Lets stay on course!
Vote Medina!

If Alex were truly behind Debra,
he could hardly do better for her than what he is doing right now. Many of us wondered just how damaging GB's "truther" charge would be and the most recent PPP survey puts some actual numbers to it.
Belief or suspicion that Debra thinks the government was complicit in the 9/11 attacks equates to a very low Medina vote percentage (7%). This may not keep her out of the runoff but would be a certain millstone around her neck in a runoff with Perry. It is vital to her chances that she convince the 26% of doubters that she does not hold such beliefs.
Texas with Medina at the helm could be the spark that ignites the states' rights brushfire in America. How important is that compared to undoing the Gordian knot of 9/11 truth? I admit both are important but Debra is poised to accomplish the first, not the second. Indeed, by her own words and actions all along she has shown no interest in tackling the second.

Response to peaceplace's comment below:
["If she wants us to be behind her...she MUST be behind us !!!"]
I completely disagree with you peaceplace and anyone else that feels the same way as you.
I may not agree with what you have to say but I will defend to the death your right to say it. (Hall-Voltair)
The fact that she is willing to risk her entire campaign to argue for your right to have your questions answered by your government should be enough and if it is not you can get ready for every single candidate to shut off all comment on this issue. The way you are treating her now is sending a message to every prospective candidate that your cause is more liability than it's worth.
Lucky for us that we have candidates willing to stand up for the right of the minority opinion to be spoken for it is by that action that you have the ability to win the public over to the rightness of your cause. Consider that in your calculation on who has betrayed and who is being betrayed.

I respectfully disagree
Some of us are inevitably going to feel that a candidate must support us in order for us to support them. It's futile for the supporters of a candidate to try and pressure, cajole, or belittle others into supporting someone who doesn't meet their personal standards.
You wrote: The fact that she is willing to risk her entire campaign to argue for your right to have your questions answered by your government should be enough and if it is not you can get ready for every single candidate to shut off all comment on this issue.
Our grievance is very specific about how she handled things. She did not really argue for our right to have questions answered, she said there are some good questions, and the next day she was willing to attack the questioners. She caved to pressure. The message prospective candidates ought to take from our reaction to Medina's behavior is, "Please be clear and stay the course on all issues. Don't stigmatize your supporters just to advance your political career." The message is not, "Unless you are a truther, we will sabotage your campaign." Because truthers have been willing to support many candidates who aren't actively shedding a light on the myths of 9-11. However, we won't necessarily put up with personal attacks on our character or listen to people who say we should put up with outrageous insults. Candidates are not more important than anyone else, they don't get special privileges to knife us in the back with impunity.
We are upholding a standard.
Everyone should be as interested in having a REAL investigation of 9-11 as the truthers are. The writers of the 9-11 Commissin Report wrote an entire book about being stonewalled. So we all have been told that the real story is still being covered-up. As 9-11 shaped our ruinous foreign policy, which is ruining our economy, everyone ought to be demanding the truth, including all candidates for office. Whether it's a minority or a majority pushing for that investigation is immaterial- a candidate with integrity will naturally advance the cause of truth.
The most rational statement
made on this issue,You are absolutely right sir,who is next?

