I think everyone who votes is despicable
Submitted by TxRedneck on Tue, 02/23/2010 - 23:58Despicable: so worthless or obnoxious as to rouse moral indignation
You are incompetent to represent yourself, so you elect someone who will represent you. You do not know the Law, therefore the Law does not know you. You are instead governed by Statutes, Equity; and you require someone who IS competent to represent you. The individual you chose to represent you DOES NOT EVEN KNOW YOU, but you are too incompetent to realize the lunacy of having someone represent you that doesn't have a clue about you. Your representative appears to believe that you desire to steal from you neighbor for your own benefit. And why shouldn't he believe such, HE HAS PROBABLY NEVER MET YOU, HE DOES NOT KNOW YOU FROM BARACK OBAMA. You call him on the phone or write him a letter to tell him how you want to be represented, BUT YOU HAVE NO PROOF THAT YOU CHOSE HIM TO REPRESENT YOU.
In chosing someone to represent you, you consent to be governed by your REPRESENTAVIVES decisions, not YOUR decisions. But you do not know the LAW, you do not think you have CONSENTED. You have been slothful in seeking the knowledge that keeps Man free, the LAW, therefore you must have someone else represent you in the LAW. And since you do not know the LAW, your representative USES THE LAW to make a slave out of you for his benefit. Your incompetence in the LAW overshadows the reality that you created your own prison, and THAT is despicable.
Now go VOTE for the "Right Guy".
"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. Hosea 4:6
"Those people who will not be governed by God will be ruled by tyrants" --William Penn
"And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven." Matthew 23:9
You let the Slavemaster educate you, and therefore you are a Slave. You go to their Churches, and therefore you do not understand the Bible, which IS the LAW that keeps Man FREE. It tells you to GIVE NO CONSENT to them, but you are to imcompetent to understand HOW YOU CONSENT.
The introduction to John Wycliffe's translated 1382 Bible, "This Bible is for the Government of the People, by the People, and for the People."
Again, "Those people who will not be governed by God will be ruled by tyrants" --William Penn

Why? That would be voting too
Why? That would be voting too for more democracy. To bad your pathetic attempt to try and associate this with someone like him is well.. Pathetic.
Typical can't argue the issue so try and associate it with something else totally unrelated to discredit it.
Maybe some of you ought to read what the founding fathers had to say about democracy and why they set up a republic instead.

Voting is an "abidcation" of self-defense
----by definition
----by logic
----by mathematics
#1 You "lobby" to coral or buy a politician
#2 You "check" to make sure his ideals line up
#3 You cut checks -- to buy his vote (or quality of vote)
#4 You then go to the corporatist ballot box and "vote"
For "indvidualists" a vote is thus; "take my 'power and right' to self-defense, collectivize it with the power of our lobby, and then go get our right to self-rule (self-defense) back."
You can't cure Corporatism with Corporatist Tools
Corporatism = Voting + Lobbying + Theft + Consumptive Choices
Free-Markets = Consumptive Choices + Voluntary Associations
*&^ Constitution --- Constitutional Rationality
Interesting thought: voting is self-defense

In the original post you'll
In the original post you'll read, "BUT YOU HAVE NO PROOF THAT YOU CHOSE HIM TO REPRESENT YOU."
If you've read Spooner then you should recognize that this is a part of Spooners beliefs, indeed it is from Spooner.
IF you were to search the post that I have created in the past you would find that I have posted, over a year ago, and encouraged the reading of Spooner's "Constitution of no Authority":
http://www.dailypaul.com/node/83806
Although I can understand clearly Spooner's reasoning, I disagree with his idea that voting cannot be consent. In Spooner's day one had to BECOME A US CITIZEN in order to vote, and US Citizenship was voluntary, and still is. Citizenship IS GIVING ALLEGIANCE, and giving allegiance IS consent. There is only a need to have representation within a Governement that has Jurisdiction over you. If you have not consented to its Jurisdiction, then it has no Authority over you. Therefore if it has no Jurisdiction over you, you have no need for representation within it.
YOU CAN THROW OFF ITS JURISDICTION. When you do this, one of the things you will lose is the "right" to vote within that system. You will lose this right for the same reason that you have no right to vote in other Governments that are FOREIGN to you, because you are not a part of those Governments.
------------------------------
Spooner did not argue that Voting was self defense, he wrote that SOME PEOPLE MAY SEE IT AS SELF DEFENSE. He argued that voting was NOT consent, and one of the reasons he gave for such was that some may vote as a means of self defense, not because they consented. His main argument was about consent. But the bottom line is that people vote out of ignorance; if they do not consent to this government, they should circumcise themselves from it instead of participate within it.

It's bullshit to believe that voting implies consent.
It is simply one tool, AMONG MANY, that has potential practical value to individuals who are moral and seek liberty, peace and prosperity.
Honestly, decent people who engage in this process should not be attacked for no good reason. Chill out and do your thing and lead by positive example.

