A Perfect Storm?

It strikes me as somewhat incongruous that both the Drudge Report and the Huffington Post have seemingly joined forces in skewering Mike Huckabee. Drudge is featuring Huckabees' "take this nation back for Christ" stance: http://www.drudgereport.com/

At the same time, the Huffington Post headline screams: New Documents Revealed In Case Of Huckabee's Support For Freeing Rapist

But, the icing on the cake... just above the Huckabee headline on Huffington Post, this little blurb scrolls across: Off The Bus: San Fran Ron Paul Supporters "Scaring" GOP Establishement, Proudly

The MSM may be ignoring Ron Paul and hyping Mike Huckabee, but the online press seems to be doing the opposite. It's obvious that Old Media is behind the Internet on both counts. When they catch up (and, they will), the Huckster will be toast and Ron Paul will be on his way to the Republican nomination.

A perfect storm for Ron Paul? Yes, I think so.

Establishment wants the Ghoul or Romney

They can be controlled. The last thing the elites want is some super righteous president who won't do what he is told. I don't agree w/ Huck, but I don't think he is going to be a puppet, and that's what they want. As for my personal opinion, I am a christian, and it would make me nervous to have a president who uses christianity in his policy decisions. Hopefully he will take votes away from Romney and lets RP rise to the top.

I love ron paul!

One "Positive" better than two "negatives"

I'll take that one positive article about Ron over the two negative articles over Huckabee anyday. It shows the true nature of these campaigns.

I head for years that you can "either curse the darkness" or simply "turn on a light." That's what this campaign is doing...and doing so well :-)

forgot about borrowing money from China.

It's all coming together

Your list is all coming together and it does look like the perfect storm. All that is needed is better name recognition. I'm hoping that will be helped by the PBS NOW show on Friday, the blimp, the tea party and hopefully 20/20 will decide to televise the John Stossel series a week from Friday. Can you imagine all the news next week about the Tea Party and then on Friday everyone tunes in to 20/20 and sees what he's all about. That truly would be a perfect storm.

And, as a native of the SF

And, as a native of the SF Bay Area, I am stunned that this is happening in SF, let alone California:

"In a town where one would expect Kucinich supporters to be swarming about, it’s a libertarian, anti-abortion Texas Republican Representative that has arguably gathered the largest and, at minimum, the most strikingly cheerful group of supporters at gatherings from the Summer of Love commemoration to the recent big antiwar rally.

Ron Paul’s views are on one hand alarming to many progressives, with Paul advocating private property rights over environmental regulation, elimination of the IRS and of course aggressively pro-life positions. On the other hand, he advocates pulling out of Iraq and closing most American overseas military bases.

Fifteen people volunteered at the Paul table that day, just like many have since late summer. They get there before the market opens at 8:00 a.m. and they stay until after closing time at 2:00 in the afternoon. But they’re not just showing up at outdoor public events. They’re showing up at old-school Republican gatherings too. It was one last week that got these Bay Area Paul people some national attention after things turned a little “feverish” at a local straw poll."
