I just got done searching the major networks websites for news of the Tea Party and our success. Not much of MENTION at all! SOMETHING MUST BE DONE! We must all collectively brainstorm what we must do in order to stop this abuse! Pleas post some IDEA'S and lets get together as well on this issue!

Vancouver,Canada Meet-Up Group - 300 Ron Paul signs/banners
From midnight last night to 3.00 a.m., nine members of the Vancouver meet-up group put on poles, in boulevards, over bridges, 50 18" x 24"plastics signs in metal on major boulevards, 250 3 foot long pole signs on wooden utility poles, and two 20-foot banners on some major overpass bridges.
It was pouring rain and soggy going (especially on boulevards) but a whole lot of fun. Pictures and video soon.
Most were still on the street by noon today and most pole signs were still attached 24 hours later, tonight, which is surprising and great.

I emailed all my friends and neighbors...Subject: "My little grassroots effort".
I forwarded them one of Ron Pauls Boston Tea Party fundraising emails along with several website addresses. To my delight, 2 of my correspondences so far have each donated $100 each. I encouraged my entire email list to forward, "My little grassroots effort" to their email lists. I know several have because I received it back from friends of friends of friends!!!!
Isn't this awesome? Everyone step out of your comfort zones and try it.
My friends seem to like the fact that this is a "Grassroots" effort...not an in your face proposition...and some even like the idea of playing a role in it.

It is 1:30PM and I just got back from the tea party. I had to leave early to pay the bills, so it is still going on. They were just starting to walk to Union Square, as I left. We were in front of the historic Ferry Building, on the Embarcadero. We lined both sides of the streets and got lots of thumbs up and honks from the cars driving by us. A few stopped, rolled their windows down, made positive comments and asked for literature. I think that the best is yet to come here.

The campaigns goal for the quarter was $12 mil. and that is why the thermometer was set to $12 mil, I assume.
If you check the official campaign web site, the thermometer is not the graphic and hasn't been since about 02:00 this early morning.
So maybe you should rag on the people who have the thermometer widget on their web pages instead of ragging on the campaign?

IRS Busting Attorney Joel Hansen to Speak at Vegas Tea Party!
IRS Suffers Stunning Defeat at Las Vegas Trial Concerning Coin Wages (Oct. 18, 2007)
Around noon on Monday, September 17th [2007], a Las Vegas federal jury returned its verdict refusing to convict nine defendants of any of the 161 federal tax crimes they had been charged with. The charges included income tax evasion, willful failure to file and conspiracy to evade taxes.
The four-month trial centered around the family businesses of Robert Kahre who paid numerous workers for their labor with circulating gold and silver U.S. coins, and did not report the wages. The payments took place over several years, allegedly totaling at least $114 million dollars.
According to defense attorney Joel Hansen, who represented co-defendant Alex Loglia, the primary "willfulness" defense was that the defendants believed they had no legal obligation to withhold, pay income taxes or report anything to the government because, in part, the nominal (i.e., face value) of the gold and silver coins is so small as to fall beneath the reporting thresholds set by the Internal Revenue Code.
The Defendants also argued that regardless of the valuation of the coins for internal revenue purposes, there is no law that requires average American workers to file or pay direct, un-apportioned taxes on the fruits of their labor.
The Government argued that the payments in solid gold and silver U.S. coins must be considered at their bullion (i.e., intrinsic full-market) value when considering the worth of the wages for purposes of the internal revenue code.
Attorney Hansen cited two Supreme Court cases bolstering Defendant's monetary argument at the heart of the defendants "willfulness" defense.
The essence of the argument is that under the Constitution Congress is obligated by law to mint and circulate such coins as demand requires, and must establish the value of coins as they are used as legal tender, but the coins' market value, arising as valuable personal "property," is a distinct, separate attribute of such coins, and is of no legal consequence if the coins are used as legal tender.
In other words, if a worker is paid with such coins, his taxable "income" (if any) can only be the face value indicated upon the coin money paid -- i.e., $1.00 for a circulating silver dollar or $50 for a circulating gold U.S. coin. Not surprisingly, the IRS has never issued any public guidance regarding this significant issue...
