Keep this in mind

After winning CPAC and getting all this media attention, it is obvious that more and more people are getting excited about liberty. A look at the popular forum topics right now shows that our message is attracting a lot of attention, and with it a lot of mud-slinging. I know a lot of us get riled up reading the smear pieces against us and the Good Doctor, but please remember that in countering these people's "arguments", we have an image to create/maintain. Just keep in mind that whatever you say as a liberty supporter reflects on our entire movement as a whole to the more collectivist-minded folks out there.

We have the truth on our side. Our philosophy wins any rational debate, so try if at all possible to keep the debate on philosophical terms. Regardless of which conspiracy theories may or may not be true, we do not need to resort to spreading them in order to win people over. People who agree with a lot of our ideas, yet are on the fence about supporting us, are completely turned away by conspiracy theories. If we are to ever truly grow our numbers and be taken seriously as a political force, we have to win these people over. So please, when educating the non-believers and almost-believers, think of how you are presenting yourself. Try to be a salesman for liberty.

what image to maintane?

The media call us kooks crazies and nuts, We discredit them every time someone meets us, or hears from us. I mean they set the bar so low it is hard to make our image worse. Thank you media.

Ok

Ok, so our media image is less than superb, but on a personal level we must try to change that perception. I'm sure everyone here knows this, I just feel that it is more important now than ever.

No! Thre are people who were thinking sane thoughts

all along but didn't know how to verbalize them until they found out about Ron Paul. At least that was the case with me.

I have a sister in New York City that didn't even know what he looked like until last week!!! I was so passionate about him and she'd say "But I've never even heard of him!" and now that he's all over the media and she's had a chance to see him and, most importantly, hear him, she doesn't understand what the stigma was. So I tell her, you've graduated up into the kooky, wacko club of people that can relate to Ron Paul. :0)

So funny, because

now you can say to people who are now really learning about Ron Paul but had only heard bits and pieces about him before: "Did you know that you were once considered a nut job for agreeing with him??!" That was long ago, back in 2008!

clam is good

No, not clam..it's an invertebrate, or a chowder.

I mean, CALM!
Let's have a bowl of CALM chowder!

Not really.

All this describes is Republican Party Version 2.0

A kinder, gentler, more constitutional sellout.

I understand your sentiment

But I know several people personally who agree with us on most things, yet won't associate with Ron Paul because of the tin-foil-hat stigma. We have a unique opportunity on our hands now to convert lots of people, and we don't need to squander this by scaring people away. A lot of the sheeple who have the potential to be awoken cannot handle facing the truth of our reality, so they must be awoken gently.
