WHY MEDINA for TEXAS? My Response to the (R) Party of Texas

In your recent email to me you stated the following:
“ This election year promises to be a great one for Republicans all over Texas - so good that at last count, 53 Democrats had decided to switch parties and join the GOP. “

Am I led to believe that the Texas Republican Party is going to accept these Democrats into the Republican party?

I already know the answer that you will provide, so let me explain to you what this means.

1. That the Dems are using the Republican party to stay in office. You are being USED!

2. That we the people realize, if approved by the TRP, that the Party will no longer exist.

3. That the TRP values are the same as the Dems and the platform of the TRP is irrelevant.

If these Democrats feel so strongly about the direction that their party is going, then they need to stay as Dems and vote the way that a Republican would vote in order to change the direction of their own party. I am offended that the TRP would even consider welcoming these Democrats into the Republican party. There is a fundamental difference in the core values and beliefs of a Democrat that are in clear opposition to a functioning Republic and a Republican form of government.

You see, they believe that once elected, they will vote according to what they think is best and not the way the people direct them to vote. This is a core difference that cannot be reconciled in a Republic. In accordance with Article 1 Section 2 of the Texas Constitution, it states that “Texas stands pledged to the preservation of a “REPUBLICAN” form of government” it does not say a “Democratic” form of government. All power is derived from and at the direction of the “PEOPLE”. In a Democracy, the people elect a person and that person does what that person thinks is right. In a “Republic” the “representative”, who is elected by the people, does what the people in his/her district wants them to do. Do you really think that they will change their basic construct of representation simply because they changes their party affiliation? They won’t, and the Republican party will be worse off because of it. Sure, in numbers the Republican party will have a majority, but there will be no difference in the way votes are cast except that the Republican party will appear to move more left of center. Is this what “WE REPUBLICANS” want? The answer is a resounding “NO”. In 2012 are you going to tell us to vote up and down on the Republican ticket regardless of the actions of the RINO’s and the defecting Dems? Is it all about keeping the “R’s” as a majority even if the “R’s” vote like a “D”? Again, a resounding “NO”.

First, the TRP should publically say “NO” to these opportunistic “defectors”. By saying no, the TRP sends the message to the DRP to “Change” if they want to remain a viable political force in Texas. Second, it puts the current “RINO’s” on notice that their anti-republican actions will no longer be acceptable. Third, the TRP should be publically exposing both RINO’s and Dem’s for their failure to represent all people in their districts. Finally, the TRP can NEVER compromise on it’s fundamental core values of “Fiscal Conservatism” and “Liberty for ALL” platform. For too long now, the Republican party has allowed this “Scab” of democracy to be continually picked at. The continual picking of the “SCAB” has resulted in an infection that has run its full course through the body of the Republican Party.

The only way the infection can be cured is through a healthy dose of a prescription medication called “LIBERTY” and “ACCOUNTABILITY”.

There is a great sea of change emerging from the depths of the American soul. This change is welling up and manifesting itself presently as a moderate tidal flow. The failure of the TRP to ebb and flow with this tide or attempt to emplace levies, will result in a catastrophic tsunami the will cause the destruction of the party and its present structure. Until organizations like the TRP adhere to and enforce the platform of the Texas Republican party, the threat of destruction approaches as surely as the sun and moon do rise and set.
