It seems that we have let a very serious topic slip away here, i.e. Codex Alimentarius.
The following is a highlight summary of the video "Codex Alimentarius & Nutricide," by Dr. Rima Laibow.
In the video she states that, Codex Alimentarius is a “trade commission.” The purpose of this trade commission is to make money at REGULATING EVERYTHING PEOPLE WILL BE “ALLOWED” TO EAT.
She said that, if Codex Alimentarius is allowed to succeed, it will result in a minimum of 3 billion deaths world wide. She said that, this is the WHO & FAO own epidemiological projections, not hers. She said this would occur because starvation and problems with genetically modified foods and the nutrient value of our foods will be dramatically reduced via the Codex enforcement of regulations to irradiate ALL FOOD.
The radiation will, to varying degrees, destroy the nutrient amounts in the food. Second to this vitamins are to be regulated, thus much harder to obtain. This vitamin deficiency, combined with the decreased nutriant levels in food values will result in gross malnutrition world wide. Malnutrition contributes to immune system break downs, which, in turn, induces an endless host of other complications.
Moves showing that this is now taking place can be seen by the recent actions of Canada’s pharmacy regulators. A couple of days ago (02-10-10) Canada announced that they are getting ready to ban ALL unlicensed natural health care products.
People don’t let this happen! The time to stop this IS NOW! Do not wait until you are sick and/or starving, by then it is too late.
With that said I believe, some of the produce in my local big-chain super markets is BEING IRRADIATED. For that reason I am warning others to grow your own or buy local and support your local farmers.

OK, so you’re telling us that if you cut a fruit or vegetable in half,
and wait 2 or 3 hours to see if it starts turning brown …
(most stores wouldn’t let you do that before you buy it) ...
or buy them, take them home and put them in your fridge for 6 months,
and if they still look good, they have been irradiated, so don’t eat them.
Do you have any real-life, real-time suggestions on how a person can go into a market, buy some fruits or vegetables, take them home, and eat them ... without feeling paranoid about it?

.... To find out if it is, when you go to prepare one of your fruits or veggies take a small piece of each one and place it on your counter and leave it at room temperature. If it doesn't start some ageing or browning within at least two hours, it probably is.
Better yet, just leave some whole pieces in your fridge and watch if they age at all in 2 months. If they don't age, leave them and see how long they will last. It will really supprise you.

you appear to be saying, AGAIN, don't ever eat anything until after you have left it on your counter, at room temperature, for at least 2 hours, or, better yet, at least 2 months in your fridge.

Someone asked the question about "how they can tell if their food is irradiated?"
I responded by giving them a quick test they can try. Point being irradiated food ages very slowly. Of course the longer time you give the test, the greater the probability.

The USDA's version of organic has lots of loopholes.
Example:
"But many beer drinkers may not know Anheuser-Busch got the organic blessing from federal regulators even though Wild Hop Lager uses hops grown with chemical fertilizers and sprayed with pesticides"
The article goes on to say that foods labeled organic can use non-organic ingredients if those ingredients aren't "readily available"...

Supposedly, the bad guys are irradiating all of our food, even after it is organically grown, before it gets to our local stores.

I accidently had all caps on. i'm at work and i typically type
with all caps here. If it comes with a 09 beginning the bar code number of the produce that means that the food is certified by the USDA, the farmer used a proper growing medium, no synthetic fertilizers. Although I don’t trust the USDA, it is the best approach I can come up with while shopping locally

my certified organic apples sometimes don't brown. Have they been irradiated?
depends on the apple
Cortlands, Shizukas, Scarlet Surprise, Golden Delicious and some others don't turn brown. It has to do with the acid level in the fruit.

My Jonathans, which I harvested last September, and kept in my cool room, are still just fine, and don't turn brown.
My Galas are just fine, too.
Whereas my Boskops do turn brown within a little while after cutting ... just as they did when they were fresh off the tree in October. That's why I used them mainly for pies and apple sauce.
I wonder if dailypauler has actually ever grown anything.
note- *none of my home-grown produce is "certified" by anyone. I just grow it all, with no pesticides, and with no interference from anyone. So I don't even really know what all this "certified organic", etc. nonsense is all about.*

I'm telling ya folks . . . . . .
When I first wrote this piece and being that Codex was such big news, I thought everyone on this site was up to speed on the issue.
However by reading some of the posts, I realized that some people still never heard about it, so this can come across as a too far out there, for some thinking, "they wouldn't do that." Well if you think this and have not yet checked into what I'm talking about here, I hope you will do your duty as an American and at least look into it a little. Codex Alimentarius may be one of the most powerful organizations never heard of. It is important to get this message out… great job! The produce in Tampa, Fl is disgustingly modified. I rely on my garden and the farmers market for now…but the Farmers market even sells GMO foods sometimes so you have to stay aware of the Bar Code, and most of the tents are for artwork instead of fresh produce.
It is scary to see the destruction of agriculture reach this level… soon it will be impossible to polyculture farm in Florida due to the monocultures spreading synthetic fertilizers and destroying the soil. Our land here has weak immune systems just as we do… all organic crops are falling to diseases because the soil is ruined all over the state.
We can’t let Free Markets and Free Agriculture become a thing of the past... thanks for posting!

Codex A is a real threat. I watched the "Future of Food" at Hulu.com about Monsanto and the unhealthy/dangerous GMO food being grown/produced from their "terminator" seeds. It's an eye-opener. We need to keep ourselves constantly informed as to how our foods are being grown at the pharms that get the biggest subsidies from the govt. Profit, not nutrition is what they're after, along w/the demise of many to help them along in their quest to control population.