How I explained it to a friend
Not that I expect anyone here to understand or agree, but I already had it written to someone that I think will understand, so I will share it here:
You are tougher than me, I guess. I don't feel the need to keep taking a beating for a lost cause. My husband gets pulled over about every other week now, Monday night it was a $75 dollar ticket for not stopping at a stop sign that he stopped at. Local cops have REFUSED to install dash cams, so it will be he said versus he said, but Mark is going to blow a vacation day to fight it, knowing he will lose because the judge and cop are co-conspirators, but he has to fight the battle that came to him. But I am not going out looking for any more fights. I don't know anyone well enough to "support" them as a candidate, I have come to realize. I don't know what happens, but at some point they ALL turn into liars and protectors of the elite, and now the small band of folks who were waking up are meekly following the newest and freshest brand of liar - "The Paytriot Movement!" I know I made assumptions that Ron Paul had been threatened, but I have never heard anyone actually back that up. Ron Paul is clearly on the record saying if people care about him, they will not ask questions about 9-11. I made the mistake of NOT believing that, of CHOOSING to believe what I wanted to believe. I know better than that. I am not "faithful" I endeavor to be factful. Medina's comments finally made me ask the question I forgot to ask way back when: WHAT IF he means exactly what he said? If he is MOSTLY an honest man, and only lies if he has too, how am I to know when he "has" to? In general, I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, that they are saying what they mean. Why did I NOT do that for Ron Paul? I WANTED him to be a truther. And yet, in the face of all the outspoken truthers who support him, he only says "I don't want your support."
I keep hearing the "to win the election" excuse. Well, Ron won his Congressional election in 2008, and lost the Presidential bid. So is it winning or losing one that will finally make him defend truth? Clearly, neither. He has the NEXT election to win, so he will stick with the lie that won him his last election.
You are correct that I cannot become one of them, though. It is simply not my nature. I CAN stop deluding myself about who "the good guys" are in politics. There are none. I don't know when or how Adam will finally sell out, but I fully expect he will do so or lose. It is THEIR dog and pony show, and they ALWAYS win. It is odd to have this silly hope that he wins to prove you do not have to truther bash to win and at the same time trying to stamp out any hope at all before he gets around to stomping on it for me.
Now, if you will come see Ron Paul I would LOVE to play hostess still, but I cannot promise I will go see him with you. Unless HE has a big change of heart between now and then, he gets not one dime from me, just like the other liars.
Oh, the local Chair, the one that I helped to seat, is so sold out our committee is falling apart. We had 6 out of 7 positions held by "Ron Paul" people. 2 of us have resigned, one is staying on only to spite John, and even the non-RP guy is now calling John out on his back room dirty deals. Meanwhile, John defends it all saying he got to tell the Governor about a video... Yeah, John, the Governor just doesn't KNOW about the banksters... and all it took was for you to throw him a big fundraiser. Several of us refused to participate at all, it was never voted on or approved to even happen. Now he can't get a quorum to approve disbursing the funds... :)
Oh, and this Gov is a guy who USED to be a real libertarian. Then he married a little Illuminati bitch who leads him everywhere by his pecker... all the while smiling so demurely and walking just a bit behind her husband... I mean unless John is ready to start blowing the Gov, none of John's videos are going to overrule Lori telling Butch what to do - lol!
We are half way through our "Show me the note" time for them to reply. I started over 150 seeds for the garden, and I don't even know where I will be planting them... I am going to build cold frames and try to get them in the ground WAY early. I have a south facing, terraced slope that I think will work - if I get to keep it! I used to hate living in limbo, but this time I am strangely OK with it. I have reached the "fucking bring it" stage. I will declare bankruptcy, I will let the declare all the judgments in the world against me, but if they cannot prove that I owe them money and that they actually hold the title they say I owe them money for, it is on. They can have it all, it is just stuff. Even the garden - I can grow another one next year. In pots on my flatbed trailer if I have to. It will be adorable next to the fucking chicken coop!
I am supposed to get my chicks today, but I am still not sure... This guy is the worst for communicating, but if I get my chicks that is all that matters. I think that will get me busy enough and entertained enough to stop fuming. One DPer sent me a couple notes trying to be the eternal optimist cheerleader... he can't seem to accept that I am done. There is not anything in me that can even pretend to support truther bashers at this point. They are bashing the family members of people who were murdered, and the DYING rescue workers who were the true heroes that day, and who have very reasonable questions. That is not an honorable thing to do, even for votes.
Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.
>at some point they ALL turn
>at some point they ALL turn into liars and protectors of the elite, and now the small band of folks who were waking up are meekly following the newest and freshest brand of liar - "The Paytriot Movement!"<
Yeah, many PAYtriots on DP have as much "spine" as Debra has. Political expediency has more value for them than integrity and truth.
Anyway Debra would not be good governor because she can't lie in convincing manner.
She is not smart politician.
She committed political suicide by agreeing that questioning official government version of 911 was despicable act.
Anybody who support liberty should not support lies.
Lies rob others of their freedom to choose rationally.
When my lie leads people to decide other than they would had they known the truth, I have harmed their human dignity and autonomy.
guess it's me the optimist cheerleader
just fed some pigeons and I am still the optimist who will never stop working for real change no matter what is going on around me...

"How can we justify to the unemployed and underemployed in the United States the incredible cost of maintaining a global empire?" - Dr. Ron Paul
Just one thing
You wrote, "Why did I NOT do that for Ron Paul? I WANTED him to be a truther. And yet, in the face of all the outspoken truthers who support him, he only says "I don't want your support."
During his presidential campaign, people would show up at events that were specifically intended as Ron Paul rallies wearing shirts and carrying big signs that said, "9-11 was an Inside Job." As far as I'm concerned, that was useless and detrimental to the cause. You aren't going to persuade anyone that 9-11 was an inside job just by wearing a shirt or shouting slogans. But you ARE going to make things hard for Ron Paul.
RP said, "If they cared about me, they wouldn't do that."
Frankly, I agree with him that some truthers were being disrespectful and thoughtless. I don't know if he is still desirous of having people keep potentially scandalous, skeptical-of-official-story 9-11 discussions separate and outside of political forums like this one. He hasn't said anything about it, that I know of.
He did have Jesse Ventura at the Rally for the Republic and seconded what Jesse said about bin Laden never being indicted. I think RP is agreeable to intelligent discussions of 9-11 but wants to stay away from aggressive, in-your-face truthers who shout sound bites and shock people, but don't educate. That kind of behavior isn't pleasant for anyone to be around. It's rather barbaric, actually, and barbarians don't boost RP's image. If you care about Ron Paul, you'll be respectable when promoting him.
I say this all as a "truther," myself.
Wow......
I guess I'll just give up too.
That is until Alex Jones runs for something.

