I just saw RP at his debate against 3 challengers for the 14th district

It was great. The debate was held in Katy, TX, which is the hometown of one of his challengers, Tim Graney. I was expecting a good amount of RP fans to show up and create some noise for him, but I thought Tim Graney might be able to flood the venue with his local supporters and drown out RP. Well, it turns out that this was nothing to worry about.

RP's fans dominated the venue. Of the three challengers, Tim Graney was the main one on attack against Dr. Paul, and the crowd booed him loudly throughout. He seemed somewhat frustrated that he wasn't doing better even in his own backyard.

The other two didn't say anything worth mentioning. They basically repeated watered down versions of everything RP has been supporting all these years (adherence to the constitution, cutting spending, etc.)

Dr. Paul sounded as good as ever. He was sharp and articulate, and he was good at getting the crowd riled up. If there was any chance that RP was in danger of losing the 14th district, I think we would have seen more support for one of the challengers, but that clearly wasn't the case. I think he's gonna crush em.

The competition sounds like some weak tea

Loved the Debate

I really enjoyed watching my grandfather smash all competition at the most recent debate. I agree with much of what is already posted. Coming in a far second place would be John Gay (and I agree with the comment below that he was, indeed, a little preachy.)

Mr. Graney spoke mostly of his desire to send money to Israel, keep our interventionist foreign ways, etc. Horrible neo-conservate hack who is really quite proud of himself. Best line ever: I will not divulge who, but Graney was telling one of my family members about his new signs he had out. The response was, "yes I saw them. I can't believe you put your picture on it before losing 50 pounds and shaving that beard!"

Gerald Wall is an angry little man who better watch himself when he peers over at my grandfather. My mom had to restrain me because she knew I was about to lose it. I was very proud that I did not boo him at all. My grandfather wouldn't have ever done it, so I had to step up. (I am a little more emotional than my grandfather!)

RP crowd was awesome. The very best part of the debate was after it was over. The crowd made a line through the entire lobby of Katy Taylor High School to wait to shake hands, take pictures, and talk to my grandfather. Of course, he stayed there until everyone had been greeted. The funny part was watching Graney. After his three family members talked to him, he was just so lonely. He stood around looking nervous and then just started walking around watching the line talk to my grandad. I REALLY felt bad for him....but then I remembered his answers and didnt feel bad for too long.

Great event! Great people! Great support!

awesome

how awesome it must be to be decended from a true patriot. Do the family name proud!

Have nobody to claim decendency from of any note here, so I guess my future generations will have to point to Me as the "someone important" in the family line LOL.

That's just way cool, to be related to the man.

Beyond Cool....

First 12 minutes.

Here are the first 12 minutes of the debate. I cannot seem to find the rest. If anyone has a better link with the whole debate, please post away. In the meantime here is a 12 minute teaser.

I attended the debate, too.

Our guy mopped the floor with the others and it was clear to the others "who the boss is".

Our Meetup invited them all to come and speak plus Jeff Cherry who was challenging but is now running as a Democrat! We were so hard on him, I guess, that we must have flipped him to the other side! Anyhow, John Gay is the most sensible of the challengers and we could likely support him if Dr. Paul was not running. He is inexperienced, has never been involved in a precinct convention nor held any elected office. He was cordial, attended the meeting prior to the one we vetted him in, and appears to be a sincere individual. Graney made a few gaffes that earned him some boos which visibly shook him. He's a neo-con from top to bottom. Gerald Wall is simply a LOSER! He's loud, not very articulate, and stated early on that he "knows he can't win". He is also the only one too coward to come and address our Meetup.

Dr. Paul is STILL the "real deal" and we will be honored to have him as our rep, again.

Any word

on the other races debating? How did Joe Petronis do??

I was there too!

And like you, I was very relieved that there was such a good amount of support for Ron Paul! Tim Graney came off sounding petulant and you can always count on him saying some kind of supposed dig at him. Plus the faces he made whenever Ron Paul talked was just f'n childish! I loved the guy that yelled out "NEOCON" after Graney's first remark. lol. The other two guys were kind of interesting. One guy sounded like a caricature of a Texan so much so that I had a hard time following him. The other guy, Mr. Gay, sounded more realistic and if indeed I had to pick someone to take up the seat if Ron Paul wasn't willing to do it, I'd pick him, even though he was a bit preachy. Suffice it to say, Ron Paul knocked it out of the park, all the while he was visibly tired from travel. I loved his "We The People" response!

Dr. Paul had his faithful supporters there

And there were alot more there than I expected. Dr. Paul did fantastic as usual. He is a true gentleman through and through considering how two of the other candidates were throwing nasty remarks to him. He could have said something back to them but kept quiet and didn't say a word. I'm so proud of him and to say that he's our Congressman and will continue to be. I also liked the guy that yelled out "NEOCON". Dr. Paul, you are the greatest! Debra Medina had many, many supporters there with their Medina T-shirts on and signs. It was a great day for all of us.

So jeff cherry

didnt show up?

He is now....

a Democratic candidate for the 14th district.

Matt Pyeatt

I hope he can get a little rest now.

Thank you Dr. Paul for being you.

Ron Paul "Sign Wave Across the USA" -- November 5th!

I was looking for some poll numbers...

...for the 14th district. Had zero luck. Any ideas where I could find some?

No Public Numbers...

But I wouldn't worry too much about the numbers....

Matt Pyeatt

There was none as far as I can tell.

BTW, Tim Graney looked like a drunk to me. Bloated and red faced the whole time.

Ron Paul Debate

I was there as well and Ron had the crowd pumped. He was mobbed after the debate greeting people and for pictures. The other candidates hardly had any people around them. Another good note was that there was a lot of support for Debra Medina. Everyone I spoke with all felt that she was going to pull this off and end up in a runoff against Perry. The Neocon Republican power machine is doing everything it can to thwart her chances. Only 10 days to go!
