CPAC next week, what place will Ron get?

0 votes

As I'm sure most people here know, CPAC will have a straw poll during their conference to determine who their favorite candidates are. Ron tied with Palin last year for 3rd place. Will he improve upon that performance?

Also I was looking at the schedule and it looks like the Campaign for Liberty will have a huge presence at the conference. And of course Ron will give a speech. Hopefully there will be a ton of freedom-minded people there to represent us, but could anyone speculate on our numbers?

I'm going & I talked to C4L

I read that close to 1000 C4L folks were scheduled to attend. I don't know how that could be true. I called C4L (I had some other questions about the conference and got chatting briefly). I told the guy what I read, and he sounded surprised. About 1700 people voted last year.

Even if only 500 show up... we would finish strong... probably second. I do expect Mitt (forced to buy healthcare insurance in MA) Romney will be there.

for those who are students

Tickets are 10 dollars each. I am thinking of going.. Any suggestions to what to do in that city during spare time?

Well, to win the straw poll

Well, to win the straw poll you have to be organized/have the most supporters present... he probably won't win by convincing conference goers... And we have to assume the other candidates will be doing the same.

also, if I remember correctly

also, if I remember correctly from what I heard about last year's conference, the reason Ron Paul didn't place higher, was because not all Paul supporters who attended participated in the poll... apparently you have to pay an extra fee/higher ticket price to vote, and it's expensive.

Are tickets still available?

and is anyone from the dailypaul going to be there? I'd consider going

I'm sure the C4L will represent us well.

When Did Romney Switch To Being A Conservative?

I must have missed that. I see he's on the list of attendees, along with such stalwart conservatives as John Ashcroft, Newt Gingrich, and Liz Cheney.

Yeesh.

I think it has something to do

with their "Big Tent" idea, in which they'll accept anybody, no matter how bad, as long as they want perpetual war.

Sort of like McCain/Palin '08.

This is why they don't want to let RP win anything.
He's not a neocon cohort.

Prediction ...

1. Romney
2. Paul
3. Newt
4. Palin
5. Huckster
