CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. - A Rhode Island school district has voted to fire all the teachers at an underperforming school.
The Central Falls School Committee voted Tuesday evening to fire every educator at Central Falls High School at the end of the school year.

ya know
dont take me wrong here BUT
teachers got it made....all summer off..full bennies
2 weeks off for xmass week of in feb week off in april
and everybody praises them like they are ghandi.
gimme a break
you sound a little jealous,
why don't you do it if they got it made.
teaching, the cheapest day care/nanny service available to parents that don't care as much as they used to.
Not true
Most if not all teaches work a second job during the summer to be able to survive.
I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees...
Depends where you are located and how long they've been in
Depends where you are located and what position you hold.
Principals around me can make almost 6 figures....still overall at the bottom of the educational barrel though.
True.I was speaking generally
True.I was speaking generally of teachers and not administrative positions.
My cousin has been a teacher for going on 6yrs and she's still "at the bottom".Still working a second job during the summer too.
I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees...
The Reason why Central Falls schools are not making the grade
The Reason why Central Falls schools are not making the grade is because MOST of the students do not speak English and the teachers do not speak Spanish.
Thanks for the insight
That's the same problem my cousin in Orlando has.She tells me only 20% of her class speaks English and the others suffer from these kids. Her school is also receiving failing grades from the Fed.Gov.
She's almost at the point of throwing in the towel and finding another profession. She's just so frustrated with the situation.Who wouldn't be?
She also doesn't speak Spanish and doesn't feel the need to learn. So,she spends most 80% of her time trying to educate the one's who don't speak English and feels it is unfair to the other 20% who read and write in English already. It's terrible.
I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees...
Oh, great
so the kids have to suffer under these fired teachers for three more months? Wonderful.
The basic principle governing the Central Falls School Committee
is flawed and is proof that 'central planning for education' does not work.
Teaching is an art not something that is one size fits all.
The kids are failing because teachers are being rigidly constrained as to what and how they can teach!
This is the dumbing down and indoctrination of our children. The children are responding negatively towards these bogus curriculums because they are not in harmony with the child's spiritual/soul development instead these bogus curriculums deny this important development and children sense the weirdness in them.
It should fail because it's just junk. This is socialism and social engineering at its most disgusting.
We need to get back to the one room school house concept of real education. Education is derived from the latin, 'educare' meaning to bring out.
Socialist engineers at the federal levels would see to it that our children 'take in' what is being fed them and tested all the time to make sure they 'got it'.
This system is not interested in human children truly developing their natural born talents but just know enough to be 'cogs in a wheel' for a socialist world government they are eager to install asap.
Please see this thread I posted the other day regarding
a book available on line called, 'The Underground History of American Education' by John Taylor Gatto:

I agree with you
but see my post above about the kids not even speaking English. The Census Bureau is passing out all sorts of stuff (hats, balls, pins, stickers, T-shirts) with a nifty logo which says , !Si No Nos Cuentan, No Contamos!
Great reply thanks Anisha. I
Great reply thanks Anisha.
I think that the plan is flawed also.In the article it said only 7% of the 11th graders were proficient in math.
WHAT?
It's crazy how the school system is just failing these kids.I'm not that old (35) and I had Algebra in the 6th grade and ended up in Calculus in my senior year. Now I was in advanced classes but these kids aren't proficient in math at all?
Again,WHAT?
Just crazy.I was wondering what they decide is proficient? Can they add and subtract, multiply, divide?
Or is it a test they take to prove their proficiency?
Do you know how that works?
I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees...
I know some teachers who are my friends and they tell me
how absolutely constrained they are to use their own unique creativity as teachers to bring out talents in their students and truly teach the children in the public schools.
Instead they are given 'mandates' that have to be achieved by certain times. This is the epitome of socialism and is sooooo repugnant to natural creativity and our Constitution.
Human beings ARE NOT robots! They are spiritual beings who respond beautifully when the teachers are free to teach creatively and the curriculums are rich and full of classical education.
For an excellent example of a rich education for the spiritual development of children I receommend the Waldorf School Curriculum. This is what is meant by creative and educating from the inside out. We need this so badly at the local levels.
This is the dangers of central planning. We must TAKE BACK our education to the local levels. Parents have to be involved and active in their children's education. No doubt about it. We CAN do it. Congressional candidates must take this lead if they stand with the rule of law!
In my opinion the Waldorf Schools are the schools of the future. They also have programs for homeschoolers with guidance and support for parents. Please know this. My husband and I were Waldorf parents for 12 years for our two children and we never regret it. It was very hard work and we parents were the sole supporters of the classrooms and the school in general. We did everything and NOT A DIME FROM THE GOVERNMENT!!!
Great insight Anisha
Thanks for the recommendation.
If this is the one I read
If this is the one I read about maybe a week ago... the teachers did have options available to them, but through their union they decided not to budge. And since they would not budge, the admin gave them all the boot.
...
correct; big news here
correct; big news here
The first 5 million supporters of Dr. Paul are 'early adopters.' The next 10 million will require a modified approach.
didnt load for me, sounds
didnt load for me, sounds like a great read too.
That stinks.It basically says
That stinks. It basically says that because of the new federal effort to makeover failing schools that this is the plan.
Quote from the Education Secretary"when schools continue to struggle we have a collective obligation to take action".

wow
wish the people did the same to congress (Promote Paul to President!)
if they don't abide by the Constitution and Bill of Rights
They should be out!
