yep
weird
Freedom is NOT free!
I use those products everday. DMC Stratex and Altium.
Now I know who wrote them. I guess there isn't anyone to fix the remaining bugs with them. =)
It looks like he was an excellent embedded software developer - SNMP agents and most likely was an RF engineer also.
That's too bad he chose this way to go. He was a talented man.

I suspect that the contents of his older website have
been transcribed by someone. RISK processor? I think they must have seen RISC and thought it was spelled incorrectly. Reduced Instruction Set Computer.

I don't think Joe had an IRS problem
it seems he had a CIA problem that turned into an IRS problem, probably a smattering of FBI in there for good measure.
Just one last kick in the nuts, then a final deathblow
Why do you say CIA?

For those that do not see any significance
Why was it pulled, and why does Facebook not allow the link to that page to be posted?
"Some content in this message has been reported as abusive by Facebook users."
There is no significance...
in the project list. It's all mundane systems-level software development for mostly commercial and industrial usage.

Pretty impressive
Sounds like he worked on some high end projects.
Hmmm....
What I see in the list is he did some development on micro-code for several cpu's used by the private sector that are commercially available to you and I.
He did some low-level programming for some hard-drive and cd-rom drivers and firmware.
He did some simple network mail programming to allow some radios to report broadcast unit health over a network. (the scary sounding SNMP Agent). Boo! :D
He did some retail management software development for Time-Warners stores that sell Bugs Bunny stuff, etc.
Worked on some airplane control units based on the old Apple Mac processors for Hughes aircraft.
He was a team manager for Western Digital. They make hard drives.
He did some industrial control systems programming used to control manufacturing and industrial processes.
He did work on a "military plasma display", but then again a plasma display is just a television/monitor.
Nothing top-secret or uber-hitech going on here.
:p

a friend of mine whom i trust very much
lives in austin and works at a local restaurant.
it is frequented often by dear and very close friends of stack who have given MY friend info about him. they said that he never once talked to them about his anger or rage toward the irs and that his house and wife and child were awesome....that he'd NEVER do something like this to them.
my friend is very close to saying that he believes that this whole thing was set up.....another staged event to make the tea party, liberty movement,9/11 truth, yada yada.....all look like domestic terrorists.
i told him i didn't doubt it if that were to be found as the truth of this situation.....and that they people can go straight to hell in a hand basket.
interesting ???????
I found this >>>> Project: The Mileage Elephant (vehicle usage tracker)

That's not interesting....
Companies have had vehicle tracking systems for 30-40 years.
I helped develop a marine vessel tracking system with integrated satellite comms back in the early 90's.
The biggest tracking system in the world is the cellphone networks. They can track your cellphone realtime and have been able to do so for many years.
Old. Boring. Not "shocking" in any way.

Qualcomm
has been doing it for years on commercial trucks.Pull off on any off ramp at 3 AM and you will see the keyboards hanging out the windows so they can get a couple of hours of sleep from their dispatchers. What is really cool is that I can get on a computer at a desk anywhere in the world and track oil pressure,Operating temp, outside ambient temp,RPMs,Speed, and any other aspect of the vehicle.I can even track the three separate temp sensors in a refrigerated trailer. At any time I can set parameters to the ECM by satellite.I have had the honor of shutting down two trucks that had been jacked, because of liability this turned out to be a very sensitive operation. In all, location was a given at all times in real time.

Yup....
Really really common stuff especially for commercial fleets. Has been around for a couple decades. And nowdays it's becoming common for personal usage like GM's OnStar where they can control and monitor all kinds of things in your vehicle realtime.
No indication Stack was working on top-secret NWO or military stuffs.

Mirror projects
are not uncommon, just claim the funding is for civil reasons and request twice the funding?

