As a 34 year-old political junkie and avid historian, Dr. Paul connects to that feeling instilled in me the first time the story of the rEVOLution was read to me by my first grade teacher.

He is the only man, the ONLY political figure, who has both a spine and a respect for the Constitution.

I love your style of delivering one two punch statements always backing them up with proof while showing the glaring ignorance of those who can't, for the life of them, see the 'con' in the 'con'servative propaganda as compared with true conservativism of the rule of law when someone actually animates that for over 30 years!

It is mind boggling to witness such distinct status quo frauds as those who never mention the 'C' word that would signify their stand with the de jure government and continuous yammering on as though the Constitution does not even exist.

Now that sort of traitorous perversion deserves execution because it is in fact one of the most egregious threats of all time to our domestic and national security!

We are sick and tired of the GOP doing nothing differently than the democrats. Their ridiculous notion that the boosh-bailout was any different than the owebama-stimulus insults ones intelligence. The GOP does not like being 'busted' and they are lashing back.

But we, the Ron Paul people, keep on keep'n on and the CPAC vote is a victory for 'we the people'. Thank you my brothers and sisters for standing up for the constitution. God Bless America!

I would start listening to talk radio again.

I heard how when he was young he got upset at the Goldwater nomination NOT because Goldwater wasn't the best most conservative nominee, but because he was unelectable. But at least my father saw his conservatism for what it was.

Today, the man most like Goldwater...like Goldwater in nearly everything but perhaps abortion (which Goldwater I believe took the big govt positition) is definitely Ron Paul. There is no question about it. The least conservatives can do today is admit that...attack him for being unelectable, attack him because he is too conservative...but don't throw out this "libertarian" label as if that somehow isn't compatible with conservative.

It's scary to think so-called conservatives really want the likes of Cheney and Mitt Rommney in office because they are are so pumped up fight wars to prove how America should be #1 in the world--Even if it breaks financially to do so.

Whereas Ron Paul fall under the category of "Blessed is the Peacemakers"

I don't see how Dr Paul stomached it being there with all the neocons.

I have to admit I always used to leave out Jack's blogposts when browsing through the Daily Paul, but a few weeks ago I tried one of them (about Palin I think) and became immediatelly hooked. This guy has some real talent there and I think he's growing into a major conservative commentator - a real one, unlike partisan hacks like Limbaugh and Hannity or a rodeo clown like Beck. Maybe he's gonna be the next George Will (have you seen his speech at CPAC? You just HAVE to see it.)

I suggest the term "liberal conservative". Since all real problems involve solving a paradox, something a computer cannot do (that does not compute) it is something an individual can find meaningful.

A "liberal" in the strictest sense is an individual who strives for autonomy: physical, psychological, imaginative, intellectual, economic and historical.

"Conservative" is to serve together or to maintain with others. But what is protected and maintained?

The autonomy of the individual must reject collectivism and its required abandonment of personal freedom. We serve with others not as a collective or movement but as individuals. We have spokesman not leaders per se.

Conservatism challenges individuals to a duty to work together with others. How is autonomy preserved when faced with a common duty?

The title "liberal conservative" makes clear that autonomy and duty are compatible in the very individual act of volunteering for some duty.

I would contrast his with "servile conservatives". Leonid Brezhnev was such a man. He wanted to work together with others in the Soviet sphere to project the notion that a person's service to the state is the highest good. Baaaah baaah baah or other party propaganda is all one needs to repeat.

It is not enough to work together to maintain and protect some good, but what good is worthy of one's effort. Autonomous individuals serving together to protect and maintain autonomy is the core of any worthy conservatism

Jack needs to go national....it's "our" time now......
