and rob us of freedoms , like the freedom of speech. They can monitor all your private mail, telephone calls, e-mail, Track where you go, what you do, who you speak to, all in the name of national security.

Now insiders tell me Harry Reid plans to sneak the Patriot Act re-authorization through the Senate as soon as they come back into session as part of a massive $85 billion special interest giveaway as a “Jobs Bill.”
This bill is loaded with pork barrel spending and pay-offs to favored senators, union bosses and big government advocacy groups, and is itself another nail in the coffin of America's economic stability.

We depend on intelligence professionals to learn about threats to the safety of the American people and to alert us if anything threatens the survival of our country. Terrorists are still operating with predatory intent toward the United States of America. To keep our country safe, our intelligence professionals must have the tools and support that they need.
Equally as important is ensuring that individuals' rights are protected from abuse of these powers. I believe that in the face of unprecedented threats to our country, we must be vigilant and stand sentry against our enemies. But we are a nation of laws and we all must live by the rule of law. As a democracy, the rule of law is one of our country's most important characteristics.
In December 2009, provisions of the PATRIOT Act will expire due to the sunset provision that I fought to have included in the PATRIOT Act when it was debated in 2005. This fall the Judiciary and Intelligence committees will be closely reviewing these provisions of the PATRIOT Act and will hold hearings as part of their review.
That is why sunset provisions are critical - they allow Congress to revisit the tools that are working and those that are not.

In other words "This state (pick one) doesn't recognize a Patriot Act, any kind of federal enforcement activity concerning "The Patriot Act" within the borders of (said state) will be considered a violation of this states laws and those attempting to enforce in violation of state law will be prosecuted.

As you may know, the Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism (USA PATRIOT) Act was passed in a bipartisan response to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, and key provisions were also renewed in a bipartisan manner in 2006. The act expanded the authority of various law enforcement agencies to locate, track, and apprehend terrorists, their supporters, and their sponsors, and it has been a valuable tool in protecting our country from further attacks.
