Bachmann: America ‘cursed’ by God ‘if we reject Israel’
" I am convinced in my heart and in my mind that if the United States fails to stand with Israel, that is the end of the United States . . . [W]e have to show that we are inextricably entwined, that as a nation we have been blessed because of our relationship with Israel, and if we reject Israel, then there is a curse that comes into play. And my husband and I are both Christians, and we believe very strongly the verse from Genesis [Genesis 12:3], we believe very strongly that nations also receive blessings as they bless Israel. It is a strong and beautiful principle.
Right now in my own private Bible time, I am working through Isaiah . . . and there is continually a coming back to what God gave to Israel initially, which was the Torah and the Ten Commandments, and I have a wonderful quote from John Adams that if you will indulge me [while I find it] . . . [from his February 16, 1809 letter to François Adriaan van der Kemp]:
I will insist that the Hebrews have done more to civilize men than any other nation. If I were an atheist, and believed in blind eternal fate, I should still believe that fate had ordained the Jews to be the most essential instrument for civilizing the nations. If I were an atheist of the other sect, who believe or pretend to believe that all is ordered by chance, I should believe that chance had ordered the Jews to preserve and propagate to all mankind the doctrine of a supreme, intelligent, wise, almighty sovereign of the universe, which I believe to be the great essential principle of all morality, and consequently of all civilization.
. . . So that is a very long way to answer your question, but I believe that an explicit statement from us about our support for Israel as tied to American security, we would do well to do that."

Apparently she has never read the TORAH
One needs to read the whole word of GOD & not pick what you want to hear..Israel had more than the Torah & Ten Commandments , they had the living breathing God incarnet amoungst them..
I am all for relating to the Nation of Israel but they do not see gentiles as their equals..They believe they can be justified by law instead following their Prophets who proclaimed the Word of God..The Law was not their salvation but to show the way of salvation..God's Salvation, today, is imparted to become united within a person's being.. That which is imparted, must be God"s Spirit, for only God, external or internal, can defeat sin & satan..If there was any other way to defeat sin & satan, Christ died for nothing..God would have sent His Son for no good reason..
When Isralites got out of the way , they witnessed the salvation of the LORD..God is going to restore the Nation of Israel to the place HE wants it to be, not by works of men but by HIS hand it will be done..Jews do not see Gentiles as you would want to believe..However God has made a commitment we too as Gentiles cannot ignore..His Word lasts forever..We do need to respect His Word...We also must promote the ideals that are taught in God's Law & Christ's teachings..Christ did not come to promote himself but to SHOW & DO the will of His Father..
For the will & charachter of God are one..All these testiments are of God's Charachter, which HE wants all humans to exhibit..NOT BY FORCE but by free choice.
Good one!
"Christ did not come to promote himself but to SHOW & DO the will of His Father."
I appreciate that thought very much! To me, it explains what is meant by the Christ's proclaimation, "I am the way, the truth, and the light..."

M. Bachmann
Keep your eyes and ears on her. Alot of people believe she's "all that" without realizing or acknowledging all the statist baggage she brings with her.
She'll contribute to keeping us unlawfully embroiled in the Middle East among other things. I'm sure she's a decent person in her own way but as a POLITICIAN she scares me.
This country needs more politicans who DON'T believe government should be the central organizing principle for society and she's just not one of them.
I learned a saying a long time ago: "One can be sincere and be sincerely wrong".
So much for a Secular government
.
AAAAWWWWW!!!
Geesh....another one down. I really liked Bachmann's direct manner in Congress. I thank her for her honesty but why does support for Israel have to mean a cornerstone for approval? The creation of Israel after WW2 has done nothing but cause irreparable harm in the middle east. Using Israel as a buffer armed state for US control of the area is killing us all not to mention all those civilians who disagreed over the last 60 years. It is unfortunate that Bachmann felt Jewish approval for her politics was a prime necessity in the first place. Good Grief..we are all F@#$@#.
Can you say Koo Koo for Cocoa Puffs!

"Human beings with love and compassion are some of the most beautiful creatures in the universe... Those without are a plague on us all."
And this, my dear friend
And this, my dear friend Devon Saunders, is why religious viewpoints ARE important when considering a candidate and why all things being equal, I'll take an agnostic or atheist over the biblical literalist every time.
Support freedom and liberty candidates in 2012... Ron Paul... Gary Johnson...
Biblical literalism
VU,
I agreed with you up until the last part of your statement. There is nothing that necessarily precludes a "biblical literalist" from being a great candidate.
The issue hinges on whether that person is going to use their literalism to violate the liberties of others who don't espouse their views.
There is nothing that prevents an atheist or agnostic from falling prey to this temptation either.
As I said, "all things being
As I said, "all things being equal"...
Support freedom and liberty candidates in 2012... Ron Paul... Gary Johnson...
Too bad
I liked her, but this sounds nuts. I cannot support people who still continue to suck up to israel, as a matter of principle.
"that as a nation we have been blessed because of our relationship with Israel"
Blessed? I think she should say "robbed"!
Zionists bankers have stolen 25 TRILLION dollars from US taxpayers only in the past 18 months, and most people are not even aware.
Not to mention false flag terrorism carried out by the zionist state, like that little 'incident' back in 1967 where dozens of Americans where murdered by the IDF. Oops, that also 'didn't really happen' because the whole USS Liberty thing got covered up.
And who knows what else..
I would therefore argue that the United States most definately has NOT been blessed by this 'special relationship' with Israel, on the contrary.
Just my opinion of course.

This was on here last week. We appreciate her help but she's not fully on board is she?