Exactly...
We want leaders who will promise and tell us sweet little lies when they want our vote, and then when it looks like they may lose some votes should turn around 180 degrees and attack us as "despicable cultists". That's the kind of leaders we really want. A leader who flip-flops in the wind grabbing at power.
(Sarcasm)
And those she lied to should just shut the heck up! Who do they think they are? ;(
-OR-
Maybe she should learn to say with confidence "I don't think the govt was involved in 9/11 but I respect and defend the rights of those who question the govt and they are good people and how DARE you call them despicable and cultists! I am DONE with this interview!"
Perhaps?

I suspect
that if you gave her a few minutes or a day to respond to that question she would respond as you suggest.
Try to walk a mile in her moccasins and say the perfect thing on the spur of the moment.
Where did she flip flop? She
Where did she flip flop? She did not flip flop at all, she still believes that people have a right to questions Government and made that clear on CNN later that day, she is only stating she doesn't believe the Government performed 9-11, big difference.
Hence your words of wisdom from the member here 4 weeks.
Weebles,With respect
Please look at it this way,She had an idea about a theory forced on her with no choice,Myself as a free individual with the right to my own way of thinking, would resent someone forcing ideas into my campaign. How would you feel? There will only ever be one Ron Paul.

Well...
Medina is on record several times before the Beck interview stating she supported the right of people to question the government specifically regarding 9/11.
Did she think they were "despicable cultists" all along and was just pandering? Or, is she just a rookie who botched her first response and is now re-botching it?
If the latter is true, then fine. If the former, then not fine.
Which is it?
All she had to do was say, "I dont believe the govt did 9/11, but those who question 9/11 are good-hearted, normal people who love America" and then stand her ground.
As it is, the media wolves smell blood. They KNOW she flip-flopped. They are playing with her before the kill. And they will not stop. Every interview now is the same thing. If she would have stood her ground after the Beck interview it would now be a dead issue.
To continue on as if nothing happened or nothing continues to happen is essentially to say, "it's ok for Medina to continue digging a hole for herself and hurting herself"
And the funny thing is it's not too late. Right now, today, she could announce, "I dont believe the govt did 9/11, but those who question 9/11 are good-hearted, normal people who love America" and the people of Texas and America, truther and non-truther alike, would be fine with it.

Point taken
But I have to ask if some of her statements either way could have been manipulated or taken out of context, this really could make a difference in her views from the beginning. As for forgiveness from both sides,I have noticed that there is very little forgiveness in this forum.

She is a rookie.
I have worked in the media for over twenty five years
and I know a "rookie" when I see one.
I also can see when a person is trying to catch someone
off guard in a interview situation, and they have been trying
to do that ever since she has become a contender in this race.
You would be surprised how non polished folks sometimes
"freeze up" a bit when a mic is put in their face.
Very well said.
That's all it is.
Pressure
Rookie mistake
She doesn't feel comfortable dominating the conversation and turning it back to what SHE wants to talk about. I hope she starts to do that.
Also,
She is a human, And a Patriot!
"In the beginning of a change, the Patriot is a scarce man, brave, hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, however, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a Patriot." -Mark Twain
My feeling and intuition...
My feeling and intuition tells me she is just a rookie with a good heart who just messed up. She needs some better advice though on how to fix it.
She should have told Mark Davis to quit being such a intolerant xenophobe and to drop the subject or the interview was over. People would have respected that.
.
"Wobbles but doesn't fall down" - weebles
I totally agree
with you here, weebles.
I had also read on another site that she recently got a new campaign manager; perhaps she was advised to "present a new image"...this of course is only conjecture, and if true, was lousy advice, imo...
What I have noticed is that her "being one of us", her "energy", her "we're-going-to-win-this exuberance" has faded--everything that made her so appealing, everything about her that made people want to take those extra measures to help her win has faded. And I still wonder if she was threatened somehow. However, I did notice on the CNN (another ambush) interview yesterday that she said she's done with the 9/11 thing, that it's a distraction, and she steered the conversation to what she wants to do for Texas.
I haven't figured it all out in my mind, yet, but I still believe she is the best choice for Texas. Perry and Hutchison will "sell us out" for certain. I do believe she has Texans' best interests, at heart.
