'Tea Party' Candidate Scott Brown Joins Democratic Majority - Votes for Jobs Bill
Is anybody surprised at this???? I'm not surprised, but nonetheless, I am very angry! Oh, if only Joe Kennedy could have been voted in...
WASHINGTON, Feb 22 (Reuters) - A modest job-creation bill advanced in the U.S. Senate on Monday as the chamber's newest Republican bucked his party and sided with Democrats on a $15 billion package of tax cuts and highway spending.
Republican Scott Brown joined four other Republicans, 55 Democrats and two independents to overcome a procedural hurdle that sets up a final vote later this week.
Brown was widely hailed as a conservative hero after his surprise victory in Massachusetts last month gave Republicans enough seats to block most Democratic legislation.

An example of "lesser of the evil" politics.
Should prove-up the need to "scrutinize" candidites who we support and contribute too. If we don't, we'll be infiltrated and ruined. There is only one truth.
Discover Costa Rica
He just committed political suicide, IMO
If he rolls over for the health bill, Mass citizens should have him recalled.
Don't blame me...
I supported Joe Kennedy (and I listened to Scott Brown make a jackass of himself at the debates; no surprise here).
Making a fool of himself
Just a few days ago, after he was sworn in, he said we have to cut spending and taxes. Then he voted for a $15B spending bill. Fools and their votes!!!!!
Someone correct me if I'm wrong-
I thought the "Gas Tax" was suppose to be used to maintain infrastructure of our highways? Where is ALL that money being spent? Why aren't they talking about the Patriot Act thrown in this bill?
they raided the highway fund along time ago
There are no seperate accounts at the federal government anymore. All funds including social security and the highway fund are rolled into the budget and spent. Sort of like raiding your retirment account in your personal life to buy a new car. But they don't ever plan to pay it back.
Funny part is they have off budget items they spend money on...but anything that is income automatically gets rolled into the budget for that year. Nothing is saved because they are getting paid to generate debt right now.
LOL times twenty thousand.
LOL times twenty thousand.
And people laugh at me when i say that voting is meaningless.
Very little Tea Party action
Very little Tea Party action in Mass. The meat of his campaign was the last 30 days after the Dems settled their primary. In gross numbers, he made more people happy today than upset here in Mass, believe it or not, and he did so because he has to defend his seat in just 2 years.
The first 5 million supporters of Dr. Paul are 'early adopters.' The next 10 million will require a modified approach.
While it may be true that "Tea Party" people helped him win...
...
Brown proves himslef to be no friend to conservatives or small govt.
As with the Brown race, below
As with the Brown race, below story comes to mind often these days. It's an old story told in various cultures around the world. You may have seen it with slight variations but its moral lessons are the same.

Brown is a Senator, and he
Brown is a Senator, and he views his job as getting everything he can for his supporters. This he did.
Support freedom and liberty candidates in 2012... Ron Paul... Gary Johnson...
Another case of the American
Another case of the American people getting the government they deserve: one fit for a country full of apathetic, self-absorbed morons.

I suspect most who supported
I suspect most who supported him knew he was a fraud. Perhaps chance to put the Kennedy curse behind them had more to do with it.

No surprises
here. I know some people who are going to be thinking I am psycic. They thought I was such a moron for not being excited about that one. Hate to say I told them so. I bet we will see more of this too.
this must be spread to neo
this must be spread to neo con groups. on facebook, 9-12 etc.
Didn't take him long to show
Didn't take him long to show his true colors, did it? But what can we expect from a McCain endorsed candidate.
He should be referred to as the candidate of the "Neo Con Tea Party." Because the real Tea Party would have nothing to do with him.
It's a shame that so many voters are still being snookered by fast and slick talking politicians, media pundits and talking heads.
Voters need to wise up and start voting for the candidates the media bad mouths. If they did Ron Paul would be a shoe in for our next President. lol
Gee whiz,
you left out the best part!
Brown said the bill was not perfect but would help put people back to work.
"I hope my vote today is a strong step toward restoring bipartisanship in Washington," he said in a statement.
The bill includes a tax credit for businesses that hire unemployed workers, subsidies for state and local construction bonds and $19.5 billion to shore up a highway-construction fund.
Much of the cost is offset by a crackdown on offshore tax shelters.

"...a step towards bipartisanship". Read:
one party agenda at the top.
Those who voted for him got exactly what they voted for: a fraud as usual.
Unless the candidate 'animates' the spirit of the law and earnestly holds that dear to their hearts and makes that clear where he stands, then it is fair to assume that the candidate has absolutely no intentions of upholding and defending the Constitution.
And if that is NOT part of their platform why should ANYBODY vote for them since it would go AGAINST their own self interests. If they don't stand for the rule of law, they most certainly DON'T represent the protection of the people's sovereign rights. That is what true representation is in the United States of America. It is in no ways ambiguous.
Dr.Paul truly represents 'the people' because he consults the Constitution and he allows the Constitution to be his guide to the point that it is unconscious with him over all these years.
Well people, are you ready to get on board with the Articles of Freedom yet or do you still need to be continuously ripped off even more?
I'm shaking my head and trying to be patient because I wonder what more proof do you need that its up to us, the people, in critical mass numbers, to assert our sovereignty through the principle of our voting and by placing the entire bicameral system on notice via the AoF?
I guess
we're really out of campaign mode now!!!
How much money is Massachusetts receiving in this sweetheart deal?

Try a big shot of how has Scott Brown screwed his constituents lately. Sure to make you vomit or crap, hopefully one and not both especially at the same time.
Take Scott Brown with care as it sometimes gives one a good feeling at first then a really bad case of the runs.
Just one last kick in the nuts, then a final deathblow
I'm shocked! Absolutely shocked!
(not)
How is that feeling tere in Mass Michael
bet you could bite a nail in two.
Just one last kick in the nuts, then a final deathblow

You were shocked at least a little bit

I'm honored...
Okay, I had to come out and say this. As a longtime member (lurking without posting for quite a while), I am honored that both Michael and Daddy WarBucks commented on my little forum. Thanks fellas! I've enjoyed reading (and learning!) from everything posted on the DP since its inception. I'm awake, roused from a zombie's slumber, and helping to educate others in my small corner of the world!
And I must say, not much shocks me anymore our current political arena - ha!
