Why I am moving on from the Daily Paul.
I found the DP about a year ago, after the election of Obama woke me from my slumber of apathy. However, I was still very "neocon" in thought when it came to the wars. Somehow I stumbled upon you tube videos of Dr Paul, and they led me to this site where I opened my mind and began questioning everything i thought i knew. I credit this site for much of my exposure to the real issues that threaten Liberty. I believe that the people on this site are wonderful and committed to the restoration of a Constitutional government, and I believe that this is a great site to come to to catch up on some news and views.....
With that being said, I have come to a point where I have learned enough to stand on my own to make decisions rather than just sitting back and seeing what "veterans" have to say about any given issue. And I have come to the conclusion that my ideology/approach does not align with that of this site's creator. The main issues that tipped the scale in my decision to move on from the DP are the hasty attacks that I see, such as the C4L/ken buck attack, the hasty removal of support for Peter Schiff (that continues still, which baffles me considering that Rand Paul holds the same views as Schiff, but is not unsupported), and lastly, the hasty disregard for the Articles of Freedom.
I fully understand that this is Mr. Nystroms site and he has every right to do with it whatever he wishes. And I am not attacking him, this site, or anyone on this site. I just wanted to say my peace before i departed. I think everyone here is doing a terrific job fighting for liberty, but i feel that "hastiness" undermines that effort to some extent.
I wish you all well, and i will always be a part of the Liberty movement now, just in a different forum or way. I want to thank all of you for helping me "wake up" to the false L/R paradigm, but I feel that the lack of support for C4L, Schiff, and the AOF are too important to me to remain.
We all must find the issues that we feel are most important to us, and put all of our energy into them. I wish everyone prosperity in their endeavors and struggles and I hope you are not made upset by my post.

The DP is the "cutting edge".

Hope you bounce back from time to time. I usually only get irritated from the conspiracy stuff. Much like Ms. Medina probably is now.
The hastiness over the C4L was a mistake. One that Mr. Nystrom was nice enough to clarify.
If the DP really doesnt support Schiff, Im very disappointed.
Keep the torch lit and remember to light fires in the minds of those around you. It feels like an uphill battle while herding cats at times. The satisfaction of witnessing the light bulb sparking because of your influence is an incredible feeling.

But I just come to listen. I have learned alot here and will continue to do so. I don't agree with all the alarm about C4L. Until we solidify on a platform we are going to disagree alot. We have to learn how to disagree with eachother politely.

It's hard to tell a story
That really began 7+ years ago in 9 minutes. The cop part only started 3 years ago.
As for where we are now. Newspapers won't print until I file in federal court. The insurence company kicked it back to the city. That is a bit strange. I am about halfway done with my complaint. This is my first federal court action so I have a bit of a learning curve to climb.
I have to argue in state court on Monday in my libel action against the purported writer of the nasty letter. They refuse to answer my complaint. I got a good judge hearing the motion and believe I will prevail in not having to amend.
Damn I sound like a fitthy lawyer.

Everything is not for everyone. We're in the midst of a revolution. Everyone is jockeying for position, and trying to figure out where they/we fin in to what is going on.
I am truly gratified that you learned something and you'll leave with a more informed perspective than when you arrived. If that is true, then the Daily Paul has done its job.
To take a zen analogy, zen is like the finger pointing at the moon. The goal is the moon. Some people end up getting focused on the finger, both in the practice of zen, and in this practice of freedom as well.
The Daily Paul is a finger. Ron Paul is a finger. But these are not the goals. The goal is Freedom, Liberty, the Abolition of the Fed, the rollback of the police state, the restoration of our rights, a humble foreign policy - many things. There are many ways to reach our many goals.
I don't like the fact that I'm getting politicized. I guess that comes with the territory, but it really isn't what I signed up for. Maybe I'm naive, but like I said elsewhere, I just stumbled into this.
Ultimately, there is only one person I have control over, and that is me, and I have to stay true to myself. The same is true for everyone here. Those who are putting pressure on me to endorse one thing or another are not respecting that principle.
Again, I agree with Jane:

and I check all the liberal sites I can too. I believe you have to be immersed in all opinions and ideas on a given subject before you can argue your point with any conviction. I do not agree with everyone and every post on these forums but I will not stop from coming here because I have outgrown it. Neo-con forums are different than liberals forums and they are different than libertarian forums. I get all the information I can from all sources and make up my mind accordingly.
