I'm beginning to think Ron

I'm beginning to think Ron Paul does not want to be president. I think he just wants to wake people up to what is and is not Constitutional. And how many of the laws Congress passes do not follow the Constitution and the intent of our Founders.

How policies of both parties are harming our sovereignty and the future of our Republic.

He wants change, but not Obama's or the Neo Cons kind of change. He wants us to get back to limited federal government, limited spending, a balanced budget, a sound monetary system and a non interventionist foreign policy. I've heard him say numerous times that he does support a strong military defense. But does not support nation building.

He has also said that many of the responsibilities the federal government has taken on are best left to each individual state.

Now why would anyone be against that?

If Ron answered "Yes"

to the question 'are you going to run for President,' he would find himself pounced on by the competing candidates in his Congressional district. They would say 'Dr Paul is only using his constituents as a stepping stone to higher office or self-aggrandizement instead of spending his time and attention representing you. So vote for me!' He could find himself deeply tarnished by showing, at this point, ambition for the presidency instead of his congressional seat.

Also, there was a tradition early in the Republic, when we had statesmen for Presidents (Washington, Madison, Jefferson), when it was bad form to be too grasping for higher office. A statesman would, reluctantly, agree to stand for office as a solemn duty and honor (though in real life they were probably as ambitious as any politician today). It made them more credible as impartial leaders who intended only to do the right things for the country. I wonder if that is part of Ron's approach...

I think he should keep the world guessing until after the mid-term elections.

world guessing will he run?

Any politician who wants to run is now in a position to give Ron alot of respect. After winning the CPAC poll they have to know how many followers he has and his ability to generate campaign donations is legendary. He is in the Republican party, but he is not married to it. This gives him alot of political capital for his message of liberty and limited government. Not that I want it to happen, but a Ron Paul endorsement would be invaluable to any candidate of either party. Right now he is in a political sweet spot, perfect for getting his message out. IMHO

I see a big opportunity! Somebody call Ron Paul's office.

Ron Paul should take Carville up on the speaking opportunity in his class at Tulane. New Orleans is very much in the news these days, and Carville is a hometown "folk hero" down there. For him to openly invite Ron Paul to speak on Tulane's campus is just fantastic. With just a little promotion, this thing would turn in to the political session of the year. It would have a fantastic turnout, all the New Orleans media, and Louisiana, too. Even though Carville is a Democrat stategist, you can tell he respects Ron Paul, probably because Ron Paul bashes on the GOP as well. I think he would promote the speaking engagement to the hilt! This would further establish Ron Paul as the "BMOC" (Big Man of Campus).

To alan laney...

...couldn't agree more. Someone in Dr. Paul's office has got to follow up on this, it's a huge opportunity.

"If men, through fear, fraud, or mistake, should in terms renounce or give up any natural right, the eternal law of reason and the grand end of society would absolutely vacate such renounciation. The right to freedom being the gift of God....

It's a remidnder to all of us to reach out.

Remember only about 20% are hard core GOP and 20% are hard core Democrats. A majority are independents. As my dad says, they have to convince me that they have a candidate worth supporting. Those hard core politicians only care about beating the other team.

With a 60% majority the challenge is clear. There is work to be done.

1) King has always been

1) King has always been gracious to everyone I have seen him interview.

2) I wish the RNC had someone as EVIL as Carville and stupid as his wife.

3) They are going to attempt to divide the RNC and in the process they will divide the DNC as Dems are switching to the RNC to keep thier power, uh JOBS.

oh no!

Did you hear carville at the end there? He said they passed a "jobs bill"? When did that happen? I had heard them posturing about a "jobs bill", but I didn't think it would happen so fast.

How much is this one going to cost? I remember a clip of Daniel Hannan saying that when governments create jobs, they create "affirmative action awareness officers", and he had a whole list of hilariously ridiculous titles like that. How many unproductive make-work jobs are they going to create before anybody realizes that this whole thing is a scam to buy votes?

