Utah Senate asserts states' rights
The Utah Senate on Tuesday rebuked growing federal authority with a resolution asserting states' rights, and some senators arguing for the resolution called their counterparts in Washington "bullies."
The resolution, SCR3, merely states the Legislature's feelings on the federal-state split in duties, but supporters said it could send an important message for the federal government to back off if enough states follow their lead.
"It becomes quite significant if you have 40 or 50 other statements like that," the resolution's sponsor, Sen. Stuart Adams, R-Layton, said after a 40-minute debate led to a 23-3 vote. "I don't believe this is [just] a Utah issue."
It does, however, come amid a barrage of bills and resolutions -- 13 in all -- that the Utah Legislature is firing at Washington this year. Among them are bills to challenge federal regulation of guns, federal control of lands and federal imposition of health care rules. Adams' "state sovereignty" resolution wraps the sentiment into one non-binding message, and it passed with only three Democrats dissenting.

I applaud the Utah Senate for this but I am embarrassed about all the negative comments posted by my fellow Utahns.

Alex Jones video
A group of my political friends and I bought a copy of Alex Jones video The Fall of The Republic and we had copy's made and we passed them out to 65 member (2/3's) of the Utah House and Senate. (legislature)
Since the legislature is now challenging climate change and endorsing states rights I believe that the video is doing some good.
Have any of you readers done anything like this and (if
so) has it had any effect in your state?
This is Alex Jones best video (movie) so far.

negative comments are
negative comments are expected in the trib. The trib is a filthy liberal rag. I used to subscribe to it for the sunday comics and was so offended by the weekly opinion page that I cancelled my subscription.
Way to go Utah
How many states now have passed resolutions like this so far?
Ha, yeah, as far as comment sections on the internet go,
SL Tribune= bottom of the barrel. It's one big nasty flame war there.
It gives even YouTube a run for it's money.
It's about time...
I've been petitioning my Utah legislators for years now to make this declaration. I'm happy to see that they're finally coming around.
Needs more thumbs ups
By the way, has anyone seen the state flag postage stamps? I wonder if most people even know what their state flag looks like.
The comments are not from "fellow Utahn's" ...
Unless your "fellow Utahn's' get paid to comment on blogs. I have noticed that minutes after these articles are published...a flash of scripted comments are posted...then others that "support the prior comments". Then after a time the comments start to change and show a better "cross section" of the viewers.

This dropped off the page so fast that most did not see that Utah is trying to do something possitive.