Well...
Every few years they need to retool for new innovations like smaller, faster, lower-powered devices and new available comm links and/or to offer new functionality with more sophisticated software libraries and tools in order to compete with other companies new offerings.
I would think double charging for development would be more common for govt contracts.

its just interesting that it
its just interesting that it was a project that he worked on or was around. After all from what I gather, he did what he did because he felt cornered or bullied by big brother yet at the same time he is working on projects that would contribute to the cause that he himself was fighting against. Example: working at a gun factory and pressing for more gun laws.

Well...
Stack's big gripe in his letter is IRS code 1706. The IRS reclassified his consulting status and backcharged him for a huge amount of taxes over years and years.
Imagine if you got a letter from the IRS that said, "We've reclassified your tax status and you owe us $200,000 for the past 15 years of work". It would financially devastate most people.

seemed to be in that frame of mind back during the campaign.
He is now a whale here when it comes to selling freedom.
For that, I respect no one here more.

Not a suicide bomber, but one
Not a suicide bomber, but one of the first to use a 'vehicle' to disguise a bomb.
CNN and FOX have dropped the Stack story like it never existed, What's with that? Too many stories about Stack's software company and the spooks it kept as company?
Tomgram: Mike Davis on the History of the Car Bomb
On a warm September day in 1920, a few months after the arrest of his comrades Sacco and Vanzetti, a vengeful Italian anarchist named Mario Buda parked his horse-drawn wagon near the corner of Wall and Broad Streets, directly across from J. P. Morgan Company. He nonchalantly climbed down and disappeared, unnoticed, into the lunchtime crowd. A few blocks away, a startled postal worker found strange leaflets warning: "Free the Political Prisoners or it will be Sure Death for All of You!" They were signed: "American Anarchist Fighters." The bells of nearby Trinity Church began to toll at noon. When they stopped, the wagon -- packed with dynamite and iron slugs -- exploded in a fireball of shrapnel.
"The horse and wagon were blown to bits," writes Paul Avrich, the celebrated historian of American anarchism who uncovered the true story. "Glass showered down from office windows, and awnings twelve stories above the street burst into flames. People fled in terror as a great cloud of dust enveloped the area. In Morgan's offices, Thomas Joyce of the securities department fell dead on his desk amid a rubble of plaster and walls. Outside scores of bodies littered the streets."
Buda was undoubtedly disappointed when he learned that J.P. Morgan himself was not among the 40 dead and more than 200 wounded -- the great robber baron was away in Scotland at his hunting lodge. Nonetheless, a poor immigrant with some stolen dynamite, a pile of scrap metal, and an old horse had managed to bring unprecedented terror to the inner sanctum of American capitalism.

Next up on the terror agenda, IED's will start exploding in the USA and be blamed on disgruntled vets.
Gotta make that DHS report about right-wing crazies come true.

There seems to be more to this story than appears.
For an informed citizenry, individuals must discard the television set in favor of the acquisition of information via either books and/or the internet. An uneducated populous will remain in ignorance and thus continue to suffer the sharp ax of tyranny.

M as in Murder?
(and with the suicide note they could blame it on the Tea Party, how convenient)
p.s. I would also appreciate an explanation, just read "tracker" and went tin foil hat :-)
For those of us who aren't (yet) engineers and deal with this
stuff everyday, could you perhaps tell the world what this means in non-technical English?
How does the nature of the projects he was working on have any bearing on his suicide?
What implications do any of the particular clients apply to his behavior?
It looks like....
mostly systems-level device programming (making hardware talk to each other as opposed to user application development).
Nothing "shocking" in any way. Just boring device and network programming with some technical development team management and some responsibilities to communicate with non-technical management.

Systems level programmers are
Systems level programmers are hard to find. No wonder he wanted to be a freelance contractor.
I've...
I've worked in the industry for 18 years and I know many, many, many out of work systems-level developers. The majority of systems-level work has been moved to Asia. Cisco moved engineering and development almost lock-stock-and-barrel to Asia back around 2002.
My experience is about 30% systems-level in proprietary and UNIX and about 70% user application dev (mostly UNIX).