Donny Deutsch thinks we are all racists

Happened upon the Joy Behar show tonight and Donny Deutsch called all of the countless numbers of tea party activists both Republican and Democrat "racists" as he spelled out all of the core issues of Dr.Paul ... Wow!

Perhaps Donny is projecting?

Kinda like the government blamed Iraq for WMD, BioWeapon trailers and remote controlled drones UAVs, when we were the ones that had them all. The government projected on Iraq their own sins.

It seems that Donny is a racist as is evidenced by his playing of the race card. If he didn't think in his heart of hard hearts that it would be effective, then it would have never crossed his mind. Yet it did.

I do not see how he comes to this conclusion.

Free includes debt-free!

I just wish

he wanted to win.

Bill Bennett sounded angry

Bill Bennett sounded angry when he said, Ron Paul will not be the Republican presidential candidate in 2012. Bennett also said, I can guarantee it.

How can anyone guarantee what will or will not happen over two years from now?

Same reason McCain didn't have to care at the debates

Don't listen to what people say. Watch what they do.

The Machine in action!

George Carlin said it best with one of his monologue..."It's big club and you ain't in it".

Very good!

Larry King has always been polite to Ron. So I like seeing Ron in King's show a lot. And this victory in CPAC will bring more interviews to Ron which is of course fantastico!

reply

Wow the RNC is in full damage control mode, it was comical and embarrassing listening to Bill Bennett on AC, Carville called him on the carpet and the diss was aimed at the neo-cons at CPAC not Dr. Paul.

RPers, don't forget wht CNN is doing

All,
CNN is the communist news network. DNC chir last week said he was going to capitalize on the split GOP (established/tea party). THIS IS THE ONLY WAY DEMS COULD AND WOULD WIN, SPLIT GOP....

So, of course carville and king take it easy on Paul. They want to use this opportunity to split the GOP. Two Cents

Lot's of quotes come to mind...

I remember it was called Chicken Noodle News, by some.

My over inflated opinion of myself imagines that reminding CNN of that old moniker has driven them is some small measure to look in depth at some of the problems we face in depth, beyond the mere facade of personality politics. Regardless, I welcome that improvement.

During Clinton's re-election campaign it was Carville who reminded Bill, "It's the economy, stupid."

Is Carville really a "liberal conservative"? That is one who wants to protect and maintain individual autonomy.
http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?term=conservative

A servile conservative want to submit the individual to the service of the state. The individual is subject or literally thrown under the state.

The Constitution starts "We the people' or 'we as individuals' as inferred from the Declaration of Independence.

I have often been struck by Mr. Carville's independent streak and how partisan politics was a game he played well, but seemed chaffed by his successes.

Agreement on the diagnoses is a good first step. What is the prescription for prosperity? Could it begin with liberty?

is that why scott brown won

is that why scott brown won in massachussetts? the bigger divide is our entire country, from democrat to republican. conservative to liberal. this interview was good because there is a backlash from people like us here if it's not good. this will get more people on ron paul's side which in turn will get more people on the side of the issues ron paul talks about very frequently.

Is it my imagination or was

Is it my imagination or was Larry King, as usual, just plain patronizing to Ron Paul? He can't seem to bear the history lesson Paul interjects for the knowledge- starved audience and often the interviewer. Carville was a gentleman;however I thought they were still treating him as irrelevant but politely. They almost cast him as a country bumpkin doctor whose rise to international recognition stymies them all. THEY JUST DON'T GET IT!!!

Then later after Dr. Paul left, Carville seemed to take a swipe

at him or his supporters. He said "crazy people" voted for Dr. Paul at CPAC.

A.C.: "What does that vote tell you..."
J.C.: "...they got a lot of nutty people in it"

They re-ran the clip as a promo for more. ;-(

He DID hammer Blech too! ;-)

I saw that on AC180

...damn snake...I need to go and resend another email to Carville.

of that.

Carville was very cordial to

Carville was very cordial to RP and complimented him twice on his CPAC win. Not a bad interview but very tame.