Then go back down to your Momma's basement
and wait for the world to end. We will fight the battle for you. The beast can't be slain overnight, and without the ballot box, what voice do you have? We may not get all our liberty candidates in there, but maybe one or two at a time will help awaken the sleepers.
What action are you proposing? Just stop voting until the system rights itself?
One of the reasons we are in the shape we are in now is because fragile people such as yourself have gone internal.
GET OFF YOUR @ss AND GET OUT THE VOTE!!!
Excuse me but the founders
Excuse me but the founders did not set up a democracy they set up a republic IF YOU CAN KEEP IT MAAM...
What battle is it you are fighting you have been conquered already by socialist democracy and led to believe you have a voice by casting a vote in said socialists democracy even though you have none and that purported voice you have been indoctrinated in thier re-education camps to believe you have is used against you as a tool of oppression for that is what democracy is just a tool for the majority to oppress the minority by vote. However the vote you think you even have is fake it's an illusion to make you feel like you have a voice. A voice in what? Why in democracy which is evil.
So how has voting been working out for you? Lets see in the last 150 years we went from a free republic to a socialist military commercial oligarchy, And while everyone is running around playing socialist democracy and trying to get the 51% on thier side so they can rule over the other 49% for a four year period they have been stealing your wealth, poisoning your food water and air, using you for bizarre experiments, poisoning you with vaccines to stimulate the pharmaceutical and medical markets, sending you and your children off to die or be maimed in bogus wars etc. etc.
It has been said government just powers are derived from the consent of the governed. Well I for one withdraw my consent for a government of tyranny is no government at all!

No not like democracy as in
No not like democracy as in majority rule. In a true free republic a majority cannot over rule a minority by out voting them that is the simple and powerful difference that prevents oppression.
Look at it like this a group of kings get together to decide how they will deal with each other justly adopt a law form etc They hold a vote on something and one of one kings votes nay and the rest yeah, they cannot force anything on the king who votes nay.
So they are forced to work it out until the nay is overcome and withdrawn, or if it can't be overcome those who desire to do it anyway, then it must be voluntary and is not binding on the body politic.
It is really a very simple method that works quite well but after several generations of democracy indoctrination people have a hard time rapping thier mind around it.

Democracy or Republic, it
Democracy or Republic, it does not matter. The real issue is the System of LAW, and that people consent to this system. The system of Law that this country was founded upon was Common Law, also know as English Law.
"For abolishing the free system of English Laws in a neighbouring Province, establishing therein an Arbitrary government, and enlarging its Boundaries so as to render it at once an example and fit instrument for introducing the same absolute rule into these Colonies"
Declaration of Independence
The system of Law we have now is not Law, it is a contract, Statutes. It is the same as credit card, the US Code being the "Terms of Agreement". If you consent to be a US Citizen, then you are consenting to the Contract and to abide in the "Terms of Agreement", the Codes. As such, when you go into a Court of "Law", you are in a Courty of Equity where they practice Law of Equity, Contracts. And thus if you are a Juror you will be instructed that, "you are not here to decide upon the Law but only upon the facts of the case". And the reason is because the Law is not Law but it is instead a Contract, and jurors do not have the ability to decide upon the contract because that would be equilent to altering the contract. A judge may decide that the Contract itself violates the Law, and that is what the Supreme Court does. But virtually anything can be put into contracts, save murder, rape and such, and it is lawful. One can even contract oneself into slavery if it is done voluntarily. And the Contract, the Statutes/Codes, are available to everyone so no one can claim that they were deceived into the contract. The judge knows well that all that is needed to understand is available to the person that seeks it. The Judge also knows that those who are lazy, slothful, in seeking knowledge WILL be under tribute.
But in the Court of Common Law things are far different. The Jury is instructed that they are there not only to decide upon the facts of the Case, but also to decide upon the Law. In fact, the Jury of 12 can actually create Law, instead of the Judges and Congress. And since the Jury can decide upon the Law, it does not matter what laws congress passes. The Defendent can argue openly that the LAW is unjust, and if only ONE juror agrees then that Law that Congress legislated is then null. In the Court of Common Law, "Nothing that we propose can pass into law without your consent. Be yourself, O Americans, the authors of those laws on which your happiness depends." (Samuel Adams, on August 1, 1770)
Under the Original Constitution the people WERE the Lawmakers, Congress only proposed Laws to the people, if even that. But the Constitution has been Amended, and a different Citizenship created. And THOSE new citizens are not under the Organic Constitution. Instead they are a under the AMENDMENT that Created this new Citizen. And this new Citizenship is VOLUNTARY even unto today. In the NEW system people chose a REPRESENTATIVE who is not bound in any way to represent them. And per the Amendment that created this new citizenship, Congress has the Athority to Legislate FOR the people and the US Citizen is BOUND to that legislation. And there is nothing in the NEW COVENANT about Natural Rights or a Bill of Rights. And whether intent of the Amendment is being violated is of no relevence because the people continue to CONSENT to US Citizenship even as it is currently being interpretted. It is the CONSENT that gives it validity.
People continue to VOTE and elect representative that represent no one, and they continue to maintain US Citizenship. THIS is consent, and THAT gives it validity.

It does matter it depends on
It does matter it depends on how it is set up with a truly free republic there is no voting on rights.
A simple free republic could look something like this. The Law form is natural law i.e. You oppress no one, don't lie, steal, cheat, plunder, murder, etc. Don't violate anyone's rights or harm anyone except in self defense etc. and your good to go. There is no crime unless there is an injured or damaged man or women.
An assembly or council is set up with your neighbours to protect and preserve your rights, The do not pass new laws since they already agreed to the law form, they simply protect rights, and discuss affairs that might affect them and thier area. If they wish to implement something they can vote on it but it is not a democratic vote it has to be unanimous and if anyone objects then the objection must be overcome and voluntarily withdrawn by the one who made it before moving forward. The one who objects has to present a remedy also. That way people aren't just objecting to to complain or get their way, or for spite, or for no good reason.
What would they vote on if they can't pass laws? They might want to appoint a Judge or arbitrators to help settle disputes. A judge a clerk, the judges decision would have to be approved by at least a quorum of 24 from the council or assembly. And of course the dispute would have to be brought voluntarily by those in it. They might want to decide on how to deal with theft or crime that is occuring and appoint some rangers to keep the peace if there is some problems in their area. They might want to decide to join in with another council or assembly from another area to handle a mutual crime problem. In that case your local council might appoint a spokesman for the assembly not a representative but someone who conveys the assembly's will in the matter
Everyone who is able and willing is a ranger and appointed one by his neighbours etc. Some of these rangers can be appointed by the assembly to carry out the Judges process.
This is very similar to how the farmers who created this nation operated and the ancient Celts who lived a thousand years in peace operated. This structure is a true free republic.
Of course many scenarios can be brought up and that is what the assembly or council is for on how to deal with them.
It's pretty simple and has worked even in modern times. Maximum freedom, mutual cooperation, and voluntary association to protect that freedom.
If I could find 30 people/families willing to work together using this type structure I would set up a self sufficient community on a county, and I know how to keep the democracy at bay using it. Problem is I don't think there are enough people willing to work together in the same county or move to the same county and do it.

Not consent.
Lysander Spooner
http://praxeology.net/LS-NT-2.htm#no.2
NT.2.1.12
The consent, therefore, that has been given, whether by individuals, or by the States, has been, at most, only a consent for the time being; not an engagement for the future. In truth, in the case of individuals, their actual voting is not to be taken as proof of consent, even for the time being.

What if, by voting, you were
What if, by voting, you were actually participating in rebellion?
A.I.M.
Instead of accepting a political moniker, we should form a new movement called AIM for “Anti-Incumbent Movement.” Our sole purpose is to vote against incumbents of all parties, with the only excepting being a candidate who has remained true to his/her oath to defend the Constitution, in the manner of Ron Paul. This movement will be the populous version of term limits.
This anti-incumbent stance will avoid any polemic with regard to where we stand on the myriads of hot-button issues that cause divisions in movements over time. Once we are more than 10% of the electorate, no seat will be a “safe” seat. Every time an incumbent loses his or her seat, we will take the credit. We will become the most powerful force in the political arena.
Our disruptive potential will give us far more power than we could ever obtain as another political faction with loyalties to certain prescribed ideals, which can easily be marginalized in the mainstream media.
The only thing the media can pin on us is that we are spoilers. The true spoilers of freedom are in Washington, but we’ll wear the spoiler label with pride. We are here to spoil the party for those who think, once elected they can betray the electorate because there are no consequences for such treason.
At the margin, the NRA matters. At the margin, the religious right matters. At the margin, trade unions matters, etc. Politicians have perfected the art of kowtowing to special interests and of sucking them into their campaigns. Well, you can’t kowtow to an anti-incumbent. The anti-incumbent wants you to go home and live under the laws you have passed.
We don’t need to raise money. We don’t need to run candidates. We just need a register of people pledged to vote anti-incumbent, unless the movement has identified the incumbent as Ron Paul, Rand Paul, Debra Medina, etc, a handful of true We the People candidates.
People identify themselves as independent to pollsters. We will identify ourselves as anti-incumbents, the populous version of term limits and reaction to everything that is wrong with the entrenched and corrupt culture in Washington. Every two years we’ll have an opportunity to demonstrate our strength. After a decade, we will be recognized as the most powerful disruptive force on the political landscape. You vote against the Constitution at your own peril. You can be pro-life, pro-gun, pro- whatever, but you vote for unconstitutional wars or unbalanced budgets and you are toast.

I agree with the point you
I agree with the point you made. I would like to just govern myself and no one else govern myself for me. I wish it were that way but unfortunately it is not and if I can vote for someone who would leave me alone and mind their own business and be an example in that way of thinking for other people who run for office then I think eventually we can get back to a nation of complete freedom for the individual.
I voted for Ron Paul in the Primary election but I did not vote for anyone in the General election.
